Liverpool transfer news and rumours today: Al-Ittihad plot late swoop for Ibrahima Konate

According to RMC Sport, Al-Ittihad are interested in Ibrahima Konate as the Saudi Pro League side are sounding out a move for the defender. The Frenchman only signed for the Reds last summer but has already made an impact at the club. However, Al-Ittihad seems to have set their targets on Liverpool as they have been linked with moves for Mohammed Salah and Joe Gomez as well.

RMC Sport has reported that their interest in Konate comes after OGC Nice's Jean-Clair Todibo rejected a potential move to Saudi Arabia. However, reports have indicated that the Reds are unwilling to part with Konate or Gomez, as Jurgen Klopp sees them as a key part of his squad. Not only that, the report has indicated that the French defender has turned down the approach but that hasn’t deterred them.

According to The Athletic, Liverpool are still in the hunt for midfield additions and are now looking into a move for Bayer Leverkusen’s Exequiel Palacios. The 24-year-old is a key part of Xabi Alonso’s plans for the future and thus the German side are unlikely to let him leave. However, reports have indicated that Leverkusen could be tempted by a big enough offer for the midfielder.

Furthermore, The Athletic has revealed that the Reds aren’t the only side in the running as Manchester United are keeping a close eye on Palacios. The Red Devils are also on the hunt for another midfielder but are yet to make an offer for anyone.

As per transfer insider Jan Aage Fjørtoft, Mohamed Salah could leave Liverpool before the end of the transfer window as interest from Saudi Arabia continues to grow. The Egyptian has been heavily linked with a move to the Saudi Pro League side Al-Ittihad. Reports have indicated that the Reds are set to receive an offer of around €150m for the 31-year-old before the window closes.

This comes despite the fact that Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has denied that Salah will leave this summer and even refuted claims that the Egyptian has asked to leave. However, Al-Ittihad are reportedly very keen on making the Egyptian their marquee star and are thus pushing for the move.

As per Football Insider, Liverpool have joined Everton, Crystal Palace and Burnley in the race to sign PSV Eindhoven star Johan Bakayoko this summer. The 20-year-old has become a hot topic as the summer window draws to a close but the Eredivisie side is yet to get an offer that matches their valuation. So much so, that they’ve already rejected two bids from the Clarets, with the latest being around £17.2m.

However, that has allowed other clubs the chance to make their move and Football Insider has reported that Liverpool are yet to make an offer as they’re only monitoring Bakayoko’s situation. Yet, the report has indicated that if an opportunity arises to get an affordable move done, the Reds will pounce on their chance.

According to CBS Sports journalist James Benge, Saudi Pro league side Al-Ittihad are prepared to offer a €150m package for Mohamed Salah. The Egyptian has been subject to interest from the Saudi Pro League over the last month and is reportedly open to leaving Liverpool for the Middle East. However, while the Reds are unwilling to part with Salah, reports have indicated that their hand could be forced.

Benge has revealed that Liverpool would be guaranteed around €100m with a further €50m in various performance-related bonuses. Not only that, the CBS Sport journalist further reported that Salah has been offered a salary package comparable to what Neymar is earning in Saudi Arabia.

The Eagles are unwilling to part with the Mali international but despite that, the Anfield side are still open to a move. The Reds are looking to reinforce their midfield, especially after losing out on Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia this summer.

However, Crystal Palace don’t want to lose any key stars and have thus placed a £70m price-tag on the 23-year-old. Yet despite that, Football Insider has reported that Liverpool are confident they can get a deal done as the Mali international is believed to be keen on a potential move to Anfield.

The 23-year-old’s future lies away from Atletico Madrid after a falling out with manager Diego Simeone but interest in the forward has been sparse. However, he has been linked with moves to Barcelona and Al-Hilal although Felix is yet to make a decision on his future.

