PSV's two-goal victory puts them hot on the heels of Arsenal at the top of Group A, and now sit just two points behind them heading into the final round of matches. Arsenal will still feel they have enough to beat Zurich in their final match to win the group, but will certainly be looking over their shoulders at a PSV side who produced some spellbindingly good attacking sequences throughout this game.
PSV couldn't find an onside goal in the first half, but the introduction of Luuk De Jong at half-time changed the dynamics of the game. His hold-up play set up the first, and his heading ability scored the second, and the returning PSV captain used these to devastating effect throughout the half. He created two chances after passing eight times in the final third, and also won seven of 10 aerial duels to keep Arsenal's defenders guessing. Target.
The final whistle goes to seal a commanding victory for PSV, who simply outclassed Arsenal in every area to win comfortably! The hosts more than made up for their two disallowed goals in the first half, starting the second with two quick-fire goals from Veerman and De Jong. Gakpo had another ruled out for offside, and the Gunners had no answer to PSV's well-oiled attacking machine. It's a first defeat for Arsenal in Europe this season, who were thoroughly second best in this one, and PSV will now have renewed home of pipping the Gunners to top spot in Group A on matchday six.

Simons' brilliant individual goal was sadly chalked off, but the young Netherlands midfielder had one hell of a half, completing four passes in the final third and testing Ramsdale with an early shot from distance. He has also won the ball three times to begin PSV's attacks from the front. Promise.
A high-octane first half ends, with the PSV faithful dumbfounded as to why they're not 1-0 up! After a fast-paced, end-to-end battle that saw few clear-cut chances, Simons' brilliant goal was unfortunately chalked off by VAR. Gakpo also saw an offside goal ruled out, and the hosts will certainly be hoping it's third time lucky in the second half. Arsenal have arguably created more chances, but haven't tested Benitez enough and so it's still goalless, but the next 45 minutes certainly look likely to feature a goal or two.

Leading the Arsenal line is Eddie Nketiah, who has two in the Europa League so far. Behind him in midfield is Granit Xhaka, whose goal proved the difference in the reverse fixture, while Aaron Ramsdale makes his European debut between the sticks for the Gunners.
PSV captain Cody Gakpo has been in terrific form in Europe this season, and sits second in the scoring charts with three goals from four games. He hasn’t scored in the last two though, including a 5-0 win over Zurich, so Arsenal will be hoping they can keep him quiet down that left flank, as they did at the Emirates last time out.

Granit Xhaka’s 71st minute strike won it for Arsenal in the home fixture, who come into this match with four wins from four in the group so far, and Mikel Arteta's side will fancy their chances of extending that 100 per cent record.
Having lost 1-0 in their rearranged fixture at the Emirates in their last European outing, PSV will be hoping to get revenge on the Gunners at home, and although it's unlikely they'll unseat Arsenal at the top of the group, they can all but secure second place ahead of Bodo/Glimt with a win in this match.
