65' GOALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!!! BENZEMA FINDS THE NET!!!!! 2-0!!!!! Madrid double their advantage as Benzema beats Trapp with a right-footed strike. Vinicius raids down the left flank and sends a cutback into the middle for the Frenchman. He takes a touch before firing at goal without a great deal of power. However, the ball travels through Trapp and hits the back of the net. The Frankfurt keeper should have done a lot better.
63' SAVE! Knauff cuts inside with menace and space opens up for him to strike at goal on his right foot. He does not make a clean connection with his shot with the outside of his boot and it allows Courtois to make the save.

54' Mendy gets forward in space down the left flank, but Knauff recovers well to prevent the Frenchman from lifting a cross into the box.
51' Casemiro displays great work rate to get back to prevent Lindstrom from finding Borre in the middle. He makes a first challenge, and although he gets beaten by the forward with a neat piece of skill, he recovers to regain the ball for Los Blancos.

46' We're back under way in Helsinki.
Madrid found their sharpness in the final third towards the end of the half and will be keen to kill off the contest early in the second. Carlo Ancelotti will have slight concerns over how much space Frankfurt were able to find on the counter, which could lead to changes after the break.
Real Madrid hold a 1-0 lead over Eintracht Frankfurt at the break in their European Super Cup clash. David Alaba broke the deadlock with a close-range finish following good work from Casemiro at the near post. Karim Benzema should have made it two, but the Frenchman fired wide of the target. The German outfit had their moments too as Daichi Kamada and Ansgar Knauff forced saves from Thibaut Courtois, but they have work ahead to get back into the contest.

D. Alaba
Real Madrid
37' GOALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!!! ALABA CONVERTS FROM CLOSE RANGE!!!!!!! 1-0 MADRID!!! Los Blancos take the lead as Alaba taps into an empty net. Kroos lifts a corner into the box and that Benzema attacks. His effort looks to be heading out, but Casemiro keeps it alive, drawing two defenders and Trapp to his position. Casemiro's knockdown falls perfectly for Alaba, who is left with a simple finish.

28' Lenz and Carvajal fly into an aerial challenge that leaves both men on the deck. The two players are back on their feet, but it shows the commitment to the cause tonight.
26' Frankfurt have looked dangerous when they've moved the ball forward. Madrid's lack of sharpness seems to be effecting their defensive capabilities rather than their attacking prowess.
24' SAVE! Frankfurt sustain the pressure and Rode rolls an offload to Knauff on the edge of the box. He takes a touch to fire at goal, forcing Courtois into a fine stop on the deck before Madrid clear the danger.
24' Kamada and Lindstrom combine in the final third for the German outfit, but the latter sees his cross towards Borre deflected away by Militao.
21' Borre tries to turn away from Casemiro in the middle of the park and gets caught on his ankles, winning a free-kick for the German outfit.
18' Modric collects in the Frankfurt box and tries to feed a pass towards Vinicius, only to send his offload out for a goal-kick.
17' OFF THE LINE! Tuta prevents Vinicius from breaking the deadlock. Valverde sweeps a low cross into the box from the right flank to Benzema, who opts against the strike to tee up Vinicius in space. The Brazil international fires his effort past Trapp, only to see Tuta slide in to clear the ball off the line.
16' Vinicius puts the pressure on Toure and wins the ball on the byline. He skips past the covering Tuta, only to lose possession at the vital moment before he can fire at goal.
14' SAVE! Courtois denies Kamada with a solid stop. Lindstrom threads the needle to release the forward in the inside-left channel with space and time to pick his spot. Kamada dwells slightly on his strike, but still gets a good connection. Courtois watches it all the way and makes the save, pushing the ball away from goal.
12' OFFSIDE! Borre turns the ball around the corner for Lindstram to chase in the Madrid box. He fires hard at goal, but sees his effort well saved by Courtois. The offside flag goes up late, but no one on the field knew that.
9' Toure takes a risk at the back as he allows the ball to bounce in the Frankfurt box, but he recovers in time to clear ahead of Vincius.
8' Valverde makes good progress down the right flank and wins a corner off the legs of Ndicka, who cannot prevent the set-piece.
7' Valverde probes down the right flank, but good defending from Lenz edges the ball away from the midfielder and out for a throw-in.
4' Vinicius tries to rob Sow in possession, but just catches the midfielder with a loose boot and gives away a free-kick.
2' Madrid are attempting to knock the ball around the middle of the park to build a rhythm. It will be interesting to see how they adapt to the pace of a competitive game tonight.
1' We're under way in Helsinki.
Real Madrid can join AC Milan and Barcelona with the most Super Cup wins with a victory tonight.
Frankfurt have made two changes to their side that lost 6-1 to Bayern on the opening day of the Bundesliga. Filip Kostic is reportedly on the verge of joining Juventus and is absent from the squad tonight. He is replaced by Lenz at left-wing back. Gotze drops to the bench as Kamada replaces the German in the final third.
Ancelotti names an unchanged side from the Champions League final for the clash tonight. Benzema, Vinicius and Valverde form a three-man attack ahead of Modric, Kroos and Casemiro. The continuity continues at the back with Carvajal, Militao, Alaba and Mendy operating in front of Courtois. Tchouameni and Rudiger start on the bench, but could be handed their debuts tonight.

Frankfurt started the off their season in the worst possible manner, suffering a 6-1 hammering at home at the hands of Bayern Munich. Oliver Glasner's men were blown away by Bayern in the final third and will need a response tonight to improve their confidence. They were excellent throughout their run to the Europa League crown and will need to channel that level of performance tonight.
Madrid return to competitive action for the first time since their Champions League triumph over Liverpool courtesy of Vinicius Junior's strike. Carlo Ancelotti will be desperate to start the new campaign by adding further silverware to the trophy cabinet to set the tone from the off. There have not been sweeping changes at the Bernabeu in the summer, but there could be a chance for new players Antonio Rudiger and Aurelien Tchouameni to make an impact off the bench.
Good evening and welcome to the live commentary of the European Super Cup clash between Real Madrid and Eintracht Frankfurt at Helsinki Olympic Stadium.