As per journalist Rudy Galetti, Liverpool have been told by Mohamed Salah that he wants to leave this summer and sign for Saudi Pro League side Al Ittihad. The 31-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to Saudi Arabia after interest in him became known earlier this month.

However, while the Reds were unwilling to sell, the situation has now changed as Salah is reportedly keen on the move. Galetti has reported that there is an offer on the table of around £80m from Al Ittihad and that the Saudi Pro League club have set a 28th August deadline for Liverpool to reject or accept it.

According to Football Insider, Bayer Leverkusen are refusing to sell Piero Hincapie and have blocked Liverpool’s approach for the defender. The Reds are looking to sign a new center-back and have been linked with a move for the 21-year-old with them impressed by his performances last season.

But while reports have indicated that the Reds have tabled a €45m bid, Leverkusen are not looking to sell. Not only that, Florian Plettenberg has reported that Leverkusen definitely want to keep the 21-year-old at the club and that the club aren’t going to sell for any price.

According to Fichajes (via Football365), Liverpool are very keen on signing Bayer Leverkusen starlet Piero Hincapie and are prepared to table a bid worth around €45m. The 21-year-old has impressed ever since Xabi Alonso took over at Leverkusen and has looked the part, which has seen his valuation rise.

However, reports from Germany have indicated that in light of that, the Bundesliga side wants at least €70m to let Hincapie leave. That combined with the fact that the defender signed a new contract until 2027 in February means that Leverkusen are under no pressure to sell him. It does force Liverpool’s hand but Fichajes has further reported that the Reds are in talks and are confident.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Crystal Palace will only sell Cheick Doucoure if they get a ‘very big proposal’ despite interest from Liverpool. The 23-year-old midfielder has been linked with a move to Anfield although no official bid has been submitted by the Reds yet. However, despite that, the Mali international is high up on Liverpool’s shortlist as the club are looking for a versatile operator.

However, Romano has revealed that despite the interest, Palace are unwilling to part with a key star for anything less than a big money fee. Reports have indicated that the Eagles are looking for something north of £70m, a fee that the Reds may not be able to afford this summer.

According to GloboEsporte, Fluminense have blocked any approach from Liverpool for Andre despite the Reds being willing to offer around €30m for the midfielder. The Anfield side are keen on signing the Brazilian this summer as a replacement for Fabinho who left for Saudi Arabia. However, they’ve struggled to reach an agreement with Fluminense, who want to keep the 22-year-old until January.

Andre does have a contract until December 2026 and with the Brazilian side in contention to win the Copa Libertadores, they don’t want to let a key player leave. However, GloboEsporte has reported that Liverpool are adamant about signing Andre and believes they can strike a deal.

According to TalkSPORT, Liverpool are discussing the possibility of potentially signing Kalvin Phillips this summer after missing out on Romeo Lavia and Moises Caicedo. The Reds were heavily linked with a move for both midfielders but Chelsea won the race in the end. It saw the club sign Wataru Endo but despite that, the Reds are looking to bring in one more midfielder.

That has seen them look towards Phillips again especially after the arrival of Mateo Kovacic which has seen the 27-year-old’s game-time reduce. So much so, that TalkSPORT has revealed that the midfielder might consider leaving. However, at the moment, the report has indicated that the England international is still looking at his options which does include staying at City.

According to the Mirror, Liverpool are set to battle Manchester United over a potential move for Ryan Gravenberch this summer. The Reds are still looking to improve their squad and believe that the Dutch midfielder is the perfect option for them. However, Bayern Munich have been unwilling to let the 21-year-old leave although reports have now indicated otherwise.

The Mirror has revealed the German champions are open to letting Gravenberch leave if they get an offer of around £22m. Not only that, the club are willing to compromise and let the 21-year-old leave on loan, something that appeals to both Premier League sides. Furthermore, the Mirror has also reported that both English sides have already tabled contract offers to the 21-year-old’s representatives although they’re yet to submit an official bid.

