Commentary

That's all from us, we hope you enjoyed that game, and until next time, goodbye!
Udinese climb to the top of the Serie A table on 16 points, overtaking Napoli and the Milan clubs to sit first for the time being. The three could still overtake Le Zebrette with their game in hand, but regardless, it's still been one hell of a start to the season for Ude. Inter remain sixth, but a third loss in seven games suggests that a push to re-take the title they last won in 2021 could be too big of a challenge for Simone Inzaghi's men.
If he was good in the first half, Deulofeu was near-unplayable in the second, setting up both of the Ude goals which took the game beyond Inter, and was a constant threat on the break. His assist were two of six key passes, and he completed 31 in Inter's half. He had five shots, testing Handanovic with one, and he also attempted seven crosses, finding his target with three, and two of these lead to the goals which send his side to the top of Serie A.
What a result for the home side!!! Udinese were uttery dominant in the latter stages of the second half, but as chance after chance went by, it looked like they wouldn't be able to break Inter down. Bijol's bullet header put them into the lead late on, before another header from Arslan on the break sealed the victory that sends Udinese to the top of the Serie A table! Inter were thoroughly outplayed, and can have no complaints as they pick up their third defeat of the season.
90' + 6' FULL-TIME: UDINESE 3-1 INTER.
90' + 5' Walace blocks the jump of Dumfries as he rises for a high ball, and Inter win a late free-kick on the edge of the Ude box.
Deulofeu
Assist
90' + 3' A beauty of a cross from Deulofeu, who gave Inter's trailing defence no chance of heading the ball away, and secured his second assist of the game!
T. Arslan
Goal
90' + 3' GOOOOOAAAAAALLLLL!!!! Game. Set. Match!!!! Udinese are heading to the Serie A summit as they put the gloss on this famous victory!!! They break down the right again and Deulofeu crosses after playing a one-two with Samardzic, and Arslan is at the back post to smash a diving header into the roof of the net, and it's 3-1 with no way back for Inter!
90' + 1' We're into five minutes of added time, but with Silvestri still down following that collision with Martinez, that could well be more.
90' CHANCE!!!! What a chance for Inter!!! Barella tees up Brozovic on the edge of the box, who fires low through a crowd of players. Silvestri spills it, and Martinez slides in to score the rebound, but the Udinese keeper gets in the way of the ball and Becao hooks it away!
89' Deulofeu dribbles forward on the break for the hosts and Ude have a four-on-three overlap, but he can't release his pass to Success soon enough, and Inter eventually clear it!
87' WIDE!!! Dimarco's deep cross towards the back post is headed back across goal by Dumfries, where Martinez meets the ball but can only mis-hit a volley wide of the target!
86' It's most definitely been coming, as Udinese have had an absolute litter of chances in this second half. However, the set piece once again prevails, with all three goals in this game coming from dead-ball situations!
Deulofeu
Assist
84' While Deulofeu's delivery was a good one, Bijol still had a hell of a lot to do, and boy did he do well to score that header!
J. Bijol
Goal
84' GOOOOAAAALLLL!!! That may well win it!!! Deulofeu's corner is met by Bijol racing towards the near post, who fires a powerful header over the crowd of players in the box and nestles the ball in the far corner!!! What a header, and what a way to potentially win this match!
84' Success hustles and harries De Vrij deep in his own half, forcing a mistake which results in an Udinese corner.
83' The hosts break and Walace comes away with the ball. He looks to release Deulofeu, but overhits his pass and Handanovic clears it!
82' OVER!!! A long throw from Dumfries is headed out by Becao, and Skriniar smashes a left-footed shot from the edge of the box, which sails high and over the bar!
E. Ebosse
D. Udogie
80' The booked Udogie is also withdrawn for the hosts, with Enzo Ebosse replacing him.
T. Arslan
S. Lovrić
79' Lovric has been exceptional in the middle for the hosts, but comes off now for Tolgay Arslan.
S. de Vrij
F. Acerbi
79' Inter make another defensive switch as Acerbi comes off, replaced on his first league start for the Nerazzuri by Stefan de Vrij.
78' SAVED!!! Walace pulls the trigger from 20 yards and fires a shot low towards goal, which Handanovic sees late and saves with his knees!
78' After a well-timed Dimarco challenge prevents Success from shooting and concedes a corner, it's whipped into the box but is punched clear by Handanovic!
77' Inter and Udinese are the two teams to have scored the most goals in the final 15 minutes of play so far this season (four each) - both teams won their last league game scoring in this period, with Brozovic’s aforementioned winner against Torino, and the hosts scoring twice in injury time to beat Sampdoria.
