Commentary

That's all from us, we'll see you for the next game. Until then though, goodbye!
That late equaliser finally gives Everton their first point of the season, meaning their three-loss start to 1990-91 won't be replicated. Forest will be disappointed to have conceded that equaliser, however it gives them a return of four points from three games, which, for a newly-promoted side, continues an impressive start to the season.
Gray's late equaliser ensured Everton won't start their season with three back-to-back losses, and the winger was superb throughout. Three of his six shots were on target, and he also crossed 12 times, completing two key passes. He had seven touches in the box, made 15 passes in the final third, and also won possession in Forest's defensive area too. Crucial.
What a game that turned out to be! After it looked like neither side would find a breakthrough, Johnson's rebound finish looked to have sent Forest on the way towards three points with less than 10 minutes left, but Everton rallied, piling on the pressure and eventually catching the visitors napping, which allowed Gray to slot home! The Toffees went close again as the clock ticked down, however a point apiece is probably the fairest result on the balance on the game.
90' + 4' FULL-TIME: EVERTON 1-1 NOTTINGHAM FOREST.
90' + 3' CHANCE!!! A woeful header back from Worrall gives Gordon space in the box, but Henderson races out to make himself big, and parries the shot away from close range!
90' + 2' OVER!!!! Everton have another glorious chance as Gordon tees up Iwobi. He looks to place a shot in the top corner, but just overhits it and the ball lands on the roof of the net!
90' + 2' SAVED!!! After Henderson catches Gray's corner, Forest are dispossessed in midfield again and Gordon cuts inside from the left, firing a shot that the goalkeeper again has to parry away!
90' + 1' We're into four added minutes to see out the match, and can either side find a late winner here?
90' OVER!!! Kouyate does well to keep hold of the ball before feeding Toffolo, and his cross into the area is met by the arriving Yates, but his volley flies just over the bar!
J. Pickford
Assist
88' What a ball from Pickford, whose long kick caught out the Forest defence, and whilst it's a sloppy one for the visitors to concede, Gray did superbly to finish off his keeper's pass!
D. Gray
Goal
88' GOOOOAAAAALLLLLL!!!!! It's 1-1!!!!! Pickford's long ball forward beats the high line of Forest's defence, and Gray races in behind and slots it beyond Henderson into the corner!!! The hosts equalise, and the home fans celebrate, as this game takes another wild twist!
86' After netting three goals in his first four Premier League games for Everton, Gray has scored just twice more in his last 32 appearances. He’s had just three shots in his two games this season, after averaging 1.9 per game in his 34 appearances last season.
85' CHANCES!!!! McNeil's ball in causes chaos in Forest's box, as Henderson drops it, allowing the ball to fall to Gray, but his effort is blocked!!! It comes to Gordon, whose placed effort is also deflected, before Worrall eventually slices it clear and away!
C. Kouyaté
J. Lingard
84' Steve Cooper makes a wise defensive change, as he takes off Lingard for Cheikhou Kouyate, another making his Reds debut!
83' The Forest fans are in full song now, and it'll be backs to the wall for the visitors now as they look to hold onto this slender lead!
B. Johnson
Goal
81' GOOOOOAAAALLLLL!!!! There it is!!!! Forest hit the front with less than 10 minutes left and the away end goes crazy!!! Yates has a pop from 20 yards which Pickford sees late and parries, but Johnson reacts quickest to send the Everton keeper the wrong way and fires the ball into the far corner! 1-0 on 81 minutes, and Forest may well have just notched a second consecutive Premier League victory!
79' Toffolo's wide cross is headed away to O'Brien, who attempts an audacious left-footed volley that skews well away from the target!
78' SAVED!!! Everton break at speed and spread the ball wide to Patterson. He links up with Gordon, who cuts inside and shoots on his left foot, but the low effort is one that Henderson can hold!
76' WIDE!!!! Gibbs-White's cross into the area is headed away, but Williams follows in to fire a venomous shot which flies across the face of goal and wide!
