The American Express Community Stadium
(FT 1 - 1)

That's all from us, we'll see you for the next one. Until then, goodbye!
England march on to the semi-finals for the fourth time in four consecutive major finals, but they know that even sterner tests are yet to come. Spain gave the Lionesses their toughest test of the tournament by a country mile, but head home at the quarter-final stage despite dominating large swathes of that game. La Roja are still yet to reach the semi-finals of any international tournament.
Stanway's winner richly capped off a fantastic performance from the England central midfielder. That was her only shot on target throughout the match, but creatively she was influential too, completing a team-high 19 passes in the final third. Defensively, she won possession eight times, including via three interceptions, and alongside Walsh helped screen an England back four that was often at risk of exposure. Winner.
It's all over!!! Georgia Stanway's brilliant winner sends England through to the semi-finals! What a dogged game that was, with both sides throwing everything at each other, and despite Spain being the better side for large parts of the game, the Lionesses stood up when it mattered and scored two late goals to progress to the last four! What a game, and what a tournament, and its hosts England are far from finished yet!
120' + 4' Leon fires a long ball forward for Sarriegi, but Earps gets there first and holds onto the ball for as long as she can!
120' + 2' Greenwood is caught by a high Spanish boot, and wins a free-kick for England with full-time just seconds away.
120' + 1' We'll play four more minutes of added time, and it's now or never for Spain to rescue this game!
120' + 1' Panos can't get her head to the corner ball as Greenwood flicks it away, and England clear their lines once more!
120' It's Spain's last chance as Bonmati wins a corner, and forward comes the goalkeeper Panos into the England box!
A. Greenwood
Yellow Card
119' Greenwood takes an age to take the England free-kick, and is subsequently shown a yellow card by the referee for time-wasting.
119' The midfield battle becomes a sluggish one, with the ball headed back and forth before Kelly draws a foul from Batlle.
N. Parris
L. Hemp
117' After a quiet first-half, Hemp has excelled for England, and she comes off now for Nikita Parris.
J. Scott
K. Walsh
116' Walsh is forced off with that injury, and is replaced by veteran midfielder Jill Scott.
115' Walsh has cramped up following a challenge in midfield, and at this late stage, it looks likely she'll have to come off.
113' Bright's been a rock for England at the back, making a whopping eight clearances as well as two tackles and interceptions apiece. She's also won two aerial duels, and has entered the final third twelve times, helping to drive England forward from the back.
111' England deal with two crossing attempts from Spain, with Bright at the forefront once again, and the hosts survive once more with time ticking down.
110' Garcia takes on Greenwood and looks set to cross, but Toone steps in to hoof it behind for a Spain corner.
109' OVER!!! A brilliant long pass picks out Sarriegi, but she's crowded out by Bright and Williamson, before Carmona blasts the rebound over!
107' England break as Kelly surges down the right. She takes on Carmona and wins a corner, which the Lionesses will be in no hurry to take.
106' WIDE!!! Spain fly out of the blocks as Garcia gets away from Greenwood. She cuts it back to Bonmati, but the midfielder can only pull an off-balance shot wide of the post!
106' England kick off for what they hope is the last time in this game, and they're just 15 minutes away from the semi-finals!
It's advantage England following that beauty of a strike from Stanway. Her goal was worthy of winning any game, and if England can hang onto the lead for just 15 more minutes, they'll be in the last four. Will they hold on?
105' We'll play a minute of added time to end the first period of extra time.
104' After it's initially cleared by England, Spain recycle possession and Garcia crosses for Guijarro, but she can't get her header on target and it goes behind.
103' WIDE!!! Sarriegi looks to get past Bright and pulls the trigger, but her left-footed shot on the turn takes a nick off Bright and goes just wide for a corner!
103' Garcia charges down the right wing and takes on Greenwood. She can't get past her, so squares for Bonmati, whose first-time shot is blocked by Walsh!
102' A lofted pass towards Sarriegi bounces cruelly out of her path, and it's headed back to Earps by Bronze.
Amaiur Sarriegi
Mariona Caldentey
100' Caldentey has been far less effective than in the first half, and comes off for Spain, to be replaced by Amaiur Sarriegi.
99' Del Castillo, who has switched to the left, takes on Bronze and crosses, but Earps gets down to the ball and holds it for England.
