<p>Having won the Champions League back in 2003, when edging out Juventus in a dramatic final penalty shootout at Old Trafford, Milan will be paying homage to that triumph in their shirt designs this season. They have said: “To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the 2002/03 Champions League victory, AC Milan is pleased to present a new special font which this season will accompany Stefano Pioli 's team on all the club's European nights.”</p>

<p>The special design will feature numbers with perforated edges, which offer a nod to the 2003 kit, while the names and numbers are set to be printed in white – rather than the black font which is used in domestic matches. Milan’s throwback styling will get a first outing on Tuesday when they <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-gb/lists/dropped-usmnt-christian-pulisic-benched-ac-milan-champions-league-newcastle/bltcbe41e38431eaa54" target="_blank">play host to Premier League side Newcastle</a> in the opening round of fixtures in Group F.</p>
