Thanks for joining our commentary. Until next time, goodbye.
Next up, Liverpool travel to Goodison Park to face Everton, with Newcastle hosting Crystal Palace.
Liverpool win back-to-back games in the Premier League for the first time this season with what was virtually the last kick of the game. Carvalho was the scorer, crashing the ball in to send Anfield into raptures after the hosts had been left frustrated by the visitors' time-wasting tactics for most of the second half. Firmino equalled the scoring after putting away a pass from Salah earlier on, cancelling out Isak’s first half opener that gave Newcastle the lead at the break.

It’s been a perfect first half performance from Newcastle, who are missing Callum Wilson, Bruno Guimaraes and Saint-Maximin. They have defended well, blocking a host of Liverpool’s shots, with Salah and Diaz having little of the ball. For the hosts, they must transition through the pitch faster. When Newcastle committed men forward, Klopp’s men have been too slow to move the ball up the pitch, with Howe’s side able to get back into their defensive shape.
Newcastle are ahead at the break thanks to a debut goal from Isak. The forward latched onto a pass from Longstaff, directing the ball into the top corner. Liverpool ended the first half with 72.5 per cent possession and eight corners but are yet to trouble Pope in the Newcastle goal. The closest the Reds came to scoring was through Diaz, who blazed the ball wide after going around the goalkeeper.

45' + 4' Alexander-Arnold and Robertson both put in corners, but both come to nothing with the ball hacked away from danger.

45' + 1' Liverpool have had 69.9 per cent of possession so far, but have failed to test Pope in the Newcastle goal.
44' Lots of players going down after tackles for Newcastle. Klopp is not impressed.
43' Henderson looks to flick the ball to Salah inside the box, but the midfielder gets it wrong with Pope collecting the ball.
41' Alexander-Arnold whips the ball in low with power, but Trippier clears the ball away.
S. Longstaff
Newcastle United
38' Longstaff latched onto the ball after Henderson lost possession. Nobody was marking Isak, who scores his first goal for Newcastle.
A. Isak
Newcastle United
38' GOAALLL! ISAK SCORES! 1-0 NEWCASTLE! It’s a clinical finish by Isak. Longstaff passes the ball to the forward, who smashes the ball past the goalkeeper from close range.
37' There have been six shots so far (three for each side), but only one on target, with that effort being Trippier's tame free-kick.
34' BIG CHANCE! Firmino plays the ball to Diaz, who runs around Pope in the Newcastle net. Off-balance, the winger blazes the ball over.
33' Longstaff wins the ball in the Liverpool half before passing the ball to Fraser who is fouled by Gomez. Just outside of shooting range.
31' Newcastle are winless in 11 Premier League games against Liverpool (D4 L7), since a 2-0 home win in December 2015 under Steve McClaren.
28' Trippier hits a tame free-kick, with the ball going straight into the hands of Alisson who did not move from the middle of the goal.
27' Newcastle have a free-kick on the edge of the box after Fabinho clashes with Willock. Big shooting chance for the away side. Trippier to take.
26' Salah cuts the ball back to the feet of Gomez, but the defender's shot is blocked.
25' Diaz and Robertson combine well down the left, with his cross cleared away for a corner.
22' Alexander-Arnold looks for Salah down the right, with Targett clearing the ball away for a corner. However, Lascelles clears away the following cross.

17' Targett has dealt with Salah well so far. The winger has struggled to get onto the ball, with Diaz having more of it.
14' Nice work from Newcastle on the edge, with Joelinton passing the ball into the box. With nobody anticipating the pass, Alisson picks the ball up unchallenged.
12' Isak has his first shot in a Newcastle shirt. Cutting inside after receiving the ball from Willock, the striker curls his shot over the bar. Alisson never looked concerned.
10' Lascelles is now complaining for Newcastle. Clearing the ball away from danger, Diaz runs into his leg, taking him down in the process.
9' Elliott sprays a pass to the feet of Robertson who cuts inside. Travelling into the box, Almiron tracks his run and wins possession of the ball.
7' Fraser was unhappy after he felt Alexander-Arnold had unfairly brought him down. On the break, Diaz has his low shot blocked.
4' Pope is back to his feet and will continue.

Lascelles, Targett and Fraser all come into the team, with Schar and Botman dropping to the bench, and Allan Saint-Maximin out of the squad through injury. New striker Isak also makes his debut after being granted a work permit earlier today.
After their 9-0 victory over Bournemouth, Jurgen Klopp decides to name an unchanged team. Matip and Curtis return to the bench, with striker Darwin Nunez serving the final match of his three-game ban after his red card against Crystal Palace.

Newcastle have started the season strongly and are unbeaten in their first four matches. However, they have failed to win a league game since the opening day of the season. Beating Nottingham Forest at St. James' Park, Eddie Howe's men then drew against Brighton & Hove Albion, Manchester City and Wolves. A win at Anfield would see them move into fifth place.
Liverpool will be looking to secure back-to-back Premier League wins for the first time this season after their emphatic 9-0 victory over Bournemouth last time out. Before their triumph on the weekend, the Reds had failed to win any of their first three games, drawing against Fulham and Crystal Palace before losing to Manchester United. Jurgen Klopp’s men are one point behind Newcastle, so will overtake today’s opponent with victory.