According to Football Insider, Liverpool have pulled the plug on a potential move for Joao Palhinha because of the midfielder’s injury and other issues with the deal. The Reds have been looking to reinforce their midfield this summer and have already signed three new faces. Liverpool have submitted a bid of up to £110m total fee for Brighton's Moises Caicedo, according to Fabrizio Romano. The club are hoping to seal the deal by Friday as they beat Chelsea for his signature.

Saudi club, Al-Ahli, have made a €12m bid for Liverpool midfielder Thiago Alcantara, according to Le'Equipe.

According to Brazilian news outlet NetFlu, Liverpool still maintains an interest in signing Fluminense midfielder Andre this summer after being rejected by Southampton. The Reds have been negotiating a potential deal for Romeo Lavia but have had three bids turned down by the Saints, including their latest offer of around £45m.

It has seen them reportedly consider other targets with Fluminense’s Andre at the top of that shortlist as he has a €40m release clause in his contract. However, NetFlu has reported that the Brazilian outfit doesn’t want to lose the 22-year-old now and will only let him leave in January.

According to Al Riyadiah, Saudi Pro League's Al Ittihad is preparing a substantial £60 million bid for Mohamed Salah with the club very keen on signing the Egyptian this summer. As per Sport, Liverpool are eager to sign Andreas Christensen this summer with any move estimated at around €50 million. The Reds are actively seeking defensive reinforcements, and reports indicate that Barcelona have already rejected a bid of around €30 million. While the La Liga giants are keen on retaining Christensen, they are reportedly open to negotiation.

On the other hand, Fichajes reports that Jurgen Klopp, Liverpool's manager, has a preference for a young, left-sided defender to groom into a world-class talent. According to the Mirror, Liverpool are in contention to sign Kylian Mbappe as the Frenchman would be open to a loan move to Anfield this summer. Liverpool have reportedly added Manchester City’s Kalvin Phillips to their list of potential replacements for Saudi-bound Fabinho, as per The Athletic’s David Ornstein. The Brazilian is set to leave this summer and while his proposed move to Al-Ittihad has been delayed, the Reds have already created a shortlist of players to replace him.

The report has indicated that Phillips, Cheick Doucoure, Romeo Lavia, Sofyan Amrabat and Ryan Gravenberch are their top candidates. However, several journalists have reported that Lavia remains Liverpool’s top option with the Reds currently in talks with Southampton over a move. Liverpool has emerged as the frontrunner to secure the signing of Romeo Lavia, according to German football expert Florian Plettenberg. While an agreement is yet to be reached on Southampton's desired £50m fee, Plettenberg reports that the 19-year-old midfielder has given the green light to join the Reds.

The Saints are reportedly seeking around £50m, but no official offers have been submitted thus far although one may not be far away. The Belgian has attracted interest from other clubs, including Arsenal, but Liverpool has already initiated negotiations with the St Mary’s side. Furthermore, journalist Sacha Tavolieri has also reported that the Reds are set to submit an initial offer of around £35m.

As per journalist Sacha Tavolieri, Liverpool are still the club that are “most keen” on signing João Palhinha this summer although Fulham are looking at a potential fee of around £60m. The Reds have been looking to improve their midfield this summer, having already signed Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai, and Tavolieri has stated that Palhinha could be the next to follow.

The reporter has indicated that "movements and developments" are expected over the course of the next few weeks as Fulham and Liverpool hash out a deal. The Cottagers have already rejected several bids for Palhinha this summer, including one worth around £45m from West Ham United.

Liverpool and Al Ettifaq have reached an agreement in principle over an initial £12m fee for the transfer of Jordan Henderson, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

The 33-year-old Henderson has already agreed to a three-year deal with Saudi Arabian side, with the necessary paperwork about to be finalised.

Al Hilal are preparing to make a €50m(£43m) offer to sign Liverpool winger Luis Diaz, according to a report from Record.

