Commentary

That's all from Anfield today, on a memorable day for the hosts, so thank you for joining us and goodbye!
Liverpool cannot afford to bask for too long in their incredible feats today, as they are set to host Newcastle next, before tackling the Merseyside derby and kicking off their Champions League campaign in Naples. Meanwhile, Bournemouth aim to bounce back from this humbling at home to Wolves on Wednesday.
Equalling the Premier League records for goals scored and margin of victory, Liverpool strode to a totally one-sided victory at Anfield, as they shook off the slumbers of a sluggish start to the season in some style. Firmino had a hand in five goals, while Alexander-Arnold was back to his best and scored a beauty during a dominant first half. Bournemouth could barely lay a finger on the Reds' shadows even after the interval, and they may take some time to recover from such a thrashing.
90' + 5' FULL-TIME: LIVERPOOL 9-0 BOURNEMOUTH
90' + 4' Klopp strolls along the touchline to offer his opposite number Parker a consolatory hug, which the beaten manager receives with good grace. He will just be relieved when this game finally ends.
90' + 2' Chasing onto a ball into the six-yard box, Carvalho is flattened in a challenge with Lerma. After being helped to his feet by Travers, he can then continue his protests for a foul, which are ignored by the referee.
90' Milner attempts to find Liverpool's 10th goal, but his shot from a tight angle on the right is comfortably saved in the top-right corner by Travers.
87' Having equalled the Premier League record of nine goals, Liverpool are flying forward in search of more: the crowd roars them on! Ruthless stuff from the Reds here!

Liverpool
85' 9-0! Liverpool are going for double figures! Diaz gets his name on the scoresheet again, and Tsimikas makes a second assist shortly after coming on. The former guides a header from the right side of the six-yard box into the centre of the goal, following a cross from the latter.

80' Tsimikas meets a long, raking ball from Alexander-Arnold with a smart pass for Carvalho to score.
Fábio Carvalho
Goal
Liverpool
80' CARVALHO MAKES IT EIGHT! The scoring continues in front of the Kop, as Alexander-Arnold pings a crossfield ball to Tsimikas, who then feeds Carvalho in the box. Unerringly, the young forward fires the ball into the bottom-right corner to make it 8-0!
79' Only just onto the pitch, Pearson lies prone with an apparent knee injury after clashing boots with Bajcetic. The game is brought to a temporary halt.
B. Pearson
L. Cook
AFC Bournemouth
77' Cook's game is over, as he departs for the touchline; Pearson comes on.
76' Salah is denied space in the box following a high ball in from Alexander-Arnold, and as he attempts to break free from his marker, he gives away a free-kick for a foul.
74' MISS! Another wayward finish from Salah stops Liverpool making it 8-0, after the winger dashes inside to reach Fabinho's lofted pass but then misses from close range. He clipped a rising ball over the bar and it stays at seven for now.
72' Despite a raft of changes to personnel, the game continues to be played exclusively inside the Bournemouth half. They are simply not laying a glove on their hosts here and will be glad when the final whistle comes.
Stefan Bajčetić
J. Henderson
Liverpool
70' Henderson hands the captaincy to Milner, as he comes off with 20 minutes to go: young Bajcetic comes on for his debut.

69' Tsimikas replaces Robertson at left-back.
J. Milner
Roberto Firmino
Liverpool
69' After a memorable day's work, Firmino takes the crowd's applause and makes way for Milner.
68' A triple change is afoot for the hosts, who will surely wind down their efforts for the remainder of the match.
66' Tavernier does well to deny Van Dijk a clean header at goal, as the centre-back gets to a cross into the box from Alexander-Arnold, and the ball goes behind for another corner.
64' Klopp is preparing some more substitutions, with the three points well in hand. A hectic schedule awaits, so it seems like a sound policy from the Liverpool boss.
Roberto Firmino
Goal
Liverpool
62' SEVEN UP! Liverpool strike again! Firmino has his second goal, after bundling the ball home from close range, despite Travers making a couple of attempts to deny him. A delicious cross from Robertson had caused havoc in the Bournemouth box, and the Liverpool number nine has been involved in five goals so far!
59' Substitute Solanke gets away from Gomez and then cuts inside from the left side of the box, before forcing a corner for Bournemouth. However, he comes away limping - last season's top scorer has only just recovered from injury.
57' If anything, Liverpool's dominance has grown since the interval, as Bournemouth sit back in numbers and aim to keep the score down. The hosts have had 78 per cent of the ball so far in the second half.
55' Tavernier curls in a cross from a free-kick on the left side, around 30 yards from goal, but Lerma heads tamely over the target despite being only loosely marked.
53' Inside the box, Robertson narrowly misses out on making contact with an angled throughball from Gomez, who drifts forward from the back. A nice idea, but not quite the right weight of pass.
51' CLOSE! Still not done with his work in the opposition area, Firmino fires just past the right-hand post from the left side of the box, following superb wing play from Diaz: the Colombian had to haul himself off the floor before beating two men to deliver the pass.
48' THE GOAL STANDS! After extensive analysis, the VAR gives the thumbs-up to Liverpool's goal and it remains 6-0 to the Reds!
47' The VAR has intervened, and the action is at a standstill while the video officials weigh up whether an offside in the build-up rules out Liverpool's sixth goal.
C. Mepham

