Mexico and United States are both looking to keep the pressure on Canada at the top of the CONCACAF World Cup qualifying group when the two sides meet on Thursday.

Level on points and four behind Canada, the two teams are on course to qualify for the competition in Qatar, but could still fall into the play-off place with Panama lurking behind them.

United States ran out 2-0 winners when the two sides met last November, so El Tri will be out for revenge in Mexico City.

Mexico vs USMNT latest odds

United States have been the winners in the last three matches between these sides, but they are seen as outsiders in the betting for this clash.

A victory for the hosts is priced at 10/11 (1.91) with bet365 while United States are offered at 10/3 (4.33) to hold on to second place in the group.

A draw between the two teams is available at 23/10 (3.3).

Mexico vs USMNT first goalscorer

Raul Jimenez scored the decisive goal as Mexico ran out 1-0 winners against Panama last month and is the lowest-priced player to break the deadlock once again this time around.

Jimenez can be backed at 11/4 (3.75) to score first, while team-mate Hirving Lozano is available at 4/1 (5.0).

For United States, their top scorer in this stage of qualifying, Ricardo Pepi, is offered at 7/1 (8.00) to get the first goal, while Christian Pulisic can be backed at 8/1 (9.0).

Mexico vs USMNT preview

Mexico have given their World Cup qualifying hopes a boost so far this year, taking seven points from their last three matches in the group.

They now sit level on points with this week's opponents heading into the final three matches, but these sides are not yet guaranteed a place in the finals or even the inter-confederation play-offs.

While Mexico saw Rodolfo Pizarro and Jonathan Orozco pull out of the squad early, it is the United States who are without some key players.

Sergino Dest is unavailable for the visitors because of a hamstring injury, while Brenden Aaronson also had to pull out. Weston McKennie is missing after being ruled out for the rest of the season with an injury sustained during Juventus' Champions League clash with Villarreal.

However, Gregg Berhalter still has Christian Pulisic, Ricardo Pepi and Jesus Ferreira at his disposal who could all prove dangerous against El Tri.

Mexico vs USMNT tips & predictions

The last few games between these sides have been low-scoring affairs and you can back under 2.5 goals this time around at 4/7 (1.57).