Manager Jorge Jesus is said to be a big admirer of the 26-year-old Colombia international, but as one of Jurgen Klopp's key players, it is considered "very unlikely" that the Reds would be willing to part company with him, especially with Jordan Henderson and Fabinho already closing in on their respective Saudi Pro League moves.

According to The Athletic, Jordan Henderson is considering ending his 12-year Liverpool career and accepting a lucrative offer from Steven Gerrard’s new club in Saudi Arabia, Al-Ettifaq.

The Saudi Arabian club are making a concerted effort to sign the Liverpool skipper, who was initially hesitant to leave Anfield and relocate to the Middle East with his family. The 33-year-old, however, is now weighing up a two-year contract that would double his £200,000-a-week Liverpool salary and also includes the option of a third year.

According to The Athletic, Liverpool are accelerating their pursuit of Dominik Szoboszlai from RB Leipzig. The Hungarian midfielder has been on the radar of Jurgen Klopp for some time and could be a crucial signing for the Reds.

Previous reports had suggested that Newcastle United were also competing for his signature but have pulled out of the race. Szoboszlai's release clause is reportedly set at €70m and could be a marquee signing for Klopp as he looks to revamp his side.

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Liverpool are keeping close tabs on Juventus winger Federico Chiesa, with the Bianconeri said to be considering parting ways with the 25-year-old this summer amid uncertainty over whether he plans to extend his stay at the club.

A report on Fichajes has revealed that Liverpool needs to fork out €80m for the signature of Nicolo Barella from Inter Milan. The Reds are looking to revamp their midfield after the departures of James Milner, Alex Oxlade Chamberlain and Naby Keita.

According to Fichajes, Liverpool have a strong interest in making a move for highly-rated Wolfsburg centre-back Micky Van de Ven.

As per the report, Van de Ven isn't too keen on leaving Wolfsburg, however, if an interesting offer comes he won't mind going to new pastures.

Spanish publication El Nacional has reported that Liverpool have put forward an offer worth €60m for Real Madrid's midfielder Federico Valverde. Los Blancos had previously turned down the initial offer as they are looking to garner at least €100m for the Uruguayan midfielder.

And now the report suggests that the Reds have submitted a second offer worth €80m plus add-ons for the midfielder, totalling up to Real's valuation.

With Alexis Mac Allister over the line, the Reds are looking to continue their midfield rebuild. And it seems they are in the lead in race to OGC Nice midfielder Khephren Thuram.

That's according to Football Transfers journalist Jacque Talbot, who says the Reds and Thuram have agreed to terms as his arrival at Anfield inches closer. Negotiations between the Merseysiders and the Ligue 1 club are well underway as Jurgen Klopp looks to secure the Frenchman's signature early in the transfer window.

Liverpool are edging towards bringing in Alexis Mac Allister to Anfield as 'personal terms are almost agreed' with the Brighton & Hove Albion star, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

The talks between the player's representatives and the club appear to be getting along well. Romano further adds that the Reds are set to pay Mac Allister’s exit clause which is under £70m.

According to Mirror, Liverpool have made first contact with Newcastle United regarding a possible move for their in-form midfielder Bruno Guimaraes.

Liverpool have joined the list of suitors for Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Manu Kone, reports Bild. The Reds are understood to have already made an enquiry over the 22-year-old, identifying him as a potential midfield reinforcement.

As per Calciomercatoweb, Juventus are keen on signing Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino to replace forward Dusan Vlahovic.

Liverpool’s pursuit of long-term target Mason Mount has been dealt a significant blow, with reports suggesting he now favours a move to Manchester United this summer.

According to Football Insider, Liverpool have a concrete interest in acquiring Wolverhampton Wanderers captain Ruben Neves this summer.

The 26-year-old midfielder is expected to leave the West Midlands outfit this summer and Barcelona are favorites to sign the Portuguese star, having been linked with the player for several transfer windows.
