David Alaba, Toni Kroos and Karim Benzema scored the goals that handed Los Blancos a comfortable win away from home.

Real Madrid travelled to Moldova to take on Champions League newcomers FC Sheriff on Wednesday evening and they emerged 3-0 winners.

The win for the Spanish club helps cement their spot at the top of Group D ahead of Inter Milan and Shakhtar Donetsk. This result see Los Blancos avenge their only loss in this year's Champions League after Sheriff beat them 2-1 at the Santiago Bernabeu in September.

  • Luka Modric of Real Madrid.

    Luka Modric - 7.75

Modric played well through the FC Sheriff high press and started numerous Real Madrid attacks from deep. The 36-year-old showed that age is just a number with how he carried the ball forward with energy and created opportunities for Real Madrid to score.

His off the ball runs to pulled defenders out of position, creating more space for Madird's attacking players.

  • Casemiro Alaves Real Madrid LaLiga

    Carlos Casemiro - 8.00

It was business as usual for the Brazilian midfielder who showed the importance of his defensive capabilities. Casemiro put in challenges that won the ball and stopped Sheriff's counter-attacks.

Real Madrid had the majority of the possession (70%) which did limit the amount of attacking opportunities the opposition got but the breakdown in play from Casemiro helped Real Madrid recover defensively.

  • Toni Kroos of Real Madrid.

    Toni Kroos - 8.08

Kroos was at the heart of every Real Madrid attack, he controlled the pace of the game and made key passes in the final third.

It was an incredible display from the German as he recorded the most touches (128) and also scored a goal from an amazing link-up play between Vinicius Jr and Rodrygo.

After the match, Los Blancos coach Carlos Ancelotti told the media: "If Toni's on form his coach can breath easier."

  • Karim Benzema of Real Madrid.

    Karim Benzema - 8.23

Things started off slowly for Benzema as he struggled to settle into the game and was dropping deeper to receive the ball. Things did change after the first goal, there were more opportunities created and the opposition’s defence looked disjointed, therefore, creating more space to attack.

The French striker got onto the scoresheet after Ferland Mendy sent a cross to the edge of the box where he was waiting and found the bottom left corner to make it 3-0.

  • Rodrygo of Real Madrid.

    Rodrygo - 8.46

Rodrygo was dominant down the right side of the field and often cut in to put more pressure on defenders and get Dani Carvajal into some good attacking areas.

He used some of his skills to get out of tight situations and his pace to get around defenders.

He managed to register an assist from Toni Kroos’ goal after finishing off a move in which he started with Vinicius Jr. At a young age, he has shown that he can compete against Europe’s elite.