AFC Bournemouth
46' LIVERPOOL HAVE SIX! Barely missing a beat since the break, the hosts have another goal, as Mepham turns the ball into his own net from close range, following an excellent cross from the right by Alexander-Arnold. Under pressure from Diaz, the centre-back could only divert the ball past Travers.
D. Solanke
A. Smith
AFC Bournemouth
46' Bournemouth's booked skipper Smith is withdrawn too, as Solanke makes his return to the Anfield pitch.

A shocking Salah miss aside, Liverpool's finishing has been clinical so far; scoring five times from seven shots on target, and 10 all told. With 70 per cent of possession too, their dominance has been total - but will they continue to attack so intently with the points already won?
Rarely can there have been a more one-sided half of Premier League football, as irrepressible Liverpool have sliced through a meek Bournemouth side at will and could perhaps have scored seven. Firmino followed a hat-trick of assists with a goal of his own, while Elliott and Alexander-Arnold also shone - the latter firing home a sensational strike for the fourth. With no way back into the game, the visitors' aim will surely be to keep the scoreline down after the interval and keep humiliation at bay.
45' + 3' HALF-TIME: LIVERPOOL 5-0 BOURNEMOUTH
A. Robertson
Assist
Liverpool
45' A corner from the right by Robertson is swung into the box, towards the head of Van Dijk, who then heads home Liverpool's fifth goal.
V. van Dijk
Goal
Liverpool
45' FIVE FOR THE REDS! Meeting Robertson's inswinging corner with a powerful header from near the penalty spot, Van Dijk puts Liverpool 5-0 up before half-time! The Dutch defender rose highest in the box and directed his effort into the bottom-left corner!
44' SAVE! Travers makes another smart save: getting down low to tip a scuffed Firmino effort behind for a corner. That was bound for the bottom corner!
43' Following Liverpool's corner, the ball eventually drops to Salah on the left side of the area, but his attempt at goal drifts well over the crossbar.
42' A clever combination by Alexander-Arnold and Elliott sees the latter drive a dangerous ball across the box, but Senesi intervenes at the last second and diverts it behind for a corner.
40' Enjoying an excellent game so far, Elliott tries a throughball from just outside the area, but Salah is caught marginally offside and the assistant's flag is raised.
38' OFF THE POST! Bournemouth almost pull one back, as they take advantage of a rare lull from Liverpool to strike at goal through Christie. The Scottish midfielder clips the left post with an attempt from the left side of the box and the ball glances wide.
36' Bournemouth captain Smith has now been booked in his first four Premier League matches this season; becoming only the fourth player to do so. The last was 11 years ago.
A. Smith
Yellow Card
AFC Bournemouth
35' Clearly frustrated by events so far, Bournemouth skipper Smith crunches into a late tackle on Henderson and is booked by the referee.
33' Alexander-Arnold picks out his fellow full-back Robertson with a perceptive cross to the back post, but the ball bounces awkwardly and he can only steer his header over the crossbar from 10 yards out.
Roberto Firmino
Goal
Liverpool
31' FANTASTIC FIRMINO! The Brazilian maestro's game just keeps getting better, as Firmino follows up three assists with a goal of his own! After Salah's cross from the right takes a wicked deflection, the ball loops up into the air and is met at the back post with a close-range volley into the back of the net. It's 4-0 already, and Liverpool are yet to take their foot off the gas!
Roberto Firmino
Assist
Liverpool
28' Remarkably, Firmino completes a hat-trick of assists within half an hour - having had the last touch before Alexander-Arnold slammed home the third goal.
T. Alexander-Arnold
Goal
Liverpool
28' TERRIFIC TRENT! An absolute screamer from Alexander-Arnold brings Liverpool their third goal, as the full-back is invited to shoot by a back-tracking Bournemouth defence and arrows an unstoppable shot into the top corner from 20 yards! Travers had no chance, and that contender for August's 'Goal of the Month' puts the Reds 3-0 up!
26' Alisson charges from goal to clear the ball away from the on-rushing Anthony, and eventually makes his clearance from near the halfway line.
23' Another close call for Bournemouth, as Salah's low cross along the six-yard box, from the right side of the area, just evades Firmino's outstretched boot and zips wide of the goal.
21' Finally, the tempo of Liverpool's attack has dropped a notch, as they instead rotate the ball around in midfield, patiently waiting to draw their visitors out.
19' SHARP STOP! Travers to the rescue, as the Bournemouth goalkeeper tips a Salah shot over from close range! The chance was created by Firmino's inventive lobbed pass, and the Brazilian has been on fire so far; involved in almost every attack.
17' Lacking power on his attempt, Lerma aims a shot at goal from outside the box, but Allison makes a simple save in the bottom-right corner.
16' CLOSE! After wonderful combination play from Diaz and Firmino on the left, Elliott sweeps a delicious low ball across the six-yard box, but Salah somehow turns the ball wide of the target from close range! He really should have scored there: a great chance to put Liverpool three up!
14' After Moore wins a free-kick midway through the Liverpool half, the resulting free-kick eventually finds the Welsh striker in the box, but he can only steer a header into the waiting gloves of Alisson under pressure from two defenders.
12' Closing down a little too eagerly, Diaz gives away a free-kick for a clear foul on Mepham just outside the Bournemouth box. The home side have pressed furiously so far.
10' Perhaps the one-sided start to today's game should come as little surprise: Liverpool have won each of their last six Premier League games against Bournemouth, by an aggregate score of 19-1.
8' Driving forward again, Alexander-Arnold tries a throughball, but Firmino is caught narrowly offside. Liverpool are relentless at the moment; Bournemouth merely holding on for their lives.
Roberto Firmino

