Thanks for joining our commentary this evening. Until next time, goodbye.
Austria will face off against Germany at Brentford Community Stadium on July 21 in their last-eight match. Norway's campaign comes to a premature end, raising questions regarding the future of manager Martin Sjogren.
Austria advance to the quarter-finals of the Women's European Championship after defeating Norway 1-0 in Brighton this evening. Irene Fuhrmann's side only needed a point to secure their place in the last eight as runners-up in Group A, but Nicole Billa's first-half header delivered all three to send them into the last eight in style. Norway were underwhelming for the majority of the game, and although they forced Manuela Zinsberger into late stops, it was too little too late.
90' + 2' ZINSBERGER TO THE RESCUE! Hegerberg latches on to a knockdown in the Austria box from Haug and swivels to fire at goal on her left foot. Zinsberger reacts to the strike and makes a fine stop before Wienroither clears behind.
90' There will be four minutes of added time.
89' SAVE! Bizet latches on to a cutback from Hegerberg in the inside-right channel and powers a strike towards the top-left corner. However, Zinsberger reads the effort and turns it onto the bar and behind for a corner. A vital stop from the Austria keeper.
M. Georgieva
N. Billa
88' Georgieva enters the action to replace the goalscorer Billa and shore up the Austria defence for the closing minutes.
V. Bøe Risa
F. Maanum
86' Maanum leaves the field for Norway and is replaced by Risa.
85' Graham Hansen turns on the right flank and angles a cross into the box, but Schnaderbeck reads it comfortably and clears the danger.
83' OVER! Makas collect a cross-field pass from Dunst on the left flank, but she fires her effort on the half-volley over the bar.
S. Haug
J. Blakstad
82' Blakstad is withdrawn for Norway and is replaced by Haug, who will push up front.
82' OVER! Graham Hansen lifts a cross into the Austria box from the left flank, but Bizet can only steer her effort over the bar. It has not been Norway's night in front of goal.
80' A loose ball from a Reiten corner almost falls for Hegerberg, but Zinsberger is alert and gathers ahead of the forward.
79' Hanshaw continues to excel tonight as she slides in to divert a throughball from Graham Hansen away from Hansen on the right flank.
77' Zinsberger sends a loose clearance out from the back which is helped back towards the Austria goal by Graham Hansen. However, Zinsberger is alert to gather the ball ahead of Hegerberg.
76' Zadrazil and Billa both try to force strikes through a crowded Norway penalty, but Engen puts her body on the line to deny the latter.
75' Austria are finding space with ease on the counter now. Norway have to send players forward in the final 15 minutes to keep their slim hopes alive.
73' CHANCE! Makas has to score. The substitute should put Austria in the last eight as she latches on to a Billas' header at the back post. She only has Pettersen to beat, but the keeper gets enough on her strike at goal to turn it past the post. It was close, but not enough to put the game beyond doubt.
L. Makas
J. Hickelsberger
72' Hickelsberger-Füller is withdrawn for Makas in the Austria midfield.
69' SAVE! Hickelsberger-Fuller finds space down the right flank and she cuts inside to shoot on her left foot. If she can place her effort either side of Pettersen it's a goal, but the winger can only send her drive straight at the Norway keeper.
68' Hansen plays a one-two with Maanum to find space down the right flank. She reaches the byline and crosses into the box, but Wenninger is on hand to clear the danger.
66' There's no way through for Norway at the moment. Austria have prided themselves on their defensive resilience and are proving a tough nut to crack again.
C. Bizet
A. Eikeland
64' Eikeland makes way for Norway and is replaced by Bizet in the final third.
63' CHANCE! Feiersinger tries to burst through the middle of the Norway defence, but loses out before she can shoot. Billa pounces on the loose ball, only to scoop her strike straight at Pettersen.
62' SAVE! Dunst capitalises on a mistake in the Norway backline and fires at goal from just inside the box. She connects with power, but sees her effort saved by Pettersen.
61' Hanshaw's deliveries have been outstanding today and she arcs another dangerous cross into the middle, but Billa cannot direct her effort at goal.
58' Norway have been slightly better in the second half, but have not forced Zinsberger into action yet. Time is running out for Sjogren's team here.
56' WIDE! Graham Hansen and Reiten probe on the edge of the Austria box. Hanshaw gets it away from the latter, but only as far as Hegerberg. The forward shoots first-time on her left foot, but drags her effort wide of the target.
53' Graham Hansen works the ball into the box from the right flank for Norway, but Wenninger is alert to hook it clear from danger in the Austria backline.
52' Wienroither goes down in need of treatment, but the Austria full-back is back to her feet after a quick assessment from the medical staff.
50' SAVE! Hickelsberger-Fuller races down the right flank and finds space to fire a strike at goal, but Pettersen gets down to make the save and holds the ball amid the lurking presence of Billa.
48' Austria have started the second half in control of possession. It's all about game management from their perspective now.
46' We're back under way in this Group A clash.
Norway were completely below par in the first half, failing to make any impression in the final third and looking suspect at the back. The only positive for Martin Sjogren's team is that they are only one goal down. Norway need to produce something special to score two goals in the second half to keep their tournament alive.
Austria are 45 minutes away from the Women's Euros quarter-finals as they hold a 1-0 lead over Norway at the break at Falmer Stadium. Nicole Billa put Irene Fuhrmann's team ahead eight minutes before the break with a glancing header, which is no more than they deserved for their first-half perfomance. A similar effort in the second half will see Austria through to the last eight of the competition.
45' + 2' Wienroither delivers a cross into the box from the right flank that Billa tries to flick-on, but she nods the ball out for a goal-kick.
45' There will be three minutes of added time.
