Mainz are next in action in the Bundesliga next Sunday on the road to Wolfsburg. Bayern are in action on the same day at home to Hertha Berlin.
Mainz come from behind to win for the first time this season, defeating league leaders Bayern Munich 3-1 at the Mewa Arena to cap a difficult week for Thomas Tuchel and his team. The visitors took the lead in the first half through Sadio Mane when he headed home Joao Cancelo's cross at the back post. However, Mainz responded in the second half as Ludovic Ajorque scored a header of his own before Leandro Barreiro put the hosts ahead. Aaron Martin then secured the three points with a crisp strike from the edge of the box. Bo Svensson's men are now unbeaten in 10 and can put forward a real challenge for a top-six place. Bayern's lead at the top hangs in the balance.
90' + 5' FULL-TIME: MAINZ 3-1 BAYERN MUNICH
90' + 3' SAVE! Mazraoui cuts the ball back to Tel in the box and he shoots first-time on the turn. His effort has power, but Zentner makes a smart reaction save to turn it away.
90' + 2' Barkok surges forward from the back and looks for a cross towards Onisiwo, but he sees his delivery blocked. He collects the rebound and heads to the corner.
90' + 1' Mainz are in game-management mode and are taking the ball to the corner at every opportunity. They're not taking any chances against the league leaders.
90' There will be five minutes of added time.
88' It has been a tough week for Bayern, but the intensity has not been there from the visitors. As soon as Mainz got the equaliser, only one team looked capable of winning the contest.
85' Bayern have been taken apart by Mainz's second-half onslaught. They've offered nothing in the final third themselves and have been duly punished.

Goal
73' GOALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!! BARREIRO FIRES MAINZ AHEAD!!!!!! 2-1!!!! The home side complete the comeback to take the lead against the league leaders through Barreiro. A long ball forward from the back is headed on by Ajorque towards Onisiwo. He fends off Stanisic and and lays the ball into the path of Barreiro in a central position. The midfielder only needs to beat Sommer and he makes no mistake placing his right-footed strike into the bottom-left corner. Route one, but effective from Svensson's men.
70' The visitors win a series of corners, but the home side are able to clear their lines from all three deliveries from Kimmich. The midfielder has not been at his best today from dead balls.
69' Bayern paid the price for being too passive in their approach. Tuchel's men now need to gain the upper hand if they are to get back in front.
67' Ajorque has now scored in his last four Bundesliga games while Mainz have scored in their last 15 Bundesliga games.
L. Ajorque
Goal
65' GOALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!!! AJORQUE EQUALISES!!! 1-1!!!! Mainz are level as Ajorque heads home from close range. 49' OVER! Onisiwo twists and turns in the inside-left channel and forces a low ball towards the near post. Ajorque gets ahead of Upamecano, but can only lift his strike over the top.

Mainz were just building a platform in the game before they were undone by a piece of brilliance from Cancelo as his cross was converted by Mane. The home side are still in the contest, but need to make improvements in the final third to put Bayern under pressure at the back.
Bayern hold a 1-0 lead at the break against Mainz in their Bundesliga clash. Sadio Mane had a goal disallowed for offside, but returned later in the half to head Joao Cancelo's cross into the back of the net. There has been little between the two sides as Thomas Muller had a strike blocked, while Leandro Barreiro has been active in the final third for the home side without being clinical.
45' + 3' HALF-TIME: MAINZ 0-1 BAYERN MUNICH

38' Mainz are struggling to make an impression in the Bayern half at the moment. Svensson will be wanting to get his side into the break without further damage to the scoreline.
36' Lee loses possession in the middle of the park and Kimmich looks for the immediate ball over the top for Mane, but he just misplaced his offload to the wrong side of the forward.
34' Mainz have failed to win in their last 16 matches after conceding the opening goal in the Bundesliga dating back to 18th February 2022 against Bayer Leverkusen.
33' CHANCE! Cancelo goes on the overlap down the left flank to latch onto Musiala's pass, only to steer his right-footed strike over the bar. Mainz are on the ropes here.
31' CLOSE! Musiala almost makes it 2-0 Bayern. Mazraoui breaks down the right flank and supplies an excellent cross for Musiala to attack in the middle. He glances his header away from Zentner, but it drifts inches wide of the left post.

23' Fernandes is the latest Mainz defender to concede a corner, but the home side deal with Kimmich's delivery comfortably before Onisiwo finds space on the counter.
21' Bayern win a corner down the left flank as Cancelo knocks the ball off Widmer. Kimmich whips a cross into the box, but Zentner comes through a crowd to make the claim.

15' DISALLOWED GOAL! Mane clips the the ball over Zentner into the back of the net, but the offside flag goes up immediately as he strays a fraction off from Musiala's pass.
14' BLOCK! Widmer makes a crucial block to deny Muller. A slip by Bell allows Mane to surge into the Mainz box and he spots Muller in space. The Bayern skipper collects his cutback and shoots first-time, only to see his effort brilliantly blocked by a sliding Widmer.
13' Kimmich arcs a ball over the top of the Mainz defence for Mazraoui to chase. He sends a cutback into the middle that is cleared by Fernandes, although he was offside anyway.

3' Kimmich's cross makes it through to Davies in the box on the left flank. He goes for a strike on his right foot, but sees his effort blocked.
1' We're under way at the Mewa Arena.
Mainz have won both their Bundesliga home games against Bayern under Bo Svensson, as many victories as they managed from their first 14 top-flight home matches against them combined.
Bayern make four changes to their side from their draw against Manchester City during the week. Stanisic comes into the backline to replace Benjamin Pavard. Davies slots into left wing-back role, while Muller and Mane lead the line for Tuchel's men. Sane and Coman drop to the bench, while Eric Choupo-Moting and Pavard are absent from the squad.
Mainz have made one change to their side from their draw against Koln last time out.Lee Jae-Sung comes into the side to replace Stach in the final third, with the latter dropping to the bench. Onisiwo continues to lead the line for Svensson's men.
BAYERN SUBS: Serge Gnabry, Leroy Sane, Kingsley Coman, Daley Blind, Sven Ulreich, Ryan Gravenberch, Mathys Tel, Noussair Mazraoui.

Bayern will be looking for a response after crashing out of the Champions League during the week in their 4-1 aggregate defeat to Manchester City. Thomas Tuchel and his team earned a 1-1 draw on the night, but the damage was done in the first leg. Bayern now turn their attention back to domestic matters where life has not been straightforward under Tuchel since he replaced Julian Nagelsmann. Bayern earned revenge on Freiburg for their DFB-Pokal defeat, but drew last time out against Hoffenheim. The race for the title is far from over.
Mainz's push for European football has been stymied in recent weeks, although Bo Svensson's men are still unbeaten in their last nine matches. The problem has been draws over the last month, putting forward four stalemates in their last five games, including a 1-1 draw against Koln last time out. Mainz at their best can cause problems for any side in the Bundesliga, highlighted by their impressive 3-0 win over RB Leipzig on the road. Svensson will be looking for a similar outing today.
Hello and welcome to the live commentary of the Bundesliga clash between Mainz and Bayern Munich at the Mewa Arena.
