Commentary

That's all for today. Goodbye.
Both failing to qualify for the World Cup, Hungary next head to Luxembourg for an international friendly, with Italy travelling to Albania.
Italy have qualified for the finals of the Nations League after being Hungary 2-0. After Cristante went close, with his cross-come-shot cleared off the line by Szalai after Gulacsi spilled the ball, it was Raspadori who gave Mancini’s side the lead. He latched onto the ball after Gnonto sped in to close down the Hungary goalkeeper, running around the Leipzig man before turning the ball into the net. The home team then improved and could have scored just before the break, but Orban elected to ignore an open goal, squaring the ball to Szalai who missed the target. However, their best scoring chance came in the second half. Bursting forward, Nego, Szoboszlai, Styles and Szalai had shots saved or blocked before Italy scored moments later. Dimarco smashed the ball in from close range, getting on the end of a cross from Cristante who was played in by Barella.

Italy need to look to shoot more often, with Gulacsi having a poor game so far. The Hungary goalkeeper has looked nervous ever since he let Cristante’s cross through his palms and could have done better for the Italian’s opener. As for Hungary, they must get the ball into the feet of Nego and Szoboszlai more often. Sitting deep for most of the first half, the pair have dragged the home team forward and have forced the opposition defenders to pull them down when looking to move into the space.
Italy have a narrow lead as the teams head into the tunnel. After Di Lorenzo narrowly missed the target with a header, Mancini’s side took the lead through Raspadori. Also scoring against England, the Napoli striker latched onto a loose ball after Gulacsi collided with Gnonto who pressed him, rounding the goalkeeper and rolling the ball into an empty net. Hungary had just one clear chance in the first half, with Orban neglecting the opportunity to shoot the ball into an empty net after reaching Szoboszlai’s cross, instead looking for Szalai who missed the target.

15' There have been a total of three shots so far in the game, none of which have hit the target.

As for Italy, Roberto Mancini also makes just the one alteration to the team that was victorious in their previous Nations League match. West Ham striker Scamacca makes way for 18-year-old forward Gnonto.
Hungary make just one change to the side that beat Germany last time out. Gazdag moves onto the bench and is replaced by Nego. Thirty-four-year-old forward and captain Szalai starts his final match for Hungary after announcing that he will retire from international football after this match.
