Commentary

Thanks for joining our commentary this afternoon. Until next time, goodbye.
Everton face another huge clash against Leicester in their next Premier League outing on April 20th at home. United are next in action against Norwich at Old Trafford next week.
Everton secure a result in their battle to remain in the Premier League by beating Manchester United 1-0 at Goodison Park. Anthony Gordon scored the only goal of the game in the first half with an effort that deflected off Harry Maguire to find the back of the net. The Toffees were resilient at the back throughout the contest to secure the victory, which pushes them four points clear of the relegation zone. United suffer a damaging loss in their bid to finish in the top four, which appears to be slipping away from them by the week.

Anthony Gordon has handed Everton a 1-0 lead at the break over Manchester United in their Premier League clash. Gordon latched on to a loose ball on the edge of the box and found the net courtesy of a deflection off Harry Maguire. 6' Telles and Rashford combine down the left flank, but the full-back overruns the ball out of a play for a goal-kick amid pressure from Allan.

1' We're under way at Goodison Park.
Everton have won just one of their last 13 Premier League meetings with Manchester United (D6 L6), beating them 4-0 in April 2019 under Marco Silva.
There are six change to the United line-up from their 1-1 draw against Leicester last time out. Wan-Bissaka, Lindelof and Telles get the nod to start in the back four. Matic gets the nod in the middle of the park alongside Fred, while Rashford and Ronaldo return to action in the final third. Elanga and Pogba drop to the bench, while Raphael Varane, Luke Shaw, Diogo Dalot and Scott McTominay are all out.
Lampard has made four changes to his side from their defeat at the hands of Burnley. Coleman, Keane, Fabian Delph and Allan all slot into the team to replace Kenny, Holgate, Branthwaite and Doucoure, all of whom drop to the bench.
MANCHESTER UNITED SUBS: Phil Jones, Paul Pogba, Juan Mata, Jesse Lingard, Diogo Dalot, Tom Heaton, Dean Henderson, Anthony Elanga, Hannibal Mejbri.
MANCHESTER UNITED (4-2-3-1): David de Gea; Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Victor Lindelof, Harry Maguire, Alex Telles; Nemanja Matic, Fred; Marcus Rashford, Bruno Fernandes, Jadon Sancho; Cristiano Ronaldo.

Manchester United also come into the contest under pressure after playing out a 1-1 draw against Leicester in their last Premier League outing. Ralf Rangnick and his team are in danger of falling off the pace of Arsenal and Tottenham in the battle to finish in the top four. They start the afternoon three points behind both teams, placing the emphasis on earning all three points at Goodison Park.
Everton are in dire need of a victory this afternoon to stem the tide in their battle against relegation from the Premier League. Frank Lampard's men are one point above the relegation zone with nine matches to play after suffering a 3-2 defeat at the hands of Burnely in midweek. Two penalties from Richarlison had put the Toffees in front at Turf Moor, but strikes from Jay Rodriguez and Maxwel Cornet condemned them to their 10th defeat in their last 12 Premier League matches. The pressure is on the Toffees and Lampard.
Hello and welcome to the live commentary of the Premier League clash between Everton and Manchester United at Goodison Park.