75' SAVED!!! The hosts break and Lovric races onto Success' headed pass. He tees up Deulofeu with a reverse pass, but the Spaniard's left-footed shot is held by Handanovic!
74' Inter break and Barella looks to cross from the right edge, but Udogie slides in and both players end up in a heap on the edge of the Ude box!
73' OFF THE POST!!! Success brings down Silvestri's long kick and Deulofeu carries forward. His shot across goal hits the post and comes back out, and Samardzic brings back the rebound before seeing a shot blocked! It skews out to Ehizibue, whose first-time effort from the edge of the box takes several deflections before Inter clear! How did at least one of those not go in?
71' Martinez climbs high at the front post to head the ball across goal, but it finds no-one else and the hosts can break from the loose ball!
71' Correa comes down the left and beats two before attempting to cross. Ehizibue cuts it out, but can only put it behind for an Inter corner.
K. Ehizibue
R. Pereyra
69' Ude captain Pereyra also comes off, with Nigeria international Kingsley Ehizibue replacing him.
I. Success
Beto
69' Beto couldn't add to his four goals in this game, and Isaac Success will take his place in attack for the hosts.
D. D'Ambrosio
M. Darmian
67' Darmian is also brought off, and he's replaced out wide by Danilo D'Ambrosio.
J. Correa
E. Džeko
67' Dzeko comes off in Inter's latest change, with Joaquin Correa coming on to replace him up front.
66' Martinez and Dzeko head a long ball onto Barella on the edge of the box, but he slips as he attempts to shoot and the chance comes to nothing!
65' Barella splits the defence with a throughball to Martinez in the box, but the stretching Argentine can't quite latch onto the pass and Silvestri gathers!
64' Becao meets the corner, glancing a header at the front post, but he can't direct the ball goalwards and it rolls well wide!
63' SAVED!!! Lovric surges through midfield and towards goal, getting away from Brozovic before looking to place a shot in the bottom corner. It's a good, low effort that is heading in, but Handanovic stretches to stick out a glove and tip it around the post!
63' No player has created more chances following a ball carry than Deulofeu’s six in the current Serie A campaign - in addition, no player has provided more assists after a carry than he and his teammate Pereyra (two and three respectively).
L. Samardžić
J. Makengo
61' Makengo comes off in Udinese's first change, and Lazar Samardzic will replace him in midfield.
59' OVER!!! Dumfries' header bounces to Dzeko, who smashes a half-volley from 25 yards, with a deflection taking it over and behind for a corner!
M. Brozović
Yellow Card
57' Brozovic slides in recklessly on Walace but catches only the player, and the Serb is booked by the referee as a result.
57' CHANCE!!! Deulofeu races forward before feeding Beto, who gets past Acerbi thanks to a ricochet and has the ball just yards from goal. He looks to square for a teammate, but the ball finds no-one and Inter clear!
Rodrigo Becão
Yellow Card
56' Gagliardini and Becao both contest a 50-50 ball, but the Inter midfielder comes off worse, with Becao getting none of the ball and picking up a yellow card for the challenge.
55' BALL IN THE NET!!! Good one-touch play from Inter as Martinez tees up Barella. He passes onto Dzeko, who rounds Silvestri before scoring from a tight angle, but as he races off celebrating he sees the raised offside flag, meaning the goal won't count!
53' Barella crosses from deep for Dzeko, who heads it down for Dumfries. He arrives late, but shanks his shot and the ball skews well wide of goal!
52' OVER!!! Dimarco's corner is headed back towards him, and he floats a right-footed cross towards the far post. Dumfries rises and meets the ball with a downward header, but the bounce takes it down and up over the bar!
51' SAVED!!! Dimarco takes the free-kick and whips an effort towards the far corner, but it's punched away from the goal by Silvestri!
D. Udogie
Yellow Card
51' Dzeko's flick on for Dumfries comes to nothing after Udogie catches the Inter wing-back off the ball, and the on-loan Tottenham player is booked for the home side.
49' WIDE!!! Ude break as Walace flies forward before finding Deulofeu, who squares the ball to Pereyra on the edge of the box, but the Zebrette captain drags his first-time effort well wide of the goal!
48' Deulofeu whips in a corner looking to disrupt Handanovic, but sees his cross land on top of the net, not in it.
47' Udogie uses strength and skill to beat both Dumfries and Brozovic down the left, but he's shoved over on the sideline by Skriniar, and wins a free-kick.
46' Martinez kicks off for Inter, and we're back underway for the second half!
The players are back out on the pitch, and can Udinese press on to win this game after such a positive first half?
