A draw isn't enough to lift Leeds out of the drop zone, but they do move above Leicester City into 18th. They have two games left to try and save their Premier League status, with the first of those against West Ham next week. Newcastle stay third with that draw, and they host Brighton and Hove Albion in midweek.

It was a game that had everything, as Leeds come from behind to snatch a 2-2 draw with Newcastle. The hosts took the lead just seven minutes in when Ayling fired in the rebound from Rodrigo's saved header. Two penalties then turned it on its head; Bamford saw his saved at one end, while Wilson fired in his own at the other end just over three minutes later. In the second half, Newcastle got their second penalty of the game, with Wilson firing that one into the roof of the net. Kristensen's deflected effort pulled Leeds level, but the Whites finished with 10 men as Firpo brought down Gordon in stoppage time.

90' + 7' SAVE! Schar heads the ball into the box, but it's nodded straight back down to him by Guimaraes. The defender decides to take the shot on the half-volley, but Robles watches it all the way and pushes it wide.

90' + 6' One last chance for Leeds to put the ball in the box as Forshaw swings it in. Burn clears, but only as far as Ayling, who sees his cross plucked out of the air by Pope. Forshaw then brilliantly stops Saint-Maximin's counter at the other end.

90' + 4' While Newcastle are pushing for a winner, a Leeds fans makes his way down the touchline to confront Howe and give him a shove. He's quickly led away by security and the hosts win a free-kick on the pitch.

90' + 1' FIRPO IS OFF! Schar plays another brilliant long ball over the top and Gordon is running onto it. Firpo gets tight to him, clumsily clipping his heels to take off his boot and give away a free-kick to the right of the D. Gordon was the last man, and it looks to be a straight red, despite the Spaniard having already been booked. Leeds have to play six added minutes with 10 men!

89' Robles is in no hurry to get the ball upfield after Leeds win a free-kick, but he needs to be careful having already been booked for time-wasting. He goes long, but Newcastle quickly get it back.

85' Newcastle have weathered Leeds' recent spell of pressure and they work it quickly down the right. Saint-Maximin lays it off to Isak in the box, but his low shot is held by Robles.

81' Leeds have belief that they can win this game now and Forshaw curls in a good free-kick from the left. Bamford rises highest in the middle of the crowd, but it comes off his shoulder and loops over.

79' KRISTENSEN EQUALISES! They win their first corner of the second half and it's very scruffy as two shots are blocked and Newcastle can't clear their lines. It bounces out to Kristensen on the edge of the box, who takes his time before volleying a shot just inside the near post, with a big deflection off Trippier completely catching out Pope. 2-2!

77' Leeds just can't get a touch on the ball at the moment as Newcastle patiently try to open them up. Trippier clips another cross into the box for Gordon, but he can't get a sight of goal.

75' OFFSIDE! Gordon slides it through to Isak, who looks to be in an offside position, but with no flag, he drives into the box. He unselfishly squares it to Saint-Maximin, who fires it past Robles before a very belated flag goes up.

74' Robles comes a long way out of his box to try and clear a long ball, but he misjudges is horribly. It bounces well in front of him, but Kristensen reacts quickly to dart onto it and clear it before Isak gets there.

Last time, he went low into the bottom corner, but this one is fired straight down the middle and into the roof of the net. 67' PENALTY TO NEWCASTLE! The replays show that the ball does graze Firpo's fingers as it loops towards Isak. The referee has a long look at it before pointing to the spot once more! Leeds are claiming the full-back was pushed, but it won't change the decision.

66' PENALTY? The cross comes in from the left for Newcastle this time and he's looking for Isak at the far post. He heads it wide and immediately shouts for a penalty for handball. Firpo's arm is over his head and VAR is having a look at this...

63' Harrison's cross is sent high into the air by Schar, and Bamford recycles it by squaring it to McKennie. He rushes the shot, hitting it first time and firing it high over the bar.

61' The resulting free-kick is floated into the box by Trippier and it's flicked on by Botman on the edge of the box. He picks out Isak, but the flag goes up against him.

