The biggest game this weekend in the EPL sees Arsenal host Liverpool and the Gunners will be hoping to record another victory

The headline fixture of EPL Matchweek 10 will see table-toppers Arsenal (7-0-1) host Liverpool (2-4-1) at the Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners continued their impressive start to the Premier League season after the international break, earning a 3-1 home victory over archrival Spurs in the North London derby. They followed that performance with a 3-0 win against Norwegian side Bodo/Glimt in the Europa League on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Liverpool’s woeful league form continued last Saturday, as the Reds dropped points in a thrilling 3-3 home draw with Brighton. Jürgen Klopp’s side did get a much-needed victory in the Champions League on Tuesday, however, comfortably cruising past Rangers to remain within touching distance of Group A leaders Napoli.

What is in store for Sunday? Let's dig into the betting odds to pick out our Arsenal vs Liverpool best bets.

Arsenal vs Liverpool odds are current as of Thursday, Oct. 6, at BetMGM Sportsbook.

Despite their poor start to the season, Liverpool are still getting a lot of respect in the betting market. Much like both teams’ matches over the weekend, oddsmakers are expecting goals to fly in as the total is juiced to the Over.

Arsenal vs Liverpool Betting Tips

This match will tell us a lot about both teams.

Liverpool have had Arsenal’s number in recent seasons, winning the last four Premier League meetings between the two clubs. And if you factor in a few recent EFL Cup fixtures, the Gunners have failed to score against the Reds in over 10 hours of play.

So, why are oddsmakers expecting both teams to score and Over 2.5 goals in this match? Well, Liverpool have been nowhere near as defensively solid this season as they have been in years past.

Virgil van Dijk’s form has dropped, and Trent Alexander-Arnold is often viewed as a liability in man-marking situations. The absence of left back Andrew Robertson, who could return from injury on Sunday, hasn’t helped matters either.

The Reds have traditionally played a 4-3-3 formation under Klopp, but the German manager recently tried out a 4-2-3-1 against Rangers to try to stabilize his leaky defense. The move worked against a lesser opponent, but will it hold up against an improved Arsenal attack that has averaged 2.5 goals per game over the first quarter of the season?

That will be the key in determining the outcome of Liverpool vs Arsenal.

Arsenal vs Liverpool Prediction

Arsenal 1-1 Liverpool

This will be the first time Mikel Arteta’s rejuvenated side plays a top-two team from last season, so this will be a big test.

The Gunners have the advantage of playing at home, and could actually be more rested despite playing later in midweek as Xhaka, Gabriel Martinelli, and Gabriel were the only holdovers in a heavily-rotated starting XI for Thursday’s UEL match.

Liverpool have struggled on their travels this campaign, drawing at Fulham and Everton, while losing at Manchester United and Napoli. While they have overwhelmed Arsenal in recent years, this feels like it will be a close contest.

Arsenal vs Liverpool Best Bets

➕ Draw (+260) at BetMGM Sportsbook

WAGER: 0.5 Units

Wagering on a draw isn’t particularly fun, however, I do believe this is the most likely outcome of Sunday’s match.

While these clubs haven’t shared the spoils in the Premier League since Nov. 2018, there have been a handful of EFL Cup and Community Shield contests between the two sides that have ended level since then.

➕ Both Teams to Score (-185) at BetMGM Sportsbook

WAGER: 1.85 Units

These are two teams that like to attack, and both have had trouble keeping clean sheets outside of Europe. Arsenal have scored in every EPL match this season, while Liverpool have only been held scoreless once.

I think Over 2.5 goals is also worth a look, as I could see either team snatching a 2-1 victory, but I like that this prop would still cash if we get the 1-1 draw I am expecting.