74' BLOCKED!!! O'Brien does well to bring down a loose ball and find Yates in the box. He shoots low, but a deflection off Coady takes the ball beyond Pickford and just wide of the post!
74' Gordon and Gray have provided much of Everton's spark in attack, with the former having two shots on target and contesting a game-high 16 duels. He's maintained a 100 per cent passing rate in Forest's half, and has completed two key passes, as well as winning two free-kicks.
72' SAVED!!! Iwobi finds Gordon in the box, who turns and shoots for the bottom corner, but Henderson stretches to tip it around the post!
72' Play resumes, with Iwobi looking to test Henderson straight away by playing McNeil in, but Henderson hoofs it clear.
70' Henderson drops to his haunches in the Forest box, holding his leg. He's quickly seen to by the physios, who will be doing everything they can to make sure he stays on.
69' Gordon surges down the left and heads for the byline, but Cook gets across to put the ball out for the corner, which will be Everton's fourth of the match.
67' Everton break via McNeil down the left. He holds up the ball and waits for support to arrive, but his square ball into the middle for Gray is cut out by McKenna!
65' Williams steps up from 30 yards and tries an ambitious shot, but it doesn't get close to the goal and curls away into the stands.
64' Onana scythes down O'Brien with a reckless challenge 30 yards from his own goal, and he is very, very lucky not to be shown a second yellow card there!
62' SAVED!!! Gray's wide free-kick is struck low, bouncing right in front of Henderson, and the Forest goalkeeper has to react very quickly to parry it back out of the goalmouth!
M. Gibbs-White
T. Awoniyi
61' One Forest record signing makes away for another, as Awoniyi is brought off for Morgan Gibbs-White, signed in the last few days from Wolves for what could eventually be a £44 million fee!
A. Onana
Yellow Card
60' Onana attempted to drag Awoniyi down as he made that final pass, and he's booked for his rugby tackle-esque challenge!
60' CHANCE!!! Onana loses out to Awoniyi in midfield, and the Forest striker races away. He looks to play Johnson in down the right, but overhits the pass and denies his strike partner a good sight of goal!
59' Lingard passes halfway with the ball and frees up Williams down the right. He looks to play in Johnson with an aerial throughball, but it runs on through to Pickford.
A. Onana
T. Davies
57' Davies has been impressive in the middle for the Toffees, but comes off now for Amadou Onana to make his home debut.
D. McNeil
S. Rondón
57' Frank Lampard rings the changes for Everton, with the first substitution seeing Rondon come off for Dwight McNeil.
56' Gray surges down the right and takes on four Forest defenders on his way into the box. He floats it across to Rondon at the far post, but he can't get there in time thanks to pressure from Worrall!
R. Yates
O. Mangala
55' Mangala goes down holding his hamstring, and won't be able to continue, so vice-captain Ryan Yates comes on in his place.
54' Everton have kept six clean sheets in their 10 Premier League games against Nottingham Forest, their highest percentage against any opponent they’ve faced 10+ times in the competition. However, the Toffees have lost all of the four games in which they’ve conceded against Forest.
52' WIDE!!! Everton win the ball deep in Forest's half, and Davies finds Rondon on the edge of the box. He flicks it up and shoots on the volley, but can only hit it just wide of the post!
50' Awoniyi engages three blue shirts as he looks to provide cover down the left, but he loses possession and tugs back Holgate in frustration, conceding a free-kick.
48' Everton start the second stanza brightly, as Davies has a shot from a tight angle, but it's blocked by Toffolo for Forest!
46' Everton resume proceedings, and we're back underway for the second half!
The sides are back out for the second half, and who can make the crucial difference for their side in this match?
Although he's not had much love off the home crowd, ex-Liverpool wing-back Williams has been impressive down the right for Forest, having a shot on target and completing a key passes, as well as putting in four crosses from open play. He's also made three tackles and a clearance, winning possession four times, but the back-and-forth nature of the game so far has also resulted in him losing the ball 12 times.