Deulofeu has been everywhere in attack for the home side, having three shots in total, with two of these blocked. He's completed 27 passes, 23 of which were in Inter's half and he created scoring chances with two of them. He also won both of his duels on the ball, made three finals third entries, and put three crosses into dangerous areas.
The half draws to a close with two goals from free-kicks cancelling each other out! The first, a pearl of a strike from Barella, saw Inter take an early lead, but since then Udinese have piled on the pressure, having seven shots but hitting the target with none of them! However, Pereyra's ball into the box saw Skriniar score an unfortunate own goal, locking up the scoreline and setting up a second half that promises plenty more chances at both ends.
45' + 3' HALF-TIME: UDINESE 1-1 INTER.
45' + 3' Deulofeu takes the free-kick, but chooses to shoot rather than cross and blazes it miles over the bar!
M. Darmian
Yellow Card
45' + 1' Darmian swings his boot to clear a bouncing ball, but catches an onrushing Becao high, sending him to the floor and receiving a yellow card from the referee.
45' We'll play a minute's worth of added time to close out the first half.
45' After a Deulofeu shot inside the Inter box is blocked, the visitors race forward on the counter down the right. Dumfries has plenty of options in the box, but gets his cross all wrong and smashes it over and behind!
44' Barella's cross into the centre is headed away by Bijol, but it comes back to Dzeko on the left side of the box. He looks to find Dimarco arriving in support, but Makengo cuts it out and the home side can counter!
43' Dumfries is penalised for a foul throw, after taking an age to take it, in what is quite a rare sight in modern top-flight football!
41' Udinese face Inter while sitting above them in the table for the first time since December 2014 – the last two times in which this is happened in the Italian top-flight, the Friulians have won the match (2-1 in December 2014 and 5-2 in May 2013).
R. Pereyra
Yellow Card
39' Pereyra's heavy touch to get past two allows Dimarco to clear for Inter, but Pereyra follows through on him and smashes into the Inter substitute, and the Ude captain is booked as a result.
38' Udogie loses out to Dumfries in midfield, who finds Dzeko down the right with a reverse pass. He crosses for Martinez in the box, but a deflection off Perez sends the ball into the gloves of Silvestri.
37' Udinese have collected 13 points from their first six league games this season, equalling their best start to a Serie A campaign. However, in only one of these previous seasons have the Friulians won on matchday seven, reaching 16 points in 2000-01.
35' A wide cross-field pass is floated towrds Dzeko, who attempts a Van Basten-esque half volley from a tight angle that flies over the bar!
34' Beto races into the box, shoving off Dumfries before going down himself. Brozovic loses the ball in to box, and Deulofeu has a shot blocked, before the ball skews out to Walace who fires another attempt goalwards, but that deflects away too!
33' WIDE!!! Martinez brings down another high ball with superb close control and frees up Dumfries down the right. He crosses into the box, and Dzeko meets it with his head, glancing the ball just wide of the post!!!
F. Dimarco
A. Bastoni
31' Inter's other yellow-carded player is also brought off, with Bastoni, who was so close to scoring just moments ago, withdrawn for Federico Dimarco.
R. Gagliardini
H. Mkhitaryan
30' Simone Inzaghi clearly isn't happy with what he's seeing so far, and the Inter boss makes a double substitution, bringing off Mkhitaryan first for Roberto Gagliardini.
30' SAVED!!!! Darmian's cross into the box is chested on by Dzeko, and Bastoni smashes a volleyed shot goalwards, forcing Silvestri to tip it onto the bar and over!!!
29' Perez passes back to Silvestri, who beats the onrushing Dzeko with a Cruyff turn before passing out to Walace!
27' Mkhitaryan is found on the left byline by Darmian and crosses into the box, but Makengo intercepts and clears. Beto looks to race onto the ball forward, but is held back by Acerbi, who's lucky to avoid a booking there.
25' Inter counter and Brozovic carries the ball forward. He evades Walace with Barella streaking away ahead of him, but his pass down the right for Barella rolls into touch!
24' Udinese have won each of their last four Serie A games, and could reach five consecutive wins in the top-flight for the first time since December 2017 under Massimo Oddo.
M. Škriniar
Own Goal
22' GOOOAAAALLLL!!!! There's the equaliser!!! It's been coming, as Pereyra whips the free-kick in the box. Becao perhaps gets a slight touch to it, but either way the ball bounces off an unsuspecting Skriniar and into the net!!! 1-1, and that equaliser gets Ude right back into this one!
H. Mkhitaryan
Yellow Card
21' Pereyra surges down the right before cutting inside, and he glides past Mkhitaryan before being taken to ground by the Armenian, who picks up his side's second yellow card of the match.
