- Has yet to play since free transfer
- Won't feature for Allegri until 2023
WHAT HAPPENED? The midfielder suffered a knee injury in pre-season but opted against surgery at the time. Pogba how now suffered a fresh setback and will miss the World Cup as a result.
WHAT THEY SAID: When asked in a press conference if he'd spoken to his player about the latest issue, Allegri replied: “Not yet. I spoke to him earlier. It’s pointless repeating what has already been said, once the decision was made not to have surgery at the start of the season, it was normal that hopes that he could return with Juventus and France were slim.
"He’s sorry for Juventus and the World Cup, it’s normal, we were penalised for not having him available.”
THE BIGGER PICTURE: Life has been dreadful for Juventus this season as they have been knocked out of the Champions League and sit seventh in Serie A. With no Pogba to help Allegri's cause, his frustration is somewhat understandable, although it may have been wise to keep his true feelings private.
