Poland have qualified for the World Cup last 16, but who is available to coach Czeslaw Michniewicz to face France in the round of 16?

Poland have made it through the group stages at the 2022 World Cup after managing just one victory across the three games.

They drew against Mexico, beat Saudi Arabia and lost to Argentina in Group C. Still, it is the first time since 1986 that Poland has made it to the knockouts.

Now they face the defending champions France which will undoubtedly be a stern test for Robert Lewandowski and co.

Robert Lewandowski is the captain of the team and also the country's all-time top goalscorer. He got his first World Cup goal against Saudi Arabia and will be pumped up to repeat the heroics against France.

To support him up top, Poland does not just have Juventus forward Arkadiusz Milik, but also Krzysztof Piatek and Karol Swiderski.

Szczesny has been exceptional for Poland in the group stages. If he maintains his form against France then Kylian Mbappe and co. will have a tough time getting past him.

At the other end of the pitch, Barcelona's Lewandowski will be the one to watch out for. Saudi Arabia made the mistake of giving him an inch and he took a mile. His duel against the French centre-backs will be a feisty battle and if he gets going it will be a long night for Hugo Lloris.

  6. THE EAGLES PROBABLE STARTING XI VS FRANCE

Szczęsny is set to feature in goal behind Cash, Glik, Kiwior and Bereszynski.

Zielinski, Bielik, Frankowski and Krychowiak could all line up to form the four-man midfield for Poland.

Barcelona striker Lewandowski is undoubtedly the favourite to lead the line along with Swiderski.

Poland XI (4-4-2): Szczesny; Cash, Glik, Kiwior, Bereszynski; Frankowski, Krychowiak, Zielinski, Bielik; Lewandowski, Swiderski.
