Commentary

Next time out, it's a trip to Eintracht Frankfurt for Bayern, while Furth battle it out with Koln. Until then, thank you for joining us - and have a great week.
Julian Nagelsmann will be very pleased with the response shown by his side however. After two underwhelming results, Bayern needed something to fire their engines once more, and that second half very much ticked the box.
Spare a thought for Stefan Leitl and company - Furth did nothing to disgrace themselves, particularly across a surprisingly sedate first half. But the sheer brute force power of their hosts have overwhelmed them in the end and they remain rooted to the foot of the table.
A Robert Lewandowski double helps do the business once more, as Bayern Munich fight back from a half-time deficit to avoid a Bundesliga upset against Greuther Furth. The champions strengthen their hand at the summit once more - at full-time at Allianz Arena, it finishes Bayern Munich 4-1 Greuther Furth.
90' + 3' FULL-TIME: BAYERN MUNICH 4-1 GREUTHER FURTH
S. Gnabry
Assist
90' + 1' There is some fine work from Gnabry to bring down the long ball, but it is all too easy to get in behind the defence for his assist. Bayern are running rampant at the end here.
E. Choupo-Moting
Goal
90' + 1' GOAL! BAYERN MUNICH FINISH WITH A FLOURISH! 4-1! Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting gets himself on the scoreboard to finish this one off, firing Gnabry's square ball home at close-range.
90' There will be three added minutes to see out at Allianz Arena.
J. Kimmich
Yellow Card
88' Kimmich now becomes the latest man to be booked for his role in a game that has not lost its testy edge.
Marc Roca
M. Sabitzer
87' Marc Roca replaces Marcel Sabitzer in Bayern's fourth change of the game.
P. Wanner
L. Sané
87' Paul Wanner replaces Leroy Sane in Bayern's fifth change of the game.
84' A crisis surely averted in the end for Bayern, who should be home and dry from this point onwards. They'll be happy with the result, if not with that first half.
N. Süle
Assist
82' Sule is the man to get the assist, meeting the corner at the far post and heading it back over to the left with a looping touch - but Lewandowski makes sure that it is buried.
R. Lewandowski
Goal
82' GOAL! ROBERT LEWANDOWSKI BAGS ANOTHER FOR BAYERN MUNICH! 3-1! Surely, that is game, set and match to the hosts now, as their star man heads home from a reverse nudge back across the box on the heels of a corner.
M. Bauer
Yellow Card
80' Bauer picks up a booking for a hefty challenge now, bringing down Lewandowski.
78' Lewandowski! The Poland superstar forces a save as he goes looking for another finish.
75' Before today, Lewandowski has scored 26 goals after 22 matches in this Bundesliga season, equalling the BL record at this stage that he had set himself in 2020-21. Since his move to Bayern in 2014-15, Lewandowski has faced 26 different teams in the Bundesliga - and Furth were the only one he had not scored against.
73' Bayern break with brisk intent, looking to seize another opportunity, but the Furth defence scrambles to halt their prospects. A back-and-forth final quarter in store? Don't bet against it.
71' Meyerhofer hits the woodwork too! Furth have been denied twice in five minutes by the posts. What a burst from them on the move.
J. Green
P. Seguin
69' Julian Green replaces Paul Seguin in Furth's fourth change of the game.
Afimico Pululu
B. Hrgota
69' Afimico Pululu replaces Branimir Hrgota in Furth's third change of the game.
68' Whoa, where did that come from?! Furth almost square things up as Christiansen hits the post! The visitors are not done just yet!
66' Now Lewandowski is blocked! Bayern are throwing the kitchen sink at this one.
64' Back-to-back blocks! Sane and Pavard both go on the hunt for a third to put this game beyond Furth's reach, but the defence denies their efforts.
M. Bauer
J. Leweling
62' Maximilian Bauer replaces Jamie Leweling in Furth's second change of the match.
