A win for Los Blancos saw them extend their lead at the top of the table by four points with a game in hand

Real Madrid hosted Sevilla at the Santiago Bernabeu to wrap this past weekend’s action in La Liga.

Sevilla were the first to score through a corner as Real Madrid failed to pick up Rafa Mir in the box. The lead only lasted 20 minutes as Karim Benzema latched on to a goalkeeping error and fired into the back on the net.

In the second half, Real Madrid applied more pressure and started creating more opportunities.

Vinicius Jr scored the decider with a wonderful shot outside the box that went straight to the top right corner to secure all three points for Los Blancos.

  • David Alaba of Real Madrid.

    David Alaba - 7.14

Alaba had a solid defensive display, he brought a sense of calm to the Real Madrid back four.

The Austrian showned his experience in this fierce game and had led from the back by making goal-line clearances and racking up the second-most tackles in the game.

  • Ferland Mendy of Real Madrid.

    Ferland Mendy - 7.25

Mendy was one of the outstanding defenders in the game, nothing seemed to get past him.

In the attack, his link-up play with Vincius Jr caused lots of problems and his runs in behind the defence helped Real Madrid to create problems for the Sevilla rear-guard.

  • Karim Benzema of Real Madrid.

    Karim Benzema - 7.48

Benzema was energized from kick-off pressing the Sevilla defenders, dropping back to receive the ball and being involved in every attack.

The Frenchman kept the centre-backs occupied the entire game and made it difficult for them to hold their line. He scored his 11th goal of the season 32 minutes into the contest to tie things up for Los Blancos.

  • Vinicius Jr of Real Madrid.

    Vinicius Jr - 7.76

Vinicius Jr was very direct down the left for Real Madrid and he caused the Sevilla defence lots of problems. His pace and creativity were on show as he used that to pull defenders away from their defensive positions.

He was able to secure all 3 points for Los Blancos with a great goal from outside the box. He now moves up to second in the top goal scorer standings in La Liga (9) behind his teammate Benzema.

  • Eder Militao of Real Madrid.

    Eder Militao - 7.80

It was an eventful game for the Brazilian as Sevilla waves of the attack came down his side. Militao was solid at the back putting in seven clearances and also cutting passing lines with three interceptions.

He played some great passes, setting up Vinicius Jr with an incredible cross-field pass to find him for the eventual game-winner and also taking a shot outside the box that led to the goalkeeping error in which Benzema followed up and scored.
