Bucs' injury problems have eased in the last few weeks with the likes of Richard Ofori, Innocent Maela and Zakhele Lepasa returning from their long-term injuries. However, Thembinkosi Lorch was added to the Bucs' injury list ahead of the team's win over Eswatini champions Royal Leopards in the Caf Confederation Cup clash on Sunday.

GOAL predicts Bucs' starting line-up ahead of their encounter against SuperSport on Wednesday.

  • Richard Ofori Orlando Pirates 2022.

    GOALKEEPER - Richard Ofori

Ghana's finest keeper marked his first appearance in this season's Confederation Cup with a clean sheet against Leopards.

Ofori will now be hoping to make it two clean sheets in a row when he faces Matsatsantsa at the iconic Orlando Stadium.

  • Bandile Shandu Orlando Pirates 2022.

    RIGHT-BACK - Bandile Shandu

The attack-minded full-back scored in his last domestic game as Pirates lost to Marumo Gallants in the Nedbank Cup clash last week.

Shandu will be bracing himself for a battle with 2018/19 National First Division Golden Boot winner Iqraam Rayners, who has become SuperSport's first-choice left-winger.

  • Paseka Mako, Orlando Pirates, October 2021

    LEFT-BACK - Paseka Mako

The former Chippa United star has managed to keep Bafana Bafana international Innocent Maela on the bench due to consistent performances for Bucs.

Mako is set to make his 29th appearance of the season across all competitions including 19 matches in the PSL.

  • Olisa Ndah, Orlando Pirates, October 2021

    CENTRAL DEFENDER - Olisa Ndah

The 24-year-old player has established himself as Bucs' first-choice centre back with his outstanding displays this term.

Ndah is most likely to be assigned to man-mark former Pirates striker Thamsanqa Gabuza, who will be looking to haunt the Soweto giants.

  • Ntsikelelo Nyauza, Orlando Pirates, March 2022

    CENTRAL DEFENDER - Ntsikelelo Nyauza

The bulky defender has moved ahead of Happy Jele in Pirates' central defensive pecking order having captained the team against Leopards and Kaizer Chiefs on March 3.

Nyauza, who is the second longest-serving player in the current Pirates squad, will be determined to lead the team to its eighth league win of the current campaign.

  • Thabang Monare Orlando Pirates.

    CENTRAL MIDFIELDER - Thabang Monare

The experienced midfield general has rediscovered the form which saw him attract interest from Pirates and Chiefs before he joined Bucs in 2020.

Monare's midfield battle with SuperSport midfield maestro Jesse Donn could be key to determining who wins the match.

  • Goodman Mosele, Orlando Pirates, September 2021

    CENTRAL MIDFIELDER - Goodman Mosele

The 2019/20 PSL Young Player of the Season will be brimming with confidence after being included in Bafana's final 23-man squad for the upcoming friendlies against Guinea and France.

A hard-working box-to-box midfielder, Mosele was one of the standout performers during Bucs' emphatic win over Leopards - providing two assists on the night.

  • Fortune Makaringe, Orlando Pirates, October 2021

    ATTACKING MIDFIELDER - Fortune Makaringe

The 28-year-old playmaker marked his return to the Soweto giants' starting line-up by scoring one of the best goals in this season's Confederation Cup against Leopards.

Makaringe could be the key to unlocking SuperSport's defence and he will also pose a threat with a long-range shooting ability.

  • Kabelo Dlamini Orlando Pirates 2022.

    RIGHT FORWARD - Kabelo Dlamini

Lorch's recent injury has given Dlamini a chance to sparkle for the Buccaneers having grabbed a goal and provided an assist during the team's win over Leopards.

Dlamini, who is blessed with a special left foot, will be eager to replicate the same form when he faces the three-time PSL champions.

  • Deon Hotto, Orlando Pirates, November 2021

    LEFT FORWARD - Deon Hotto

The Namibia international has arguably been Pirates' most consistent attacker this season having scored five times and provided seven assists across all competitions.

Blessed with explosive speed, Hotto will be up against SuperSport's tough-tackling young right-back Keenan Phillips in an intriguing battle.

  • Terrence Dzvukamanja, Orlando Pirates, October 2021

    CENTRE FORWARD - Terrence Dzvukamanja

The left-footed striker proved to be an inspired substitute against Leopards as he changed the complexion of the game and sealed Bucs' 3-0 win with a late goal.

Dzvukamanja could be rewarded with a starting berth against Matsatsantsa's stubborn defence which has kept two successive clean sheets.
