Ghana got their World Cup campaign back on track following the morale-boosting victory over the Asian side

Jordan Ayew was the inspiration behind Ghana's 3-2 victory against South Korea with his pin-point deliveries directed into goal by Mohammed Salisu and Mohammed Kudus in a brilliant first half.

The Crystal Palace forward turned from villain to hero with his two assists after his errors cost the Black Stars two late goals against Portugal on matchday one.

Salisu also had a good game although he was at fault for South Korea's first goal while Kudus continued to impress with another starring role, scoring a brace this time around.

However, it was a game to forget for Inaki Williams, who struggled again upfront. GOAL runs through the winners and losers for the Black Stars at the Education City Stadium.

    Winner: Mohammed Kudus

The Ajax star was the match winner with his two goals propelling his side to the morale-boosting win.

Kudus' ability to smell opportunities saw him get in the right place at the right time to head in Jordan Ayew's cross for Ghana's second after 34 minutes. He was also in the box at the right time once more to slot in Gideon Mensah's cross for 3-2, a few minutes after the Koreans had pulled level.

It was not just goals that he brought to the game, however, as he was all over the pitch with his movement troubling the South Korea backline while his vision was also excellent.

The 23-year-old also made history by becoming the first Black Stars player to ever score two goals in a World Cup game and he will be required to continue the rich vein of form when Ghana face Uruguay in their final group match.

While Kudus was shining, Williams was struggling in what was a second straight game that he failed to impress.

The former Spain international led the line again but could not get on the end of the opportunities that fell his way, especially from Kudus' passes and Jordan Ayew's crosses.

Williams' movement left a lot to be desired as he failed to utilise his pace and tenacity against the Asian side who found it easy to mark him out of the game.

Ghana's third goal summed up the 28-year-old bad day at the office as after Mensah brought a delightful cross in the box, Williams, who was unmarked in the box, fluffed the opportunity before Kudus finished it off.

Coach Otto Addo might have to rethink whom he starts upfront in the crucial final group game against Uruguay.

  3. Winner: Mohammed Salisu

The Southampton defender was immense in both boxes, scoring Ghana's opening goal while also heading away a number of dangerous situations for his side.

Salisu, whose challenge on Cristiano Ronaldo yielded the now controversial penalty awarded to Portugal in the first match, did not look troubled by the incident as he made nine challenges and blocked two shots, including one in the dying minutes as Korea searched for an equaliser.

He did more than what he was required as he poked home Ghana's first goal from Jordan Ayew's free-kick, becoming the first defender from the West African country to score at the World Cup.

He was, however, at fault for South Korea's opener when he failed to deal with Gue-Sung Cho who got on his wrong side to score.

  4. Loser: Andre Ayew

    Loser: Andre Ayew

The Black Stars captain did not have a good game by his standards especially after being deployed just behind the striker.

Ayew constantly found himself drifting in wide areas and did not create any chances for his teammates in the 78 minutes he was on the pitch.

Having scored against Portugal, a lot was expected from the senior Ayew but he was overshadowed by his younger brother.

The 32-year-old did not make any runs in dangerous areas as he did on matchday one and also struggled to help his team out defensively, managing only two clearances before he went off for Daniel-Kofi Kyereh with 12 minutes remaining.

Much maligned after his two costly errors against Portugal, most Black Stars fans must have been furious when his name appeared in the starting XI but he silenced his doubters almost immediately.

Playing on the left wing, Jordan was the chief creator for Ghana from wide areas with his deliveries causing the South Korean defence plenty of problems.

The Crystal Palace forward made his presence felt when his free-kick yielded Ghana's first goal through Salisu before his cross was headed in by Kudus to give the Black Stars a 2-0 half-time lead.

With South Korea playing tight at the back in the first half, there was little room for Ghana's attackers to run in behind and they relied on crosses which Jordan was on hand to provide, delivering six by the time he was taken off for Kamaldeen Sulemana 12 minutes from time.

  6. Loser: Tariq Lamptey

    Loser: Tariq Lamptey

Preferred at right-back in place of Alidu Seidu who started the opening match, the Brighton and Hove Albion defender was supposed to make Ghana a threat from wide areas but did not offer much either offensively or defensively.

Lamptey found it hard to deal with the pace of the Koreans and it was after losing his maker that Cho found an opportunity to score his side's second goal.

The 22-year-old failed to justify his selection given he did not deliver for the Black Stars going forward before he went off for Dennis Odoi after picking up a yellow card.

With Ghana facing a more offensive team in Uruguay in their next match, Addo may be tempted to go back to Seidu to deal with the threat of Darwin Nunez and co.
