Commentary

That's all from us today folks, we hope you enjoyed the game!
Leicester will be gutted that they didn't manage to hold on for the win and next up for them is a trip to Arsenal. Meanwhile Brentford will look to get their first win of the season when they face Manchester United.
Brentford come from 2-0 down to nick a point at the King Power, with a superb Dasilva strike late on making it 2-2. The hosts led 1-0 at the break through Castagne and Dewsbury-Hall doubled their lead just seconds after the restart with a terrific effort from distance. However, Brentford hit back and Toney pulled one back on 62 minutes and the striker should have scored another from close range not long after. However, Dasilva popped up in the 86th-minute with a fantastic curling shot to fire his side level and that’s how it finished.
90' + 4' FULL-TIME: LEICESTER 2-2 BRENTFORD
90' + 2' Leicester are in possession now in stoppage time, but it looks like Brentford will hold on for a point after a terrific second half comeback.
90' There will be a minimum of three minutes added time played at the end of the second half.
88' There’s just a couple of minutes, plus any additional time added on left to play now, can either side nick a winner?
J. Dasilva
Goal
86' GOAL! BRENTFORD HAVE EQUALISED! Dasilva makes it 2-2 with a fantastic strike to level the score! A loose ball falls to Dasilva midway in the Leicester half and he is allowed space to run at the defence and then cut inside onto his left foot and curl an effort straight into the top left corner. Superb finish and it could go either way now!
H. Dervişoğlu
Y. Wissa
83' Here come two more Brentford changes, with Wissa coming off and Dervisoglu is his replacement.
M. Sørensen
A. Hickey
83' The final change sees Hickey head off and on comes Sorensen.
81' We're into the final 10 minutes of the game now and Brentford are seeing a lot of the ball, but not much in the final third to create an opportunity.
79' Will Brentford get a better chance than the Toney one a couple of minutes ago? It was on a plate for the striker and he should have made it 2-2.
77' CHANCE! Toney with a superb opportunity to level the game! Leicester try to play out from the back, but lose possession in a dangerous position and Mbeumo whips an excellent cross into the penalty area, which Toney meets at the far post. However, he can’t get his header on target and it flies just wide of the post!
75' Brentford try to create something with a short corner, but the ball that comes into the box is poor and Leicester easily clear the danger.
S. Baptiste
C. Nørgaard
73' Brentford respond by making another substitution, with Norgaard coming off the pitch and he has been replaced by Baptiste.
P. Daka
K. Dewsbury-Hall
73' Leicester make their first change now, with Dewsbury-Hall making way for Daka.
71' Since pulling a goal back, Brentford haven't been able to test Ward in the Leicester net. You'd probably say that another Leicester goal at this point would wrap up the win for the hosts.
69' Lewis-Potter has scored in his side’s opening league game in each of the last two seasons, doing so for Hull at Gillingham in 2020-21, and at Preston in 2021-22.
67' OFF THE POST! So close to a third Leicester goal! Maddison whips a deep free-kick into the box and Fofana meets it and tries to place the ball into the far right corner of the net. However, it strikes the woodwork and then bounces away to safety!
66' You can really hear the away supporters getting behind their side and urging them forward in search of an equaliser. There is certainly plenty of time left on the clock.
64' It’s a completely different game now, with Brentford showing much more urgency to get forward and test the Leicester defence, who have shown that they can be beaten at the back.
R. Henry
Assist
62' Henry spotted the run of Toney in between a couple of Leicester defenders and picked him out perfectly in the box, with the striker doing the rest with a fine finish.
I. Toney
Goal
62' GOAL! BRENTFORD PULL ONE BACK! Leicester lose the ball deep inside their own half from a throw-in and it finds it way to Henry, who whips a low cross into the box towards Toney. The striker holds off Amartey and then drills his shot past Ward and into the back of the net. It’s 2-1!
61' As we pass the hour mark it remains Leicester who hold a 2-0 lead and they look good value for that at the moment, with Brentford not offering much in the final third.
K. Lewis-Potter
B. Mee
59' Mee is the other to make way, with Lewis-Potter heading on.