S. Griesbeck
Own Goal
61' GOAL! BAYERN MUNICH GO AHEAD FOR THE FIRST TIME IN THIS GAME! 2-1! It's a disaster for Sebastian Griesbeck, as the Furth man turns a square cross past his own goalkeeper - an absolute heartbreaker!
60' Sabitzer pulls another effort wide of the mark, shuttling his finish to the left of the goal. Bayern are pressing hard for that second goal.
58' Lewandowski slips into the offside trap as Pavard feeds him and the flag denies his run.
56' There's the sense that Furth might not have enough to see this one out. Bayern look like they'll find a goal. Their visitors? Not so much.
N. Süle
L. Hernández
53' Niklas Sule replaces Lucas Hernandez in Bayern's third change of the game.
52' Furth hold back Bayern's latest foray. This could be very much a case of weathering a Bavarian storm.
50' Gnabry snaps up a free-kick for the hosts now and they attempt to turn the screw. They can sniff a second, their noses in the air.
48' Now that's just what Julian Nagelsmann ordered, surely. Bayern have shot out of the stocks and really taken this one against their visitors. We could be in for a vintage half if they play their moves right.
E. Choupo-Moting
Assist
46' There is a question to be had whether Choupo-Moting was out of play - just - before pulling that ball back. VAR deems not and the goal will stand - a major boon for Bayern.
R. Lewandowski
Goal
46' GOAL! ROBERT LEWANDOWSKI LEVELS FOR BAYERN MUNICH! 1-1! Talk about out of the gates! A minute has not passed and the Poland star puts the hosts back on equal footing. Choupo-Moting cuts back at the right post and the forward wrestles home on the other side.
46' We are back underway at Allianz Arena. Do Bayern have an immediate response up their sleeves?
E. Choupo-Moting
O. Richards
46' Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting replaces Omar Richards in Bayern's second change of the game.
Stefan Leitl will have plenty to be pleased about. Julian Nagelsmann? Not so much. There will be an almighty team-talk going on right now.
Do not adjust your sets - Bayern Munich trail once more in the Bundesliga, this time against bottom-place Greuther Furth, thanks to Branimir Hrgota's free-kick. Are the wheels coming off for the hosts? We'll find out soon enough - at half-time, it is Bayern Munich 0-1 Greuther Furth.
45' + 4' HALF-TIME: BAYERN MUNICH 0-1 GREUTHER FURTH
45' + 2' We're into the second of four added minutes in this first half.
R. Lewandowski
Yellow Card
45' Lewandowski comes clattering in and does get a booking this time, perhaps more for his angry reaction than anything.
44' Well, that has put the cat among the pigeons. What have Bayern got here?
B. Hrgota
Goal
42' GOAL! GREUTHER FURTH SEIZE THE LEAD AGAINST BAYERN MUNICH! 1-0! The bottom of the table trumps the top with the help of a wicked deflection! Hrgota steers the free-kick in, sees it take a huge hit off the wall, and it loops into the far-top corner!
41' Hrgota now draws a free-kick off Richards. Promising steps for Furth.
39' Lewandowski commits the foul and gets a stern word from the referee. No card though.
37' Double-chance for Bayern! At last, they put together something concrete. Richards' effort is blocked and Sane follows up with a wide finish, but it is still building blocks after a limp first half.
35' Back-to-back corners for Furth come to nothing and the hosts spirit the ball away.
33' Bayern conceded four goals in the first half of a Bundesliga match for the first time since November 1975 (0-5 in Frankfurt, final score 0-6) in their 2-4 loss at VfL Bochum. They have lost for the fourth time this season, as often as in the entire previous season, last losing more often in 2014-15 (5).
31' Sabitzer shuffles an effort hide, and then gets hooked for offside seconds later. This might need a stroke of genius to open it up.
29' Hernandez now trims down Leweling and concedes the free-kick. This has been a bit of a slog, it must be said.
27' Leweling looks to inject some action beyond injuries into this clash and forces a save now with a powerful shot from outside the box.