98' Back come Spain as Batlle crosses, but Bronze rises high to head it away from danger, despite Bonmati arriving late!
K. Walsh
96' The assist from Walsh wasn't much of one, with that goal all Stanway's, but the two have helped England hang on in this game and prevented them from being overrun in midfield.
G. Stanway
96' GOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAALLLLLLL!!!!! What. A. Strike!!! Stanway drives forward to the edge of the box, and with no-one near her, has a crack at goal. It's a sumptuous finish that flies across goal and into the top corner, and the entire stadium goes crazy!! What a goal from England's best player in this game, and they're 2-1 up in extra time!!!
95' Kelly attempts to flick the ball past Batlle, but the Spain right-back touches it back to Leon. Russo steams forward for the loose ball, but La Roja's defence is able to hold firm.
94' Earps is almost caught out by the press of Garcia, who bears down on her but can't prevent the England goalkeeper finding Bright in support.
92' CHANCE!!! Walsh picks out the run of Hemp with an absolute peach of a throughball, and Hemp's cut-back is put behind by Leon!
91' Caldentey kicks off for Spain, and the first half of extra time is underway!
Extra time awaits as it finishes level! Gonzalez's goal early in the second half looked to have potentially sewn up the game for Spain, who continued to dominate until Toone popped up at the back post to prod home England's equaliser! Another half-hour, at least, is needed to decide this quarter-final, and will England's late flurry see them continue their momentum?
90' + 6' END OF 90: ENGLAND 1-1 SPAIN.
90' + 5' Spain fly forward for their likely last attack, but Carmona's cross lands on the roof of the net.
90' + 4' Panos' punch away from the corner is latched onto by Greenwood, who looks to cross for Kelly but sees the aerial pass cut out.

90' + 1' We'll play five minutes of added time, with thirty more of extra time waiting if neither side can find a winner here.
89' After Russo is barrelled over by Leon, Bronze fires a cross back into the area, but Hemp is offside and the free-kick will go Spain's way.
Yellow Card
88' Spain's players and staff weren't happy with the awarding of that goal, thinking a foul had occurred, and the referee eventually heads over to the bench and books their substitute goalkeeper, Misa Rodriguez.
86' SAVED!!! Spain race forward from the kick-off, and Caldentey tries her luck from distance, but the fizzing shot is caught by Earps for England!
A. Russo
84' A pinpoint cross from Hemp, and an even better header from Russo, who teed up her Manchester United team-mate Toone to score an all-important goal for England!
E. Toone
84' GOOOOOOOAAAAAALLLLLL!!!!! England equalise!!!!! Stanway glides through Spain's midfield before finding Hemp. After one cross is deflected, she crosses for Russo, who's header down is latched onto by Toone, arriving late to stab it beyond Panos and into the back of the net!!! The Lionesses finally have a breakthrough, and it's 1-1 with less than 10 minutes of normal time to go!
A. Greenwood
R. Daly
82' Daly's had a game to forget since Del Castillo came onto the pitch, and she's replaced at left-back by Alex Greenwood.
80' More good play from Spain, who keep the ball on the edge of the box and spread it wide to Batlle, who's cross is deflected off Daly.
79' BLOCKED!!! Caldentey's free-kick is headed away by Williamson, but Garcia smashes a volley back towards goal! Toone blocks it, but can't clear it, and the ball goes behind for another Spanish corner!
Sheila García
Esther González
77' Gonzalez's goal is the difference between these two sides at the moment, and the potential match-winner comes off for Sheila Garcia.
76' OVER!!! England have three chances to score, but can't take any! A cross is headed away to Toone, whose volley is blocked. Stanway follows in, but her effort is deflected towards Hemp, and she can't find the target as she blazes over the bar!
75' Forward come England as Bronze plays it forward to Hemp. She crosses for Kelly in space down the left, but it's headed away by Paredes.
73' Del Castillo gets past Daly once more, and looks for Gonzalez again but the final ball is a poor one and goes astray.
71' Russo heads down an aerial ball for Toone to hit, but the referee pulls play back for a Spain free-kick.
Laia Aleixandri
Teresa Abelleira
71' Abelleira comes off in Spain's latest change, with Laia Aleixandri replacing her in the centre of midfield.
69' Kelly skilfully wins England a corner, and her delivery is punched behind at the near post by Panos.