19' The ball comes to Walace in midfield, who attempts a wild shot from about 40 yards out, but Brozovic is all over him and blocks the effort just after it's left the Brazilian's boot.
15' Makengo finds Udogie in space down the left, but his first-time cross from the byline is straight into the arms of Handanovic.
15' Among current Serie A sides, Inter are on the longest run without a draw in the competition (15 games) - the Nerazzurri have won 12 games in this period, more than any other team since April, losing three times.
A. Bastoni
Yellow Card
13' Bastoni loses out to Beto and Pereyra races forward with it, but he's clipped by the Inter defender and Bastoni picks up the first yellow card of the match.
12' Makengo's long ball for Deulofeu takes a deflection off Dumfries and gains Udinese a corner. Deulofeu whips it in, but Handanovic gets a big hand to the ball and punches clear.
10' Udinese haven’t won a Serie A game against Inter since December 2017. Since then, the Nerazzurri have gone nine games unbeaten, winning seven and also keeping seven clean sheets in this period.
8' Martinez uses his strength to bring down a high ball, and finds Darmian surging down the left. The ball comes to him, and he looks to cut inside Becao, but the Udinese defender stands his ground and wins the ball back.
7' An Udinese corner is only half-cleared by Inter and it falls to Deulofeu in the box, who chests the ball down before firing a volley over the bar!
7' Inter have lost only two of their last 19 Serie A away games against Udinese, the last of which was a 3-0 drubbing in January 2013. They’ve managed 11 wins and six draws in this period, and are on their way to number 12 within minutes of this game!
N. Barella
Goal
5' GOOOOOAAAAAALLLLL!!!! Thunderbolt!!! Barella steps up to take the free-kick, and calmly curls it straight over the wall and beyond Silvestri into the top corner!!! No way Silvestri was stopping that, with that peach of a free-kick giving Inter an early 1-0 lead!
4' Darmian cuts inside off his wing and looks to play a one-two with Martinez, but is brought down by Perez and wins a free-kick right on the edge of the Udinese box!
2' WIDE!!! Pereyra skilfully wins possession and sends Deulofeu down the right. He cuts the ball back to the edge of the box, where Lovric arrives and smashes a first-time shot just wide of the far post!
1' Beto kicks off for the hosts, and we are off and running in Udine!
The teams are out on the pitch, and we're almost ready for kick-off here!
Inter needed an 89th-minute winner from Marcelo Brozovic to sneak a 1-0 win past Torino in their last game, and the Serbian starts at the base of their five-man midfield. He’ll be looking to supply Edin Dzeko and Lautaro Martinez up top, the latter of whom has three goals so far this season.
Le Zebrette have won their last four games on the bounce, scoring 10 goals and conceding just two. Beto scored four of these and lies joint-second in the league for goals, and netted a brace in the 3-1 win at Sampdoria last time out.
INTER SUBS: Alex Cordaz, Andre Onana, Roberto Gagliardini, Stefan de Vrij, Robin Gosens, Joaquin Correa, Raoul Bellanova, Kristjan Asllani, Federico Dimarco, Danilo D’Ambrosio, Valentin Carboni, Mattia Zanotti.
INTER (3-5-2): Samir Handanovic; Milan Skriniar, Francesco Acerbi, Alessandro Bastoni; Denzel Dumfries, Nicolo Barella, Marcelo Brozovic, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, Matteo Darmian; Edin Dzeko, Lautaro Martinez.
UDINESE SUBS: Daniele Padelli, Edoardo Piana, Festy Ebosele, Tolgay Arslan, Isaac Success, Mato Jajalo, James Abankwah, Bram Nuytinck, Kingsley Ehizibue, Enzo Ebosse, Lazar Samardzic, Ilija Nestorovski, Axel Guessand, Simone Pafundi.
UDINESE (3-5-2): Marco Silvestri; Rodrigo Becao, Jaka Bijol, Nehuen Perez; Roberto Pereyra, Sandi Lovric, Walace, Jean-Victor Makengo, Destiny Udogie; Beto, Gerard Deulofeu.
In a very tightly-packed top seven, Inter sit sixth, but could also climb five places on the ladder up to first with a win. They’ve won four and lost two of their first six, and between them, these two sides have only drawn once in their 12 combined games so far.
The hosts have been Serie A’s surprise package so far this season, and sit fourth on 13 points. A win over Inter, who are a point and two places behind them, could take them to the summit of the table, if other results go their way.
Hello, and welcome to live coverage of this Serie A fixture, as Udinese take on Inter Milan at Stadio Friuli.
