Relegation-threatened Emirates FC got their second win of the league season by beating powerhouse Al Ain 3-2 in matchday 15 of the Arabian Gulf League

With this win Emirates raise their point tally to 9 points in 12th place, while Al Ain remain temporarily in 2nd place with 31 points, pending Al Wasl’s meeting with Al Dhafra, and Al Ahli’s with Al Nasr as Al Wasl and Al Ahli both have 29 points in 3rd and 4th places.

Emirates opened the scoring in the 22nd minute with a freekick by Murad Batna after the Moroccan was brought down on the edge of the area by Mohammed Abdurrahman.

Caio Lucas equalized for Al Ain in the 38th minute when Ismail Ahmad slipped him through and unleashed a powerful shot that beat the keeper and ended up in the net.

Ibrahim Diaky managed to score a second for Al Ain after Mohammed Abdurrahman’s pass in the 71st minute, but Al Ain’s lead was short lived as Emirates came back 2 minutes later with an equalizer.

Emirates edged Al Ain in the 83rd minute, when Othman Saw scored on his debut for the team, and gave his side the hard-fought and crucial 3 points.