S. Gnabry
C. Tolisso
25' Serge Gnabry replaces Corentin Tolisso in Bayern's first change of the game.
24' Tolisso is going to go off too. We're going to have had more changes than goals before the half-hour mark.
H. Nielsen
J. Dudziak
22' Havard Nielsen replaces Jeremy Dudziak in Furth's first change of the game.
21' Is everybody in the wars today? Now Tolisso is pounding the turf after going down in a challenge, absolutely howling around;
19' Sadly, that looks like it may well be Dudziak's day. He's helped to limp off the field by medics and Furth have players warming up in a hurry.
17' Dudziak is the next man to take a clatter. This feels like a foul-heavy match so far.
15' No goals to report inside the opening quarter-hour - and perhaps less opportunities cooked up than anticipated for the hosts too.
13' There's plenty of niggle in this one. Sabitzer becomes the latest player to be felled in a challenge, though he appears to go down softer than most.
11' Both teams are giving each other the run-over early doors. It could explode very easily for Bayern, but right now, this is simmering along nicely.
9' Richards feeds Lewandowski and the latter swings an effort wide to the left. He's on the prowl to add to his ever-growing tally this term.
7' The conditions that have battered much of Europe this week look to have left Munich bare for the moment. That cool February weather is making itself felt though - there's plenty of long sleeves out there.
5' Tillman takes a knock in the tackle and rolls around on the turf. It pauses the game for his issue to be addressed, before everybody kicks on.
3' There is one favourite today, despite recent form, and they are overwhelming favourites at that. Surely it is simply a matter of when, rather than if, Bayern Munich open the scoring.
1' We are underway in this Bundesliga clash between Bayern Munich and Greuther Furth!
The teams are out and we are moments away from kick-off at Allianz Arena.
Bayern's loss at Bochum meant they broke their unbeaten 16 game against promoted teams. The last time they lost two consecutive Bundesliga games against promoted teams was in 1997 under Giovanni Trapattoni (0-2 at Bielefeld, 0-1 at home against Kaiserslautern).
Subs: Malik Tillman, Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting, Marc Roca, Christian Fruchtl, Serge Gnabry, Paul Wanner, Jamal Musiala, Tanguy Kouassi, Niklas Sule.
GREUTHER FURTH (4-1-2-1-2): Andreas Linde; Marco Meyerhofer, Sebastian Griesbeck, Nick Viergever, Gian-Luca Itter; Max Christiansen; Paul Seguin, Timothy Tillman; Jeremy Dudziak; Jamie Leweling, Branimir Hrgota.
Subs: Malik Tillman, Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting, Marc Roca, Christian Fruchtl, Serge Gnabry, Paul Wanner, Jamal Musiala, Tanguy Kouassi, Niklas Sule.
BAYERN MUNICH (4-1-4-1): Sven Ulreich; Benjamin Pavard, Dayot Upamecano, Lucas Hernandez, Omar Richards; Joshua Kimmich; Marcel Sabitzer, Thomas Muller, Corentin Tolisso, Leroy Sane; Robert Lewandowski.
The glut of superstar talent has not helped them get over the line in their last two games - but with Robert Lewandowski leading the line, Bayern look a frightful proposition. He starts opposite Jamie Leweling - the Ghana-eligible forward fronts up the visitors.
Between them and victory sits rock-bottom Furth - but two wins in their last three games has at the very least stopped the rot for the relegation battlers. They still have a huge task at hand though - and Stefan Leitl will know it.
Julian Nagelsmann's side suffered one of the shocks of the season last time out when they were stunned 4-2 by VfL Bochum, while a midweek Champions League draw against Red Bull Salzburg saw them perform under-par. They'll want a response today - and they might just get one.
Hello and welcome to live coverage of the 2021-22 Bundesliga season, as champions Bayern Munich look to bounce back to winning ways against Greuther Furth at Allianz Arena.