The whistle goes, and whilst it's still 0-0, both sides have had copious chances to open the scoring! Everton started the brighter, with Davies twice going close, but since then Forest have really come back into the game, testing Pickford and the Toffees backline on a number of occasions! It's too close to call at the moment, and we only need one thing to really break this game open: A goal!
45' + 1' HALF-TIME: EVERTON 0-0 NOTTINGHAM FOREST.
45' + 1' We're into a sole minute of added time at the end of this first half.
45' Forward come Everton through Gray, who has options but surges down the right byline. He shoots, but it's an awful effort that clears the crossbar by some distance!
44' Forest's relentless pressing has Everton trapped in their own half at the moment, with the Toffees unable to get out and the Reds winning possession at any and every available opportunity!
42' Williams whips in Forest's first corner of the match, and gets the ball back for another attempt, which forces a punch from Pickford!
40' It's been a lively game so far with half-time fast approaching. Both sides have had positive spells, albeit with neither able to create many clear-cut chances. Second-half changes may be what this game needs for an uptick in quality in the final third, and Forest's fans will be anticipating the introduction of their four new signings.
38' Forest look positive coming forward, engineering another good move down the right through Williams. He crosses back for Mangala, but his ball to the other flank for Toffolo is cut out.
37' Forest have faced more shots (42) and have the highest expected goals against tally (4.03) in the Premier League so far this season. Forest are also averaging the fewest passes per game so far this term (291).
A. Iwobi
Yellow Card
35' After an Everton corner, won by Gray, is headed cleared, Iwobi handles the bouncing ball ahead of Mangala's foot, and concedes a free-kick and yellow card.
34' Johnson picks up a loose ball and surges down the right for Forest. Iwobi gets goal-side of him and wins the ball back, but he's fouled by the Forest striker to win a free-kick deep in his own half!
32' SAVED!!! Awoniyi latches onto Tarkowski's loose pass, but can't set Lingard up to shoot. Forest get the ball back though, and Awoniyi this time tees up Mangala, but his low effort is well held by Pickford!
31' OVER!!! After one corner goes astray, Gray's next one is taken short, and the winger gets the ball back before cutting inside and shooting for the edge of the box. It's a cracker of a shot, which whistles just over the top of Henderson's crossbar!
30' SAVED!!! Gray's free-kick is fired towards the near post, and Henderson has to react quickly under pressure to tip it behind for a corner!
N. Williams
Yellow Card
29' Williams loses out to Mykolenko as the Everton left-back outmuscles him and races away with the ball. He crosses for Gordon, who has a shot blocked, but Williams flies in on Mykolenko with a wild challenge and concedes a free-kick, being shown a yellow card for his troubles.
28' In a run going back to May 1997, Forest have lost 15 of their last 21 Premier League away games, winning only four. However, one of those victories came at Everton in January 1999.
26' The energetic Mangala wins the ball in midfield, before giving the ball to Lingard. He plays a throughball down the byline, but neither Toffolo or Awoniyi can get there in time and Holgate intercepts.
24' SAVED!!! Tarkowski has his pocked pinched by Johnson, who feeds Awoniyi. He shapes to shoot and does so, but it's a fairly tame shot which Pickford can save comfortably!
23' Everton have lost both their Premier League games so far this season, and haven’t lost each of their opening three matches in a league campaign since 1990-91.
A. Gordon
Yellow Card
21' Gray's free-kick towards Davies is cleared, and Toffolo comes away with the ball down the left. Gordon races in with a woeful sliding tackle, and it's a nasty challenge which warrants a yellow card for the Toffees winger.
J. Worrall
Yellow Card
20' Mykolenko looks to put Gray into space down the left, but his run is halted by Worrall clipping him off the ball, and the Forest captain is rightfully booked.
19' SAVED!!! After a Johnson attempt is blocked, Forest recycle possession and Mangala finds Williams in space. He has a crack from the edge of the box, and shoots across goal, but Pickford gets across and parries it away!
18' Everton have lost seven of their last 10 home Premier League games against newly promoted clubs, most recently against Watford and Brentford last season. Before this run, they’d won 10 in a row at Goodison Park between April 2016 and November 2018.
