That's all from Goodison Park today, so thank you for joining us and goodbye!
With their destiny still in their own hands, Everton conclude their troubled campaign with games against Crystal Palace and Arsenal during the coming week, while Brentford finish up on home soil, where they welcome the Toffees' relegation rivals Leeds to the capital on the final day.
The Goodison Park survival party anticipated when Everton went in front early on has been hastily cancelled, as they end today's game with nine men and no points. The home fans stare ashen-faced in amazement at their team's implosion, as red cards for Branthwaite and Rondon effectively ended hopes of securing the win that would guarantee the Toffees' long-held top flight status. Brentford capitalised on their hosts' errors to take full advantage, though, and remain in the hunt for a remarkable top-half finish.
90' + 4' Surely the final chance falls to Richarlison, who chops inside from the right side of the box before opting to shoot at goal. His effort is struck tamely at Raya, with other blue shirts waiting in the centre.
90' + 2' Dasilva buys a free-kick on the right side of the area, after exchanging passes with Toney. Eriksen whips a deep cross in, but Everton manage to get the ball away.
90' OFF THE LINE! Holgate makes a last-gasp intervention - clearing the ball away with a header to stop Eriksen's goal-bound drive from the edge of the box. That keeps his team alive in this game, but they are two men down and have just four stoppage-time minutes remaining!
S. Rondón
Red Card
88' Remarkably, Rondon is red-carded for a horrible lunging tackle on Henry, ending his involvement after four minutes on the pitch. Everton are down to nine men!
86' Doucoure commits a foul inside the Brentford half, and Everton's attempt at building pressure comes to an end. They have taken a more direct approach since Rondon came on, but to no avail.
S. Rondón
S. Coleman
84' Everton's last roll of the dice sees Coleman taken off and centre-forward Rondon thrown on.
82' After finding space on the edge of the area, Eriksen drags a scuffed shot from outside the box several feet past the right-hand post.
80' Everton are struggling to build any momentum as they seek to mount a late comeback, and Brentford are frustrating them by keeping the ball.
78' OFF THE POST! Free at the back post, Doucoure heads the ball down into the turf from Gray's outswinging free-kick, and it bounces up onto the top of the post via a touch from Raya! Everton have a corner.
77' Freshly onto the field, Roerslev needlessly gives away a free-kick deep inside his own half. Richarlison takes the invitation to go down, and Everton can send this into the box.
M. Rasmussen
Y. Wissa
75' Being involved in two goals, Wissa has enjoyed a productive outing today. He makes way for Roerslev, who will provide Brentford with more defensive cover.
74' Brentford are within minutes of becoming the first promoted team since West Bromwich Albion in 2010-11 to complete the Premier League double over Everton. Meanwhile, the Toffees have won just one of five games against promoted sides so far this season, and look set to see that record worsen further.
J. Kenny
André Gomes
72' Lampard also replaces Gomes; Kenny comes on.
D. Gray
A. Gordon
71' After putting in a hard-working shift, Gordon is replaced by Gray for the final 20 minutes.
69' Pushing on for a fourth goal, Brentford again work the ball to Henry inside the area, but he swipes hurriedly at it and his shot bobbles harmlessly towards the outstretched gloves of Pickford.
66' After conceding a shock second, Brentford have gone on to use their extra man more effectively, and by optimising the width brought by Mbeumo and Henry, they have pulled the 10-man Toffees out of shape.
C. Nørgaard
64' Norgaard found Henry's run from the opposite side with a high ball into the box from the right, setting up Brentford's third goal.
R. Henry
64' THE BEES LEAD! Stealing into space near the penalty spot, Henry - who has been a thorn in Everton's side throughout the second half - powers home a header; finding the right side of the net from Norgaard's deep cross. Suddenly, Brentford are 3-2 up!
C. Eriksen
62' An inswinging corner from the left sees Eriksen register another assist - picking out Wissa's clever run.
Y. Wissa
62' BRENTFORD LEVEL! With an excellent near-post run, Wissa evades Richarlison's close attentions to flick a header from Eriksen's corner into the back of the net! It zips past Pickford and into the far corner, bringing Brentford back onto level terms: 2-2!
61' Gordon once again tracks back to charge down a Henry cross, and Brentford have another set-piece opportunity from a left-sided corner.
J. Dasilva
K. Ajer
59' Thomas Frank opts for another change, as Ajer makes way for Dasilva.
59' After a brief review, Mykolenko breathes again, as he goes unpunished for responding to Toney with a thrust of his head. The VAR backs up the officials' on-field judgement and the game goes on.
58' The VAR has decided to assess a head-to-head confrontation between Mykolenko and Toney, with the former apparently in danger of being the second Everton man sent off!
