The first Clasico of the season takes place in the Spanish capital this weekend and Carlo Ancelotti's men are good value for the win

Barcelona travel to the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu on Sunday afternoon to face La Liga champions Real Madrid in the first Clasico of the season.

The Blaugrana head to the capital following an enormously disappointing 3-3 draw against Inter Milan on Wednesday evening which has left Xavi Hernandez's side facing almost certain elimination from the Champions League.

Los Blancos meanwhile were also in European action in midweek extending their unbeaten start to the campaign to 13 matches in all competitions thanks to an injury time equaliser in their 1-1 draw at Shakhtar Donetsk.

Barca's last trip to the Bernabeu saw them record a memorable 4-0 win in March, yet Xavi's men are clear outsiders for Sunday's clash with bet365 offering them at 21/10 (3.10).

That defeat six months ago is Real Madrid's only home loss in La Liga since January 2021 and Carlo Ancelotti's men are priced at 5/4 (2.25) with the draw at 13/5 (3.60).

Real Madrid vs Barcelona first goal scorer odds

Two of the Europe's greatest forwards meet in the Spanish capital this weekend, with both Karim Benzema and Robert Lewandowski desperate to show the watching world what they can do.

The Frenchman is the slight favourite to break the deadlock at 7/2 (4.50) with Barca's number nine available at 4/1 (5.00).

Elsewhere in the market Madrid's top scorer this season Vinicius Junior is offered at 11/2 (6.50) with Barca wingers Ousmane Dembele and Raphinha both priced at 10/1 (11.00).

Real Madrid vs Barcelona preview

The blow of their catastrophic midweek result in the Champions League will be difficult to get over, but Barcelona hope to lessen the pain with a victory at the Bernabeu.

Jules Kounde could return from injury although the Catalan backline remains depleted with Ronaldo Araujo, Hector Bellerin and Andreas Christensen all missing, while Memphis Depay is absent in attack.

Nevertheless, Barca boast the best defensive record in the division having conceded just one goal in eight games, although the form of Marc Andre Ter-Stegen goes a long way to explaining their impressive defensive numbers.

Madrid meanwhile have been scoring despite Karim Benzema not being at his best and they will fancy their chances of adding more salt to Barca's footballing wounds.

Thibaut Courtois has missed the last four matches in goal, and yet still Los Blancos remain unbeaten underlining the resilience that characterises this side.

Madrid have kept just one clean sheet in La Liga this season but have still won seven of their eight games and should have enough to overcome their wounded rivals.

Real Madrid vs Barcelona tips and predictions