16' Davies is in space again, and looks to put Rondon through on goal, but overhits the throughball and it rolls towards Henderson's gloves.
15' SAVED!!!! Iwobi brings it forward for Everton, before finding Gray centrally. He turns and shoots, but his low effort towards the bottom corner is held by Henderson!
14' SAVED!!! Gordon's really in the mood, trying his luck from 25 yards and forcing a good save from Henderson!
12' Forest have only won eight of their 56 away top-flight matches against Everton (14 per cent), with only two coming in the Premier League era, in 1994 and 1999 respectively.
10' WIDE!!! Back come Everton as Gordon cuts inside from the right. He tees up Davies, who shoots from the edge of the box, but he can only drag his effort across goal and just wide!
10' Coady fires a long ball forward for Mykolenko to chase, but Cook heads it back to Henderson before the wing-back can get there.
8' Forest move the ball centrally to O'Brien, but he's clipped late by Gordon before he can release the ball, and the Reds gain a free-kick.
6' Gordon drives forward and plays a smart one-two with Gray. He looks to cross from the byline, but Toffolo steps in to put it behind for an Everton corner.
5' This is the first meeting between Everton and Nottingham Forest since January 1999 in the Premier League, with Forest picking up their first win under Ron Atkinson in a 1-0 victory at Goodison Park.
3' CHANCE!!! Gray's delivery is perfect, deceiving the Forest defence and leaving Davies unmarked at the back post, but he can't react quick enough to prod the ball home!
2' Gordon flicks the ball past Worrall but is pulled back and to the floor by the Forest captain, who concedes an early free-kick.
1' Lingard kicks off for the visitors, and we're underway in Merseyside!
The two sets of players are out on the pitch, and we're almost ready for kick-off at Goodison!
Forest make just the one change, with Steve Cook coming into side for the injured Moussa Niakhate. Their bench, however, feautres four new signings, with Emmanuel Dennis, Remo Freuler, Cheikhou Kouyate and record signing Morgan Gibbs-White all ready and raring to make their debuts off the bench for the Reds.
Everton make two changes from their loss to Aston Villa, with the injured Abdoulaye Doucoure and benched Dwight McNeil replaced by Tom Davies and Salomon Rondon respectively. New signing Amadou Onana is also on the bench.
NOTTINGHAM FOREST SUBS: Wayne Hennessey, Giulian Biancone, Morgan Gibbs-White, Sam Surridge, Alex Mighten, Cheikhou Kouyate, Ryan Yates, Remo Freuler, Emmanuel Dennis.
NOTTINGHAM FOREST (3-4-1-2): Dean Henderson; Joe Worrall, Steve Cook, Scott McKenna; Neco Williams, Orel Mangala, Lewis O’Brien, Harry Toffolo; Jesse Lingard; Brennan Johnson, Taiwo Awoniyi.
EVERTON SUBS: Asmir Begovic, Michael Keane, Allan, Dwight McNeil, Amadou Onana, Dele Alli, Seamus Coleman, Jean-Philippe Gbamin, Ruben Vinagre.
EVERTON (3-4-3): Jordan Pickford; Mason Holgate, Conor Coady, James Tarkowski; Nathan Patterson, Tom Davies, Alex Iwobi, Vitalii Mykolenko; Salomon Rondon, Anthony Gordon, Demarai Gray.
Forest, meanwhile, secured their first top-flight victory in over 20 years with their 1-0 win over West Ham at the City Ground, and Steve Cooper’s side, which has been bolstered significantly by new signings since their last game, will be looking to build on those three points against an Everton side low on confidence.
It’s been a worrying start for Everton, with Frank Lampard’s side having lost both their opening games so far. They're yet to score a goal too, with ex-Toffee Lucas Digne’s own goal giving them a consolation in their 2-1 loss to Aston Villa last time out.
Hello, and welcome to live coverage of this Premier League fixture, as Everton welcome Nottingham Forest to Goodison Park.
