Teboho Mokoena, Mamelodi Sundowns
Masandawana announced the signing of the Bafana Bafana star from SuperSport United last week

Teboho Mokoena joined Mamelodi Sundowns to end speculation on his future as Kaizer Chiefs were also interested in his signature.

Comfortable as both a defensive linkman and being an attacking midfielder, he joins Sundowns who are already packed in the middle of the park with big-name players, most of whom are on top of their game.

GOAL takes a look at the Brazilians' midfielders who would be competing for playing opportunities with Mokoena.

Mvala is in his second season at Mamelodi Sundowns and the only thing that keeps him out of the team are injuries.

Mokoena and Mvala have shared space together in the Bafana Bafana squad.

    Haashim Domingo

Domingo has featured in 12 of 19 league games for Sundowns this season and has executed himself commendably.

  • Lesedi Kapinga, Mamelodi Sundowns, December 2021

    Lesedi Kapinga

Kapinga has been struggling for game time this season and is not regarded as a player who can stand in Mokoena's way.

  • Neo Maema, Mamelodi Sundowns, November 2021

    Neo Maema

Maema is in his first season at Chloorkop and immediately made an impact in the team as a regular.

In the 24 league games he has appeared in, Mema has scored three goals and made five assists.

  • George Maluleka Sundowns

    George Maluleka

Life at Chloorkop has not been rosy for Maluleka who only has two appearances this season.

He is not a threat to Mokoena and there have been reports suggesting that Maluleka could be loaned out or have his contract terminated.

  • Sphelele Mkhulise of Mamelodi Sundowns.

Mkhulise has featured in 15 games across all competitions for Masansdawana this season.

  • Themba Zwane, Mamelodi Sundowns, October 2021

    Themba Zwane

An attacking midfielder who is almost a forward, Zwane is not much of a threat to Mokoena.

  • Gaston Sirino, Mamelodi Sundowns

    Gaston Sirino

Sirino is usually deployed on the flanks and he is not a player Mokoena would be worried about.

  • Bradley Ralani, Mamelodi Sundowns, December 2021

    Bradley Ralani

A new signing who arrived at Sundowns this January, Ralani is one of the players who stand in Mokoena's way.

The veteran midfielder is a player who could be in the same situation as Mokoena, wondering about who he could condemn to the bench.

  • Aubrey Modiba, Mamelodi Sundowns, January 2021

    Aubrey Modiba

Modiba is sometimes deployed as a left-back but he has been impressive whenever he plays in midfield.

He has made 10 league appearances this term and started four of those.