C. Wenninger
Yellow Card
45' Wenninger catches Hegerberg with a late boot and goes into the book.
44' A loose ball almost falls for Billa in the six-yard box following a cross into the box from Hanshaw. Mjelde just manages to scramble it away from the forward before she can pounce.
43' Norway are hanging on at the moment amid pressure from Austria. Sjorgen needs half-time to come quickly.
41' SAVE! Hickelsberger-Fuller twists and turns on the edge of the Norway box to open up space for a strike. She connects low and hard with her right-footed effort, but Pettersen makes a solid stop at her near post.
40' Reiten runs down the left flank and supplies a dangerous cross into the box, but Schnaderbeck reads the danger and clears with a powerful header.
39' The task for Norway just became tougher. They now need two goals to avoid going out of the competition. Austria are in complete command here.
V. Hanshaw
37' Hanshaw runs forward from the back before delivering a precise cross into the box for Billa to head home.
N. Billa
37' GOALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!! BILLA SCORES A SUBLIME HEADER !!!! 1-0 AUSTRIA!!!! Austria take a deserved lead through Billa with a precise effort. Hanshaw probes forward into the Norway half and then floats a dangerous cross into the box. Billa is left unmarked and meets the delivery with a glancing header that travels away from Pettersen into the bottom-right corner.
34' SAVE! Pettersen denies Billa with a sharp stop. Hickelsberger-Fuller sends a precise throughball behind the Norway defence for the run of Billa down the right flank. The forward shoots from a tight angle from the inside-right channel, but Pettersen gets down to make the save before the Norway defence scrambles the rebound away.
33' Pettersen appears to be okay to continue for now, which will be a relief for Sjorgen on the touchline.
31' Pettersen is down for Norway and requires treatment on the pitch.
29' OVER! Norway fail to clear their lines from the resulting corner from Hanshaw. Dunst works the ball back to Hanshaw to strike at goal, but she sends her left-footed drive over bar on the half-volley.
28' Zadrazil takes a neat touch on the edge of the box and runs into the box, but Bergsvand sticks out a leg and nudges the ball away from the forward at the vital moment.
26' Austria have kept five clean sheets in their previous seven Women’s Euros matches.
24' Hickelsberger-Fuller tries to release Dunst down the left flank with a cross-field pass. Hansen has to get back to prevent the winger advancing, conceding a corner in the process.
22' Billa makes a break forward into the final third and offloads to her left for Hanshaw. She angles a cross into the box, but Mjelde rises highest to clear the danger away from Zadrazil.
J. Hickelsberger
Yellow Card
20' Hickelsberger-Fuller goes into the book for pulling back Blakstad on the charge.
18' Austria have looked the brighter of the teams in the early stages of the game, but have not been able to make their territory and possession count on the scoreboard.
16' CHANCE! Reiten has a chance to run at the Austria defence and she slips Graham Hansen into the inside-left channel. The forward twists and turns to look for space for a strike, but she sends a tame effort wide of the left post.
15' Norway look nervy at the back. Again a delivery from Hanshaw causes issues as it travels through the penalty area, but no one in a red shirt can capitalise on the indecision in the Norway ranks.
14' WIDE! Dunst runs at the Norway defence and cuts inside from the left flank to shoot on her right foot, but she drags her effort harmlessly wide of the target.
12' OFF THE BAR! Feiersinger latches on to a loose ball on the edge of the Norway box and hammers a strike at goal on her left foot on the half-volley. It should be an easy save for Pettersen, but she fumbles the ball on to her crossbar, and it bounces out to safety. A let-off for the Norway keeper.
9' The challenge by Bergsvand and a handball in the Norway box were checked by VAR for potential penalties. However, VAR saw nothing untoward to change the view of the official on the field, which will be a massive relief to Norway after being on the end of a harsh call against England.
7' Wienroither raids down the right flank and angles a cross towards Billa. Bergsvand reads the danger and takes a hack at the ball before clearing at the second attempt.
5' Reiten finds space down the left flank and she digs out a cross into the middle, only for Zinsberger to come off her line to make a comfortable claim.
4' Billa scoops the ball past Bergsvand in the inside-right channel and goes down under pressure from the defender, but the referee is unmoved before the ball heads behind for a corner.
3' Wienroither pushes towards the end of the box down the right flank, but Norway manage to get players back behind the ball to quell the Austria threat.
1' We're under way in this Group A clash.
Norway are unbeaten in their last five matches against Austria.
Sjogren has not made wholesale changes to his side despite their 8-0 hammering at the hands of England last time out. Norway make only two changes as Maanum comes into the middle of the park for Risa and Eikeland starts in the final third ahead of Savik.
Austria have made one change to their side from their win over Northern Ireland last time out. Schiechtl drops to the bench despite scoring in the victory and is replaced at full-back by Wienroither. Billa continues to spearhead the attack, with Dunst, Feiersinger and Hickelsberger in support.

Norway endured a performance to forget against England in their last outing, suffering an 8-0 hammering at the hands of the Lionesses. They had produced a fine performance in their opener to beat Northern Ireland 4-1, but the scale of their defeat to England has put them behind the eight ball in the race for second place due to their inferior goal difference. Martin Sjogren have to take the game to Austria tonight to force a victory to take them into the last eight.
Austria know that a point will be good enough to book their place in the quarter-finals of the Women's Euros after beating Northern Ireland 2-0 last time out. Goals from Katharina Schiechtl and Katharinia Naschenweng secured the result for Irene Fuhrmann's team to put them ahead of Norway in the race for second place. They now need to close out their spot in the knockout round by earning at least a draw tonight.
Good afternoon and welcome to the live commentary of the Women's European Championship Group A clash between Austria and Norway.