J. Dasilva
M. Jensen
59' Here come the Brentford substitutions, with Jensen the first to come off and he has been replaced by Dasilva.
58' It looks like Brentford are getting ready to make a couple of changes here, with Lewis-Potter one of those receiving some instructions and he’ll be making his Brentford debut.
56' Leicester remained unbeaten in their final four Premier League games of the 2021-22 season (W3 D1), with their 13 goals scored in this run as many as they’d netted in their previous 12 league games combined.
54' Decent chance! Mbuemo manages to find a bit of time and space in the Leicester box and he tries to curl the ball into the far right corner of the net. However, he doesn't get enough curl on the shot and it flies well wide.
52' It’s the visitors turn to enjoy a bit of possession, but Leicester look very comfortable at the back and Ward is yet to be truly tested in the Foxes goal.
50' Decent effort! Tielemans fires a low strike towards goal from around 25 yards out, but it lacks power to beat Raya, who gets down quickly and makes a good stop.
48' Brentford have it all to do now if they are to get anything out of the one, they couldn't have dreamt of a worse start to the second half, conceding within seconds of the restart.
J. Vardy
Assist
46' Vardy was alert to pick up the loose ball deep inside the Brentford half and then pick out his team-mate, who produced a fine finish to double Leicester's lead.
K. Dewsbury-Hall
Goal
46' GOAL! LEICESTER DOUBLE THEIR LEAD! Awful start to the second half by Brentford as Leicester make it 2-0 straight from the restart. Mee makes a poor clearance in his own half and the ball falls to Vardy, who flicks it to Dewsbury-Hall and the midfielder smashes the ball into the bottom right corner of the net. Great finish.
46' The second half is under way!
Brentford may need to think about making a few changes in the second half in order to get back into this one, as Leicester ended the half on top and they could easily be further behind.
Leicester lead 1-0 at the break, thanks to an excellent header from Castagne on 33 minutes following a corner. The game took a while to get going, but both sides had opportunities earlier on to open the scoring, with Mbuemo forcing Ward into a good save, before Maddison and Tielemans went close for the hosts. However, as the match progressed Leicester began to dominate possession and got their goal through Castagne, before Tielemans almost made it 2-0 shortly before the break, but his strike from distance hit the post.
45' + 1' HALF-TIME: LEICESTER 1-0 BRENTFORD
45' There will be a minimum of one minute added time played at the end of the first half.
44' Toney has hardly touched the ball for Brentford in the opening half, he’s been isolated for much of the game so far. The visitors need to change this in the second period if they are to get something out of the match.
42' OFF THE POST! Tielemans picks up a loose ball around 25 yards out and is allowed far too much time and space to pick his spot, so fires a low strike towards goal, but it hits the bottom left post! So close to a second for Leicester.
41' There isn’t long left to play before the end of the first half, can Brentford find an equaliser before the half-time whistle?
39' Decent effort! Maddison meets a deep cross from the left on the edge of the penalty area and fires a low volley towards the Brentford goal. However, it’s too close to Raya, who makes a good save.
37' Brentford need to try and get on the ball a bit more, as Leicester are controlling it at the moment and look very comfortable with their 1-0 lead.
35' Wissa goes for goal from a very tight angle after he finds space down the left wing in the box, but Evans gets across and makes a good block to send it behind for a corner.
J. Maddison
Assist
33' Vardy won the corner with a good run down the wing and Maddison then picked out Castagne perfectly with a superb corner delivery to his team-mate, who duly converted.
T. Castagne
Goal
33' GOAL! LEICESTER TAKE THE LEAD! Castagne opens the scoring for the Foxes from a corner to make it 1-0! Maddison whips the set piece into the box from the left flank and Castagne gets above everyone at the near post and powers a header into the back of the net, with Raya unable to get anywhere near it.
31' Maddison tries his luck from distance, firing a powerful effort towards the Brentford goal, but he gets too much on the shot and it flies high over the crossbar. Poor effort.
30' Leicester are on top now, with Brentford unable to string more than a couple of passes together when they do manage to win the ball back. However, they are defending well and not allowing Leicester much time or space in the final third.
28' We’re almost at the half an hour mark now and it remains goalless between Leicester and Brentford, but both teams have had an opportunity on goal to get on the scoresheet.
