Pep Guardiola will be satisifed with his side's performance, although he will be looking for them to be tighter at the back in the second half as the visitors have had opportunities outside of Sancho's strike. Ralf Rangnick will be urging his side to search for a clinical edge to get back into the contest for a second time.
Manchester City lead Manchester United 2-1 at the break in their Premier League clash. Manchester City are looking to complete the league double over United for just the second time under manager Pep Guardiola, having previously done so in 2018-19.
United have made three changes to their side from their draw against Watford in their last outing. Cristiano Ronaldo is out with a hip injury, while Luke Shaw and Raphael Varane have COVID-19, with Edinson Cavani not yet fully fit. Matic drops to the bench for the Red Devils. Sancho, McTominay and Maguire all come into the team this afternoon for Rangnick's men.
City have made six changes to their side from their FA Cup triumph over Peterborough United during the week. Walker, Stones and Laporte slot into the back four as Ruben Dias misses out due to injury along with Nathan Ake, while Zinchenko drops to the bench. De Bruyne, Silva and Rodri all return to the fold as Fernandinho, Gundogan and Jesus make way.
MANCHESTER UNITED SUBS: Eric Bailly, Phil Jones, Juan Mata, Marcus Rashford, Jesse Lingard, Diogo Dalot, Dean Henderson, Nemanja Matic, Hannibal Mejbri.

United carry an eight-match unbeaten run in the Premier League into the contest, but their goalless draw against Watford last time out was underwhelming to say the least. Ralf Rangnick's men are still on course to qualify for the Champions League next season by finishing in the top four, but they will have to find a clinical edge in the final third. The Red Devils do have injury and COVID-19 absentees today, which adds further difficulty to the task at hand against their rivals.
City bounced back from their defeat at the hands of Tottenham by beating Everton on the road by a narrow 1-0 margin in their last outing in the Premier League. However, Liverpool have ramped up the pressure on Pep Guardiola's men by closing the gap at the top of the table to three points after edging out West Ham yesterday. City need to keep winning to distance themselves from the Reds' charge, but United have given them difficulty on home soil in the past.
Good afternoon and welcome to the live commentary of the Premier League clash between Manchester City and Manchester United at the Etihad Stadium.