57' SAVE! Pickford parries the ball away, though not entirely convincingly, after Eriksen whips in a typically dangerous ball towards the six-yard box. Everton escape again!
56' Brentford have a free-kick, after Henry draws a foul from Iwobi on the left side of the area. Surely Eriksen will take charge of this situation?
54' From wide on the left, Eriksen's strong cross finds Jensen in the area, but his reflex effort at goal only strikes Toney in the face. Everton then clear the ball, but it soon comes back.
52' Everton twice repel Brentford balls into the box, with Richarlison tracking back to clear away Janelt's cutback. Then Pickford flies out of his goal with a punched clearance before the assistant's flag goes up for offside.
50' A speculative effort by Wissa is sliced well over the crossbar under pressure from Doucoure, around 25 yards from the Everton goal.
48' Iwobi releases Richarlison on the left flank, but his whipped cross along the six-yard box zips past the lunge of Calvert-Lewin, who cannot get a touch on the ball. So close!
V. Janelt
M. Sørensen
46' Brentford have made a half-time alteration: Janelt replaces Sorensen, who conceded the penalty and was also on a booking.
We are back under way at Goodison!
Perhaps unsurprisingly, Brentford have had 65 per cent of the ball during the first half, but they somehow trail opponents who have been reduced in number. Their tally of eight shots to Everton's nine indicates the Bees must show more sting if they are turn this game around - Leeds and Burnley fans will certainly hope they can!
An eventful first half concludes with the hosts improbably one goal to the good, as 10-man Everton strike from the spot to take a 2-1 lead down the tunnel at a febrile Goodison Park. Despite their lively opening, in which they went a goal up, the Toffees have spent most of the game on the back foot since Branthwaite's dismissal, and Brentford really should have scored more than once. They have ridden their luck, but only 45 minutes away from guaranteeing safety, can Everton hold on?
Penalty Goal
45' + 2' EVERTON BACK IN FRONT! Richarlison stays cool, taking a staggered approach to the penalty spot before placing the ball past Raya, who dives the wrong way. Straight down the centre! Against the odds, Everton are 2-1 up!
45' + 1' PENALTY! An incredible chance for 10-man Everton to regain the lead! Sorensen clumsily takes down Richarlison just inside the area, and a spot-kick is awarded immediately before half-time.
44' SAVE! Not for the first time of late, Pickford comes to the rescue of his Everton team-mates, as he dives right to punch away Mbeumo's powerful shot from the right side of the box.
43' A delightful long ball by Eriksen finds Toney unmarked deep inside the Everton area, but the Brentford striker fails to make clean contact; allowing the chance to escape his grasp.
42' Jensen crosses from the right to pick out Henry in an advanced position, but the full-back's volleyed effort is saved comfortably by Pickford at his near post.
41' From the free-kick, the ball eventually breaks to Doucoure 25 yards out, but he lashes wildly at it, and his attempt spirals ever higher over the crossbar.
K. Ajer
Yellow Card
40' Lunging into a challenge with Calvert-Lewin in midfield, Ajer mistimes his tackle and is booked by the referee.
S. Coleman
Own Goal
37' BRENTFORD DRAW LEVEL! Finally, the pressure pays, as Wissa crosses from the right side of the six-yard box, following Toney's pass from the opposite side, and the ball then strikes the unfortunate Coleman before finding the net! It's 1-1 at Goodison, and this game looks very different since the red card!
36' SAVE! Raya flings himself to the left, making a smart stop from Gomes, who had found a yard of space to unleash a powerful strike at goal. It was never quite going to find the corner, but the Brentford goalkeeper was alert.
34' Coleman cuts out a dangerous Henry cross from the inside-left channel, getting the ball clear on the edge of his own area.
32' A coming-together between Richarlison and Norgaard sees both sets of players converge in a series of verbal exchanges, but the former is eventually able to climb to his feet and the game resumes.
30' Jensen breaks into the box again, and after Gomes mishits the ball into his path, volleys hurriedly - sending a shot well wide of the right-hand post.
29' Iwobi covers across from the right to deny Jensen a chance to strike from the corner of the box, and Everton survive a real scare - they certainly have a long time to hold out here, but at least have an advantage to cling on to.
C. Nørgaard
Yellow Card
27' A crude trip by Norgaard on the fast-breaking Doucoure results in a merited booking.
26' Mbeumo is left crumpled on the touchline after colliding with Mykolenko, but after a brief moment of concern, the Brentford forward is able to hobble back onto the pitch and continue.
24' Everton appear to have reverted to a four-man back line following Branthwaite's dismissal, with Coleman shifting to right-back.
22' Everton have a corner, which Gordon takes to the near post again, but this time Brentford are alive to the threat and get the ball clear.
