Atletico can secure at least third place in LaLiga when they host Sevilla on Sunday. Meanwhile, Elche travel to Celta Vigo.
Atletico Madrid secure Champions League football next season following a 2-0 victory over Elche. Matheus Cunha and Rodrigo de Paul were on target as Diego Simeone celebrated his 400th LaLiga match in charge of Los Rojiblancos in the best way possible. Despite defeat, Elche can also celebrate with their top-flight status ensured for another season following Mallorca's draw with Sevilla.
90' + 4' FULL-TIME: ELCHE 0-2 ATLETICO MADRID
G. Kondogbia
Yellow Card
Atlético Madrid
90' + 3' Kondogbia is booked for a foul on Palacios.
90' + 2' OFFSIDE! Suarez looks to have made it 3-0 as he tucks away a rebound. However, his joy is cut short by the offside flag.
90' + 1' We are going to have two additional minutes at the end of this game.
89' OFF THE BAR! Atletico look to finish with a flourish and the substitutes almost combine to deadly effect. Suarez neatly picks out Correa, whose fierce shot crashes against the woodwork with Badia beaten.
87' Although they will have been disappointed not to launch a strong LaLiga title defence, Atletico will be pleased with the way their season has ended - especially given the poor start that they made.
84' Atletico will leapfrog Sevilla and go third in LaLiga should they hold onto this lead, which is looking increasingly likely as the clock ticks down.
82' The hosts push still, but to no avail. Perez tries an ambitious effort from distance, but it is always rising.
L. Suárez
Matheus Cunha
Atlético Madrid
80' Cunha also makes way to be replaced by Suarez for the final 10 minutes.
Felipe
Y. Carrasco
Atlético Madrid
79' Carrasco is given a rest as he makes way for Felipe.
77' Barring an Elche comeback, this would be Atletico's 10th successive victory in this fixture. As things stand, it would also be a seventh clean sheet in eight.
Raúl Guti
Omar Mascarell
Elche
75' The hosts turn to the bench once more Guti replacing Mascarell.
74' Elche continuing to search for a route back into this contest, but they will do well to breach this stubborn Atletico defence.
Á. Correa
R. De Paul
Atlético Madrid
72' Correa also enters the action in place of De Paul.
H. Herrera
A. Griezmann
Atlético Madrid
72' A double-change for the visitors. The first sees Herrera replace Griezmann.
71' With a two-goal cushion, Atletico are now looking to be resolute and protect that lead as their stubborn defensive approach takes shape.
J. Pastore
Pere Milla
Elche
69' Another change for the hosts with Pastore entering in place of Milla.
67' Elche look to respond and space opens for Gumbau to strike from distance. He catches the ball sweetly, but it is always rising.
66' That second goal will settle Atletico back down. The visitors have breathing space heading into the final quarter of this game.
64' Griezmann's unselfishness there was all the more remarkable given he is seeking a first goal in 13 LaLiga appearances. It is his longest drought in the Spanish top-flight since January 2012 (16 games).
A. Griezmann
Assist
Atlético Madrid
62' Griezmann demonstrated what a team player he is by handing that opportunity to De Paul when so many would have gone for goal themselves in that position.
R. De Paul
Goal
Atlético Madrid
62' DE PAUL!!! 2-0 ATLETICO! Breathing space for the visitors. Following a lovely move, Griezmann gets in behind. The France international unselfishly squares the ball for De Paul, who applies the finishing touch.
60' Atletico still a goal to the good as we hit the hour mark. Remember, they will book their place in the Champions League with victory here.
Kike Pérez
Fidel
Elche
58' Elche also make a change with Perez replacing Fidel.
Josan Ferrández
Tete Morente
Elche
58' Morente also makes way to be replaced by Josan.
G. Carrillo
L. Boyé
Elche
58' After a generally quiet game, Boye is withdrawn to be replaced by Carrillo.
56' Elche have lost their last four home league games against Atletico, while failing to score in each of the most recent three. Can they address that today?
54' Atletico deal with the corner, but have been a little sloppy in possession since the restart. Simeone will be wary of that as he watches on from the sidelines.
52' A good opportunity for the hosts, who are awarded a corner after Mascarell's attempted pass is deflected behind. Can they capitalise?
50' Elche are officially safe after Mallorca were held to a goalless draw by Sevilla. Francisco's side are six points clear of 18th-placed Mallorca, against whom they prevail on the head-to-head record.
48' Good defending! Cunha meets Lodi's cross at the near post and flicks the ball over the advancing Badia. It looks like it will drop in, but Bigas reacts quickly to head it away.
46' Atletico get the ball rolling again in the second half.
Elche have carried a decent attacking threat, but are yet to register their first shot on target. That is something they must address to have any chance of not leaving empty-handed.
Atletico Madrid lead Elche by a goal to nil at the break, with Matheus Cunha's strike separating the sides. As things stand, Diego Simeone's side would leapfrog Sevilla into third place in LaLiga.
45' + 1' HALF-TIME: ELCHE 0-1 ATLETICO MADRID
44' Renowned for sitting back and protecting their leads, Atletico have not done that today. The visitors have enjoyed 57 per cent of possession and continue to press in search of more goals.
42' De Paul gets in behind the Elche defence and races through on goal, but Badia stands firm to deny him. Although, the midfielder's blushes are spared when the offside flag is eventually raised.
Bigas
Yellow Card
Elche
40' Bigas goes into the book for a foul on Cunha. He will miss Elche's next match.
38' Elche sends players into the box to await Fidel's free-kick from the right. The skipper sends in a deep delivery, but it goes straight into the arms of Oblak.
36' Atletico look to double their lead and a corner is taken short to Carrasco, who sends his cross into the box. However, it is overhit and goes behind for a goal kick.
Renan Lodi
Yellow Card
Atlético Madrid
35' Lodi goes into the book for a rash challenge on Palacios.
33' Atletico look to counter at the other end. De Paul seeks out Carrasco at the far post, but the latter cannot keep his first-time effort down from a tight angle.
32' To their credit, Elche do not appear too disheartened since falling behind. The hosts have enjoyed plenty of possession as they look to quickly respond.
30' Atletico had failed to score in their last two away league games, but the drought is over courtesy of a lovely move that culminated in Cunha applying the finishing touch.
Renan Lodi
Assist
Atlético Madrid
28' Lodi put the ball on a plate for Cunha to tuck away.
Matheus Cunha
Goal

