Kenneth Muguna’s 42nd minute strike gave K'Ogalo all the points against the Sammy Okoth coached outfit since second-half never bore any fruits for either team.
Zoo Kericho went to the match with the desire to win having fell in their opening match played against Posta Rangers last weekend while Gor Mahia, were out to justify their unofficial motto of ‘win all matches’ after beating Kariobangi Sharks last week.
The absence of Rwandan international midfielder Jean-Baptiste Mugiraneza was a concern prior to the match but K’Ogalo's home fans were still not disappointed having won the game.
Timothy Otieno, Jacques Tuyisenge and Francis Kahata, who stepped up for Mugiraneza, were instrumental in the match launching a number of attacks with Boniface Oluoch being alert between the sticks.
Notably, in the last minutes of the match, Zoo looked stronger, only to suffer a set-back in the 80th minute when Nixon Omulanda was red-carded for a second bookable offense. Bernard Odhiambo was also yellow-carded two minutes later, events which completely destabilized the visitors.