6' Having played in Diaz for the opener, Firmino registers another assist, though this one was less intentional: a ricochet that fell into Elliott's path.

6' THE REDS STRIKE AGAIN! Liverpool are tearing Bournemouth apart here, as some rapid interplay around the box sees the ball break to Elliott off Firmino's heel - the midfielder takes the opportunity with aplomb; driving the ball into the bottom-left corner from the edge of the box. That's 2-0 to Liverpool!
Roberto Firmino
Assist
Liverpool
3' After receiving the ball from Salah, Firmino turned sharply and clipped a cross to the back post for Diaz to head home the opening goal.

3' LIVERPOOL LEAD! Beating two men with some neat footwork just inside the area, then standing an inviting ball up to the back post, Firmino plays in Diaz, who rises well to steer a powerful header past Travers and give Liverpool an early lead! Already, it's 1-0 to the hosts!
2' Travers is forced into action early on, as Firmino almost latches onto a low throughball into the six-yard box.
1' Bournemouth kick off, and we are under way!
Under bright blue skies, the players are out on the pitch at Anfield, with kick-off now just moments away!
After making a number of changes for their EFL Cup tie on Tuesday, Bournemouth field a more familiar XI today, though Scott Parker has brought in three fresh faces compared to the team beaten by Arsenal last weekend. Christie, Cook and Anthony all start, while former Liverpool striker Solanke is available from the bench after recovering from an ankle injury.
Restored to the starting lineup after featuring from the bench on Monday, Fabinho replaces Milner in the Liverpool midfield and is Klopp's only change. Still without Darwin Nunez due to suspension, the hosts have a lengthy injury list too: Thiago Alcantara, Diogo Jota, Joel Matip, Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain are among those absent today.
SUBS: Neto, James Hill, Dominic Solanke, Jack Stacey, Ben Pearson, Owen Bevan, Philip Billing, Emiliano Marcondes, Christian Saydee.
BOURNEMOUTH (3-4-2-1): Mark Travers; Jefferson Lerma, Chris Mepham, Marcos Senesi; Adam Smith, Ryan Christie, Lewis Cook, Jordan Zemura; Jaidon Anthony, Marcus Tavernier; Kieffer Moore.
SUBS: Adrian, Harvey Davies, Nat Phillips, Kostas Tsimikas, Fabio Carvalho, Sepp van den Berg, James Milner, Bobby Clark, Stefan Bajcetic.
LIVERPOOL (4-3-3): Alisson; Trent Alexander-Arnold, Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez, Andrew Robertson; Fabinho, Jordan Henderson, Harvey Elliott; Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino, Luis Diaz.
After opening their comeback campaign with a 2-0 win over Aston Villa earlier this month, Bournemouth have lost both of their last two matches - against Manchester City and Arsenal - while conceding seven times in the process. The Cherries arrive on Merseyside having defeated Norwich City on penalties in the EFL Cup on Tuesday, but must step up in class today; taking on last term's Premier League runners-up.
Seeking the first win of their Premier League campaign, today Liverpool aim to recover from a sluggish start by getting the better of promoted opposition. With a tally of two points from their first three games, Jurgen Klopp's men actually trail today's visitors in the standings, having come away empty-handed from their clash with Manchester United on Monday. Though there are many more games to come, the Reds are already seven points adrift of early leaders Arsenal and five behind defending champions Manchester City, so will want to avoid another slip-up today.
Hello and welcome to live coverage of today's Premier League clash between Liverpool and Southampton at Anfield!