59' Firpo pulled Almiron back before lunging into a challenge on Guimaraes. It could've been worse as he catches the Brazilian on his foot and not much higher. He's booked and VAR chooses not to upgrade it.

57' McKennie gets across to Guimaraes on the halfway line, but doesn't make any contact and the Brazilian goes to ground. He's shown the first yellow card of the game for diving.

56' BLOCK! Trippier swings another good corner into the box and picks out Schar at the far post. He thumps a header on goal, but Rodrigo is in the right place to clear it in front of the line.

54' Firpo is chasing the ball into the box, but this time, Trippier gets across to shield him off the ball. The Spaniard goes down softly, looking for another penalty, but it isn't given.

53' Newcastle are unbeaten in their last 17 Premier League matches when tied at half-time (W8 D9) and have won each of the last two, while Leeds have won just two of their last 16 (D6 L8), and have lost their last two.

51' OVER! Leeds just can't clear their lines and Guimaraes spins before driving to the edge of the box where he sends it towards Wilson. He hits the shot on the volley, but Kristensen does enogh to help it over the bar.

50' Leeds work it well down their right and it's a great cross into the box from Rodrigo. Bamford has it back to goal so tries to cushion it down for Koch, but plays it slightly behind it, and the chance goes to waste.

48' Newcastle win a free-kick down the right and Trippier whips a delightful cross towards the far post. Robles gets a fist to it but punches it up into the air, and Wilson heads it wide.

46' Newcastle get us back underway for the second half!

46' Leeds are making a change at the start of the second half. Greenwood goes off, with Forshaw on in his place.

Allardyce will be pleased with the start his side made to the game and will be trying to replicate that in the second half while shaking off the penalty disappointment. Newcastle took a long time to get a foothold but looked much better after getting the equaliser. They just need to keep that up after the break.

It's all square at the break, with Leeds and Newcastle drawing 1-1. The hosts made a great start to the game, with Ayling firing in the rebound from Rodrigo's saved header to give them the lead just seven minutes in. But, it's a story of two penalties within five minutes that changed the game. Bamford saw his saved by Pope at one end, only for Newcastle to win one that Wilson confidently nestled into the bottom corner to pull them level.

45' + 1' CLOSE! It's crowded on the edge of Leeds' box, with the hosts staying compact. Wilson manages to bundle it through to Almiron, who does have space on the right, but he whips his shot wide of the far post.

44' CHANCE! Wober goes direct this time, lifting it over the top for Bamford, who rounds Schar before squaring it to Greenwood on the edge of the box. He takes on the shot quickly, sending it swerving high over the bar.

43' Just before he's brought down, Guimaraes slides another good throughball into the box. Isak does enough to put Kristensen off and Wilson gives chase, but Robles rushes out to sweep it away.

41' Greenwood jinks away from Guimaraes before darting forward. He has Harrison ahead of him in support, but Joelinton recovers well to stop the pass and Newcastle come away with it.

39' Leeds have failed to convert two of their last three penalties in the Premier League (both Bamford), after scoring 18 in a row beforehand.

37' Greenwood's long ball forward is cut out by Schar, but the defender stumbles, allowing Harrison to latch onto it. He tries to tee up Rodrigo on the right of the box, but Burn steps in to clear the danger.

35' Guimaraes' throughball to Almiron is cut out by Wober, but McKennie is then too casual trying to get it upfield. He gifts it straight to Joelinton, and Leeds are under pressure once more.

33' Leeds look a bit out of sorts after the equaliser, and Newcastle are trying to take advantage. The visitors work it out to Trippier on the right once more, but McKennie gets to the cross in front of Wilson.

31' WILSON EQUALISES! He runs up to the spot with confidence and rifles his penalty straight into the bottom left corner. Robles does go the right way, but he can't stretch to reach it and Newcastle are level just three minutes after they could've been two goals down. 1-1!