67' SAVED!! Daly and Walsh link up superbly as the left-back strides forward. She cuts inside and shoots for the top corner, but Panos is able to save it with ease!
66' Del Castillo escapes Daly again and fizzes in a cross, but the England left-back gets a touch that sends the ball into Earps' gloves.
65' OFF THE LINE!!! Del Castillo whips a ball into the box, and it's heading in at the far post before Earps dives backwards to tip it away from goal, and Bright clears it for England!
E. Toone
F. Kirby
64' Another change for England, as Kirby comes off for Ella Toone in their third substitution.
63' Walsh looks to pick out Kelly on the run, but Panos races out of her goal to smother the ball before the England substitute can latch onto it.
62' A fantastic touch from Russo sends Kelly down the wing. She crosses into the box, and it's knocked away by Paredes, with Hemp shepherding it out for the England corner.
61' Bright's long ball into the box is headed down by Russo, and Hemp looks to shoot before going down under pressure from Batlle! The players and fans scream for a penalty, but the referee gives a free-kick the other way!
A. Russo
E. White
58' White also comes off for the Lionesses, as Wiegman brings on Alessia Russo, who bagged a brace against Northern Ireland.
C. Kelly
B. Mead
58' England ring the changes, bringing off the tournament's top scorer Mead for Chloe Kelly.
56' England started the half positively, but now find themselves a goal behind. How will they respond, given that's the very first time they've let in a goal at this tournament?
Athenea del Castillo
54' What a touch there from the substitute Del Castillo, getting past a flying Daly before teeing up Gonzalez to squeeze the ball into the net!
Esther González
54' GOOOOAAAALLLLL!!!! La Roja lead!!!! Del Castillo races onto a wide pass, cuts inside Daly and then races up to the byline. She cuts the ball back to Gonzalez, who takes a touch before firing a low effort into the far corner! It's the first goal England concede at this tournament, and it's put Spain 1-0 up in the quarter-final!
53' Good play from Spain as Del Castillo links up with Bonmati in the middle. She moves onto her left foot to shoot, and does so from the edge of the box, but it's a weak effort that Earps easily holds.
52' England have won both of their previous UEFA Women’s Euro matches at the quarter-final stage, winning 3-2 versus Finland in 2009 and 1-0 against France in 2017. Spain, meanwhile, have lost both of their matches at this stage of the competition – both in the last two tournaments (1-3 v Norway in 2013 and a penalty shootout defeat to Austria in 2017).
50' Daly crosses into the box, and Mead leaves it for Bronze. She smashes a half-volleyed cross back into the danger area, but it's behind all the white shirts in the box and Spain recover possession.
49' Bronze releases Stanway, who fires a pass across the box to White, but she's a mile offside and drags a poor shot wide.
48' Williamson collides with Caldentey in the box from the England free-kick, with another given Spain's way for the foul.
46' Mead nips in behind Cardona and almost plays in White, but is caught late by the Spain left-back and wins an early free-kick.
46' White kicks off for England, and the crowd rises as the second half gets underway!
Athenea del Castillo
Marta Cardona
46' Spain surprisingly bring off Cardona at half-time, with her Real Madrid team-mate Athenea del Castillo replacing her.
The teams head back onto the Amex pitch for the second half, and can England show what they're capable of in the second half?
Caldentey has given Bronze, Bright, Mead and Hemp all a tough time so far, having more touches than anyone else on the pitch, completing 16 passes in the final third and creating one good chance. She's also had a shot on target, as well as winning four of her seven duels, and is someone England need to do better against in the second half.
It's goalless at half-time, with Spain suffocating England's usually free-flowing attack so far. La Roja have had numerous chances, exploiting England in wide areas time and time again. The final ball hasn't been clinical enough though, and England have managed to get back into the game, with White's close range goal ruled out for offside. It's still anyone's game as the second half approaches, and the home fans will be expecting a big lift from England going forward.
45' + 1' We're into one minute of added time to see out the first half.
Mapi León
Yellow Card
45' England win the ball in midfield and Stanway surges forward. Spain are outnumbered in defence, and Leon sticks out a leg to bring down Stanway, conceding a free-kick and warranting a yellow card.
44' Spain flash a ball across the face of England's goal, but Williamson diverts it away. Batlle crosses back into the area, but Bright's header sends the ball away once more!
42' Spain have had six attempts so far, compared to just one for England. However, only one of those has been on target, allowing England to grow into the game and have some good chances of their own.
