Two Germany-based players are among those who are on trial at the Naturena-based giants

While some clubs have signed new players ahead of next month's PSL transfer window, Kaizer Chiefs are assessing trialists.
The players who are being assessed are hoping to impress the club's head coach Arthur Zwane and earn themselves contracts with the Soweto giants.
GOAL takes a look at the four players who are currently on trial at Chiefs.

  1. Neymar Canhembe

    Neymar Canhembe

    The Mozambique international is a free agent after parting with Portuguese club Maritimo's reserve team at the end of last season.
    Canhembe, who is an attacking midfielder by trade, has turned out for the Sporting Lisbon youth academy and Victoria FC reserve team.
    The 25-year-old also had a stint with LD Maputo in his home country.

  2. Maurizio Macorig

    Maurizio Macorig

    The 25-year-old centre-back is currently on the books of Regionalliga (German fifth division) side CfR Pforzheim.
    Having been nurtured in Bundesliga Two outfit Karlsruhe's academy, Macorig has gone on to turn out for clubs in the lower division of German football.
    He is contracted to Pforzheim until June 2025 having signed a contract extension last week before coming to SA for trials at Chiefs.

  3. Stanley Ratifo

    Stanley Ratifo

    The towering centre-forward is a Mozambique international who was born and bred in Germany.
    He is currently on the books of Pforzheim having joined the club this season, but he has been allowed to undergo trials at Chef's with the Regionalliga having taken a break until March next year.
    Ratifo has scored three times in 18 matches for Mozambique and he turned out for the Mambas during the 2019 Cosafa Cup in South Africa.

  4. Christian Saile Bombouli

    Christian Saile Bombouli

    The DR Congolese striker is one of the top strikers in the Zambian Super League, where he is on the books of Nchanga Rangers.
    Saile, who began his career at DR Congolese side Saint Eloi Lupopo, played a key role in helping Rangers secure promotion to the elite league from Division One last term.
    The 22-year-old signed a two-year extension in February and that deal will keep him at Rangers until the end of next season.

    What are Chiefs looking for?

    Zwane has confirmed that they are  keen to reinforce the striking department with several strikers having been profiled by the club.
    Chiefs have also been credited with an interest in SuperSport United star Luke Fleurs and this means the Soweto giants are also looking to beef up their defence.

    The PSL transfer window will only open on January 1 and local professional clubs will be allowed to register their new signings.
    The window is scheduled to close on January 31.