30' PENALTY TO NEWCASTLE! Newcastle work it quickly upfield and it's slotted into the box for Isak. Firpo slips at the wrong moment, which allows the forward to get to the ball and Wober shoves him over, with the referee again pointing to the spot.

28' While the actual penalty was at a good height for Pope to make the save, he reacted brilliantly to get back up to stop Bamford from latching onto the rebound.

28' DOUBLE SAVE! Bamford steps up to take the spot-kick, but it's not the best penalty. It's at a comfortable height for Pope, who goes the right way, pushing it away. Bamford follows in, but the keeper reacts quickly to scramble it off his toe and out for a corner. Still 1-0!

27' PENALTY TO LEEDS! Greenwood gets away from two Newcastle defenders with some clever footwork before setting Firpo into the box. Joelinton tries to make up for it, clumsily crashing into the Spaniard from behind and the referee points straight to the spot.

25' Harrison's throughball is just too short for Rodrigo, and Burn just about gets it back to Pope when Bamford chases him down. The striker continues his run, forcing the keeper to slice his clearance straight out of play.

23' It's a lovely ball over the top from Schar to pick out Trippier's unmarked run down the right and he watches it all the way before drilling a first-time cross towards Wilson. Wober reads it well, sticking out a leg to take it off him.

21' Leeds are keeping their defensive shape brilliantly here and Newcastle are struggling to find their rhythm. It's fizzed into Isak on the edge of the box, and he drills a shot through the crowd, but it hits Wilson.

19' McKennie's long throw-in bounces off Koch's head, but Bamford reacts quickly to stop Burn from clearing it, and he knocks it back to the American to try and recycle it. Leeds instead win a free-kick that comes to nothing.

17' Leeds have won all four of their Premier League matches when starting the day in the relegation zone this season, compared to just three wins in their 31 when not in the bottom three (D9 L19).

15' It's a neatly worked move from Newcastle as it's switched out to the left by Isak. Willock slots it forward for Almiron on the overlapping run, and he gets it out of his feet before firing into the side netting.

13' Leeds are starting to give away a few needless free-kicks here and Trippier stands over the latest one through the middle after Wober tackles Wilson to the ground. It comes to nothing.

11' SAVE! Burn's throw-in is flicked into the near post for Wilson, who has Kristensen tight to his back. He turns the defender but can't get any power on the shot, and Robles holds onto it.

9' That goal seems to have calmed any of Leeds' nerves and they're looking comfortable in possession as they try to play it out from the back. Newcastle are staying compact and making it difficult for them to get into the box.

7' AYLING SCORES! Bamford and Harrison link up well down the left, with the striker surging away from Trippier to clip a good cross into the middle. Rodrigo rises highest to glance a header on and Pope gets down to push it away but only gets it as far as Ayling. He makes no mistake as he fires it into the top corner. 1-0 Leeds!

6' Wober's clearance ends up being a good ball forward for Harrison, who cushions it down for Bamford before continuing his run down the left. Leeds are trying to catch Newcastle out here.

4' Willock does manage to find some space now and he slides it forward for Isak to curl a cross into the box. Greenwood slices at his clearance, sending it to Joelinton, but he fires his long-range shot high into the stands.

2' Leeds are pressing high and trying to prevent Newcastle from making their usual fast start to games. Koch slides in to stop Guimaraes from getting it forward and the hosts get it away.

Allardyce has won more Premier League games against Newcastle than against any other side (13). He's won his first home Premier League game in charge of five of his previous clubs (D1 L2), one of which was a 3-0 win over Newcastle in October 2015 with Sunderland.

There's just one change by Eddie Howe from their defeat to Arsenal last weekend. Almiron joins Wilson and Isak up front, while Murphy starts on the bench. Pope makes his 250th league appearance in the top four divisions of English football.

Allardyce makes three changes to the side that lost to City last Saturday. Koch, Rodrigo and Greenwood all come in, with Roca, Forshaw and Gnonto dropping to the bench. Ayling makes his 250th appearance for Leeds, while Bamford plays his 100th game in the Premier League.