40' WIDE!!! Kirby runs out of room in the box, so passes back to Daly. She swings a cross towards White, but Hemp gets to the ball first and nods it wide!
39' Bronze brilliantly escapes Carmona before back-heeling to Hemp, but she can't pick out the right pass in a crowded box and Stanway has to track back with the ball.
39' That was England's first real attacking chance, and despite the flag going up, it's really fired up this Brighton crowd!
37' BALL IN THE NET!!! There's a scramble in the box as Hemp swings in the free-kick, and the loose ball bounces up to White, who prods it home!! The flag's up though, and White appears to know she was offside, so the goal will not count!
36' Batlle drags down Mead on the touchline as the England winger attempts to escape her, and England have a chance to really test Spain here.
34' White flicks an aerial ball on and Hemp races onto it. She's crowded out though, and Spain easily recover possession.
32' Spain win their fourth corner of the match after Carmona's cross is put behind by Bronze. England are yet to win one, in what's been a rather disjointed performance from the hosts so far.
31' Carmona picks the ball up on the byline and drives a low effort at goal, but it's never troubling Earps and drifts wide of her left post.
29' Caldentey and Gonzalez play a quick one-two in the box, but Bright blocks Caldentey from getting the ball as she shepherds it behind for a goal kick.
29' Panos comes miles out of her goal to get to a Bronze header first, and she's lucky her headed clearance finds a red shirt!
27' A long ball from Spain looks for Gonzalez on the run, but Bright gets to the ball first and clears it over the touchline.
25' Stanway recovers possession for England, but she's followed all the way and clipped by Caldentey, winning a free-kick for England in her own half.
23' BLOCKED!!! Spain open England up again as Gonzalez cuts it back to Cardona. She gets a shot away first-time, but it deflects behind for a corner off the back of Bright!
22' Bright looks to play in Mead with a fantastic throughball, but Carmona does well to get goal-side of the England winger and come away with the ball.
21' Williamson surges forward into space from the defensive area, before being dragged down on halfway to earn England a free-kick.
19' Caldentey's causing England some real problems, as she draws a foul from a frustrated Mead to gain Spain another set-piece chance.
18' Caldentey collects another wide ball and takes on Bronze. She almost gets around the outside of her, and her resultant cross is put behind by Bright for another corner!
16' SAVED!! Caldentey comes inside to collect a cross-field pass, and creates shooting space. She tries her luck from 20 yards, firing a curling effort that lands in the arms of Earps!
14' Carmona is caught late by a flying Stanway as she releases the ball, and the England midfielder appears lucky to avoid a card there.
12' England have scored 98 goals in their 17 games under Sarina Wiegman, netting at an average of 5.8 goals per game. Indeed, the Lionesses have conceded just three goals under Wiegman and never more than once in a game, earning 14 clean sheets.
10' WIDE!!! Mead fires a beauty of a cross into the box from a deep free-kick, which White meets at the front post, but she glances her header wide of Panos' goal!
9' England have never lost against Spain when facing them in their home country in seven games, while they have won four of the five such meetings that have taken place this century.
8' CHANCE!!! The corner causes chaos in the England box as Guijarro heads it back towards goal. Cardona is unmarked at the back post, but can't direct the volley on target!
7' Daly is trapped under pressure from Cardona, and is forced into conceding a corner, Spain's first of the match.
5' Bronze picks up a loose ball and sets off down the right-hand touchline. She's got Mead in support, but Spain get back in cover well and Carmona comes up with the ball.
3' Carmona floats a good cross into the area and England are scrambling. Earps rises for it and claims the ball, but clatters into Cardona as she lands!
2' England and Spain have faced each other on 15 previous occasions, with the Lionesses winning twice as many games as La Roja's three across all their meetings (six draws).
1' Gonzalez kicks off for Spain, and this quarter-final is off and running in Brighton!
The two sides head out onto the pitch at the Amex Stadium, and we'll be underway straight after the national anthems!
Spain, meanwhile, have made three changes, the most notable of which comes in attack, with Esther Gonzalez taking the place of Athenea del Castillo up front.
England remain unchanged for the fourth successive game at this tournament, as returning manager Sarina Wiegman keeps Alessia Russo, who scored twice off the bench against Northern Ireland, amongst the substitutes in the hope of her making a similar impact.
