Goal takes a look at Kenyan stars who crossed to their neighbouring country to feature in the Mainland Premier League

    Kenneth Muguna

    After completing his Azam FC move, the 25-year-old midfielder became the latest Kenyan to join a Mainland Premier League side. The former Gor Mahia captain signed a two-year deal with the Ice-cream Makers.
  2. Joash Onyango

    Joash Onyango

    The Harambee Stars defender joined Simba in 2020 and has been a mainstay in the first team since then. Just like Muguna, he completed the move to the Tanzanian heavyweights from Gor Mahia.
  3. Farouk Shikhalo
    Yanga SC.

    Farouk Shikhalo

    The former Posta Rangers goalkeeper signed for Yanga SC from Bandari after the 2019 Afcon finals in Egypt. He has been the first choice goalkeeper since Metacha Mnata was relegated from the first team when he fell out with the club's hierarchy.

    George Owino

    The former Mathare United defender signed for Simba and stayed there between 2007 and 2008, where he played in 20 games and scored four goals. He also featured for Yanga, Simba's archrivals.
  5. Moses Odhiambo

    Moses Odhiambo

    The midfielder was signed by Simba in 2007 from Moro United and stayed at the club until 2009.

    In his maiden season with the Msimbazi side, he won the Mainland Premier League title before he left to join APR of Rwanda. Odhiambo also played for Simba’s rivals Yanga SC.

    The former AFC Leopards forward was at Yanga between 2009 and 2010 where he played in 24 games across competitions and scored 16 goals.