27' The visitors send a free-kick into the Elche penalty area from the right. However, the hosts are equal to the delivery and clear the danger.
25' It is worth noting that Atletico have lost their last two away games in LaLiga. They have not lost three such matches on the spin since May 2005.
23' Space opens for Cunha, who cannot resist trying his luck from well over 30 yards out. His effort is on target, but easily gathered by the goalkeeper.
21' Elche are seeking their first win over Atletico for 20 years here. Indeed, you must go back to a 5-1 victory in March 2002 for their most recent triumph.
19' The hosts threaten and Bigas gets his head on a corner at the near post, but the defender cannot steer the ball towards the target.
18' Elche fans will also have an eye on the ongoing clash between Sevilla and Mallorca today. Indeed, should the latter fail to win that game, Elche will be safe. It is currently goalless.
17' Following a patient build-up from Atletico, Carrasco's cross is only cleared as far as Kondogbia. The midfielder unleashes a fierce strike, but it is well wide of the target.
14' Good challenge! At the other end, Elche almost get in behind the Atletico defence. The ball almost falls for Mojica, but Reinildo times his sliding challenge to perfection to deny him.
12' Not far away! The ball breaks kindly for Cunha to strike just inside the Elche box. There is plenty of venom in his effort, which flashes not too far over the crossbar.
11' Atletico take the sting out of the game as they take the opportunity to maintain possession at a steady pace inside their own half.
9' Elche have been solid on home territory in recent times; only failing to score once in their last eight here.

7' Milla receives the first yellow card of the game after catching Kondogbia late. He will now miss Elche's next match as a result.

1' Referee Gonzalez Fuertes blows his whistle and Elche get us under way.
The teams are coming out onto the pitch and kick-off is fast approaching.
Today sees Simeone take charge of Atletico for the 400th time in LaLiga. He is only the third manager to reach this tally with the same team in the Spanish top-flight after Miguel Munoz and Luis Aragones.

De Paul replaces the suspended Marcos Llorente on the right side of midfield, while Griezmann is preferred to Correa up front. Mario Hermoso returns from suspension on the bench, while Thomas Lemar and Joao Felix are out for the rest of the season with injury.

Roco, Mojica, Morente, Fidel and Boye all come into the starting XI; Barragan, Guti, Josan, Perez and Carrillo all drop to the bench.