26' There have been a few too many sloppy passes from both sides in midfield so far, handing possession back to their opponents in silly positions.
24' Brentford lost both Premier League fixtures against Leicester City last season, both by a 2-1 scoreline. The Bees had previously never lost a top-flight game against the Foxes coming into the 2021-22 campaign (W2 D2).
22' We’ve had a frantic few minutes here at the King Power, with both teams having a decent chance to open the scoring and fire their team ahead.
20' CLOSE! Maddison sneaks between a couple of Brentford defence as Tielemans whipped a superb cross into the box from the right wing and gets his head to the ball, but he puts it just inches wide of the left post.
18' ALMOST! Toney is played through on goal with a long ball over the top of the Leicester defence and he only has Ward to beat, but the keeper just reaches it in the nick of time and smothers the danger.
17' Brentford are currently in possession, with Leicester having to sit deep in their own half and soak up all the pressure. Just lacking a bit of urgency at the moment.
15' A lovely ball comes into the penalty area from the right wing and Dewsbury-Hall tries to meet it in the six-yard box, but Jensen superbly gets across and makes the block.
13' SAVE! Out of nowhere Raya is tested in the Brentford goal! Tielemans is given far too much time and space to bring the ball forward and he gets to around 30 yards out and powers an effort towards the bottom right corner, but Raya gets across quickly and makes a good diving save.
11' This is the first time that Leicester City will begin a league campaign against Brentford, with the Foxes unbeaten in their last six meetings against the Bees (W5 D1) since a 3-2 defeat at home in March 1953 in the second tier.
9' CHANCE! Brentford work the ball well into the final third and it comes out to Mbuemo deep down the right, who is unmarked and he volleys an effort towards the Leicester goal. However, it’s too close to Ward, who makes a good save.
7' It’s been a slow start by both teams, as they try and get a foothold on the ball and create something. Vardy manages to win a corner off Jansen, for Leicester’s first of the game.
5' Good tackle! Vardy receives the ball deep down the left wing in the penalty area and Mee has to get across quickly and makes an excellent challenge to deny the striker.
3' Leicester are enjoying the early possession here in the opening few minutes of the game. However, Brentford are pressing them high up the pitch already, not allowing them out of their half.
1' We're under way!
The teams are out on the pitch and kick-off is just a few minutes away, stay tuned for all the match action!
Brentford hand debuts to Mee and Hickey in defence, while club record signing, Lewis-Potter has to make do with a spot on the bench.
Maddison and Fofana both start for Leicester, despite being heavily linked with moves away from the club. Brendan Rodgers is without Harvey Barnes today, who is ruled out due to injury.
BRENTFORD SUBS: Josh Dasilva, Frank Onyeka, Halil Dervisoglu, Thomas Strakosha, Keane Lewis-Potter, Shandon Baptiste, Mads Bech Sorensen, Mads Roerslev, Finley Stevens.
BRENTFORD (4-3-3): David Raya; Aaron Hickey, Pontus Jansson, Ben Mee, Rico Henry; Mathias Jensen, Christian Norgaard, Vitaly Janelt; Bryan Mbuemo, Ivan Toney, Yoane Wissa.
LEICESTER SUBS: Caglar Soyuncu, Marc Albrighton, Kelechi Iheanacho, Ayoze Perez, Patson Daka, Nampalys Mendy, Dennis Praet, Daniel Iversen, Luke Thomas.
LEICESTER (3-5-1-1): Danny Ward; Wesley Fofana, Jonny Evans, Daniel Amartey; Timothy Castagne, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Wilfred Ndidi, Youri Tielemans, James Justin; James Maddison; Jamie Vardy.
Meanwhile Brentford finished 13th, in their first season back in the top-flight and have made several key signings to strengthen their squad, including Ben Mee and Keane Lewis-Potter. However, they have lost influential midfielder, Christian Eriksen to Manchester United.
Leicester will be looking to improve on their eighth placed finish last season but are yet to make any moves in the transfer window and have lost Kasper Schmeichel to Nice earlier this week. However, they are unbeaten against Brentford in their last six games, so they’ll be confident of getting a result today.