20' JUST WIDE! From the free-kick that Branthwaite conceded, Eriksen zips a powerful 20-yard strike narrowly past the left-hand post, with Pickford scrambling to make a save.
J. Branthwaite
Red Card
18' RED CARD! On just his third Premier League start, Branthwaite is sensationally sent off, after he hauls down Toney outside the area. Everton go down to 10 men - with more than an hour left to play!
17' Richarlison is claiming for a penalty, having had his shirt pulled by Ajer in the box, but Brentford escape censure and break downfield.
14' The home crowd are in full song, as they anticipate a vital victory, but there remains a long way to go until full-time here at Goodison.
12' Everton's early pressure pays, as six shots in the first 10 minutes ultimately result in a precious opening goal.
10' Gordon earned and took the free-kick, which Richarlison latched onto with a slight touch, that then went in off Calvert-Lewin's chest.
D. Calvert-Lewin
10' EVERTON LEAD! Capitalising on their rapid start, Everton go in front via a scuffed finish from Richarlison, who bundles the ball across goal and in off the far post, by way of an incidental touch from Calvert-Lewin. The latter claims the goal, and the Toffees are one step closer to survival!
M. Sørensen
Yellow Card
10' A loose touch by Sorensen sees the ball run away from him, and his attempt to regain it brings down Gordon. That's a free-kick and he'll receive a yellow card.
9' To the vocal displeasure of the home fans, Brentford have finally got their foot on the ball, keeping possession in central midfield. The Bees have just about managed to withstand a whirlwind start from their hosts.
7' JUST WIDE! Ajer errs inside his own box, allowing a lofted cross by Iwobi to drop over his shoulder. Richarlison is alert and manages to prod the ball just past the far post, with Raya beaten.
6' A whipped free-kick from the right picks out Toney near the penalty spot, but the forward's header glances wide of the Everton goal.
4' CLOSE! After Gordon surges between two defenders into the box, his close-range shot is palmed away by Raya, before Richarlison nods wide with a headed effort on the rebound. A great chance spurned by the Brazilian!
2' An early Everton corner is cleared away to the edge of the box, from where Mykolenko turns a volleyed shot well wide of the target.
1' We are under way on Merseyside, with Everton seeking victory to complete their escape from relegation!
The players are out on the pitch at a raucous Goodison Park, and kick-off is now just moments away!
Unchanged from last week's win over Southampton, the visitors aim to maintain momentum with a front three of Wissa, Mbeumo and Toney. Canos is back among the Bees substitutes after a spell out with a hamstring injury, as Brentford again name an all-Danish midfield trio.
Making a trio of changes to the Everton team that drew against Watford in midweek, Lampard brings Gomes, Calvert-Lewin and Branthwaite into his starting XI. While Gray is therefore demoted to the bench, Fabian Delph and Michael Keane miss out altogether; joining injured pair Donny van de Beek and Ben Godfrey among others on the sidelines.
SUBS: Jonas Lossl, Sergi Canos, Myles Peart-Harris, Finley Stevens, Julian Jeanvier, Mads Roerslev, Shandon Baptiste, Vitaly Janelt, Josh Dasilva.
BRENTFORD (4-3-3): David Raya; Kristoffer Ajer, Pontus Jansson, Mads Bech Sorensen, Rico Henry; Christian Eriksen, Christian Norgaard, Mathias Jensen; Bryan Mbeumo, Ivan Toney, Yoane Wissa.
SUBS: Asmir Begovic, Isaac Price, Salomon Rondon, Dele Alli, Demarai Gray, Reece Welch, Tom Davies, Jonjoe Kenny, Allan.
EVERTON (4-3-3): Jordan Pickford; Seamus Coleman, Mason Holgate, Jarrad Branthwaite, Vitalii Mykolenko; Abdoulaye Doucoure, Andre Gomes, Alex Iwobi; Anthony Gordon, Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Richarlison.
Having most recently beaten Southampton 3-0, Brentford have already assured a second season of Premier League football, and six wins from nine sees them occupying 13th spot in the table - only five points adrift of a top-half place. The Bees' 1-0 win when Everton visited the Brentford Community Stadium earlier this season was followed by a 4-1 thumping at the hands of today's opponents in the FA Cup, and they have not kept a clean sheet away from home since September.
Aiming to take a step closer to Premier League survival, Everton were forced to settle for just a point from a goalless draw with Championship-bound Watford in midweek, but their destiny remains in their own hands with three games remaining. The Toffees' recent revival has left them two points clear of Burnley and one above Leeds United -still with at least one game in hand over both. In recent weeks, Frank Lampard's men have taken 10 points from the last 12 available at Goodison Park, and three more today will ultimately keep them up.
Hello and welcome to live coverage of today's Premier League clash between Everton and Brentford, at Goodison Park!
