'Potter's time has expired, Chelsea should retire Aubameyang jersey' - Fans after Manchester City defeat
Chelsea supporters in Africa have called on the club's top hierarchy to fire manager Graham Potter and terminate the contract of forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang after they suffered a 1-0 Premier League defeat against Manchester City on Thursday.
The Blues went into the fixture at Stamford Bridge seeking to bounce back to winning ways having dropped points in the 1-1 draw against Nottingham Forest in their last assignment but a second-half goal courtesy of Algeria international Riyad Mahrez condemned them to their sixth defeat of the campaign.
The defeat saw Chelsea drop to 10th position on the 20-team table with 25 points from 17 matches. The Blues have only managed six points from their last eight Premier League games.
Furious fans have taken to social media to express their anger after the latest defeat, with a section calling on the Blues to fire Potter, who left Brighton & Hove Albion to replace Thomas Tuchel, while others want Aubameyang's contract terminated and the number nine jersey retired.
Aubameyang has struggled since moving to Chelsea from Barcelona at the start of the season, managing nine league appearances and scoring one goal. He has started in four matches and came on as a substitute on five occasions.
