Barcelona have been held to a goalless draw by Galatasaray in the first leg of their Europa League round-of-16 clash at Camp Nou. Frenkie de Jong came the closest for the home side when he struck the post from close range, while Memphis Depay was twice denied by Inaki Pena, on loan at Galatasaray from Barca. The Turkish outfit were resilient at the back to claim a clean sheet to leave the match at level pegging heading into the second leg.
90' + 4' Dembele fires a dangerous low cross into the box that Pena has to tip wide of the right post. The keeper didn't know who was following in at the back post there.

T. Antalyalı
Yellow Card
77' Antalyali pulls back Dembele on the charge and goes into the book.
75' OFF THE POST! De Jong latches on to a scuffed overhead kick from Aubameyang in the six-yard box and throws an instinctive left boot at the ball. However, his effort clatters off the left post and bounces back safely into the grasp of Pena. It is not Barca's night so far.

Sergio Busquets
Nico González
46' Busquets replaces Nico in the Barcelona midfield at the break.
Xavi will be a tad disappointed with his side's performance in the first half as they failed to get out of first gear. Depay showed glimpses in the final third, but Barca will have to improve to attempt to take a lead into the second leg of the contest.
It's goalless at the break between Barcelona and Galatasaray in their Europa League round-of-16 first leg clash. Memphis Depay came close on two occasions for the home side, but saw his efforts saved by Inaki Pena, on loan at Galatasaray from Barca. Galatasaray return to Europa League action after a three-month break due to finishing top of Group E. The Turkish outfit outperformed Lazio and Marseille during the group stage to accumulate 12 points from their six matches and will not be deterred by facing Barca this evening. Galatasaray have not been in great form in the Super Lig, currently residing in 12th place in the table, while they suffered a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Konyaspor last time out. Domenec Torrent needs a resilient performance from his team at Camp Nou.
Barcelona overcame Napoli in the last round of the competition by producing a brilliant performance on the road to dispatch the Italian outfit. Xavi has got the Catalan club firing on all cylinders once more, reeling off four straight wins in all competitions. Barca have improved their fortunes in LaLiga with three of those victories, including a 2-1 comeback triumph over Elche last time out. Xavi will want to set the tone from the off with a strong display tonight.
