That is all for today - thanks for tuning in!
With that win Everton move out of the relegation zone but face a tricky task next up as they welcome Premier League leaders Manchester City to Goodison Park on Sunday. Brighton will travel to second-place Arsenal as they look to bounce back from this defeat.
Everton move out of the relegation zone after a counter-attacking masterclass saw them dismantle Brighton on their way to a 5-1 away victory. Dyche's side had only one victory on the road all campaign but found themselves ahead after just 34 seconds when Doucoure swept home Calvert-Lewin's cross. The midfielder added another before Steele's own goal left Brighton 3-0 down at half-time. Brighton continued to press forward after half-time but McNeil would add a fourth on the break with a superb solo effort. Mac Allister scored as Brighton finally breached Everton's net after several superb saves from Pickford but the away side weren't done as McNeil added a fifth with a superb left-footed strike in the final minute of added time.
A. Onana
90' + 6' Onana with a great assist through the heart of the Brighton defence to play in McNeil to score.
D. McNeil
90' + 6' GOOOOALLLL!! MCNEIL AT THE DOUBLE!! 5-1! What a finish from McNeil and Everton have five! As he's done all game it's a fantastic burst down the left into the box. He has Iwobi in the box but instead goes on the outside of Gross before rifling in an emphatic strike into the near post. What a performance from the Everton winger.
90' + 5' The home fans head for an early exit with this game all but done. A hugely disappointing night for them especially with the results that occurred earlier in the weekend.
90' + 3' Colwill nor Mitoma can control the cross from another Brighton corner and the Everton fans cheers as it heads out for a goal kick.
90' Caicedo blazes over from the edge of the box as we enter the first of six added minutes in this second half.
88' SAVE!! This game could have been an awful lot closer had Pickford not pulled off numerous wonderful saves and he's at it again with a great stop down low to deny Ferguson on the spin.
N. Maupay
D. Calvert-Lewin
87' Calvert-Lewin was fantastic in that first off and he now makes way for Maupay up front.
A. Onana
I. Gueye
87' Everton turn to their bench with a double change. Gueye makes way for Onana in central midfield.
83' CLOSE! The cross comes in and it's a beautifully-struck volley from Mitoma. It's heading towards the goal but it strikes Colwill who can do nothing to turn it on target and it flies off the centre-back and out for a goal kick.
81' Caicedo effort from the edge of the box deflects wide and Brighton have another corner.
A. Mac Allister
79' GOOOOAAALLL!! BRIGHTON HAVE ONE BACK!! A flukey goal from Mac Allister and Brighton finally have a goal. The ball comes in from the right and the Argentine can't connect with at first and he falls to the ground. Mitoma, behind him, does get an effort on goal and it strikes the post before bouncing in off Mac Allister. He knew nothing about it and with just over ten minutes left it may well just be a consolation.
B. Gilmour
S. March
78' March pulled up with a hamstring injury in the build-up to that Everton goal and he has to come off. Gilmour replaces him.
A. Onana
Yellow Card
77' Onana, who is not on the pitch, is shown a yellow card for his excessive celebration of Everton's fourth goal.
A. Iwobi
76' Iwobi had time to pick his pass and he slide through McNeil who did the rest with a beautiful solo effort.
D. McNeil
76' GOOOOAALLLL!!! EVERTON HAVE FOUR!! 4-0! McNeil with a lovely finish on the break and Everton have another. They've hardly been in the Brighton half at all since the break but they make the most of it on this occasion. Iwobi slides through McNeil into the box and it is a wonderful solo effort from the winger who jinks past Dunk and Steele before rolling the ball into an empty net. An absolute masterclass in counter-attacking football from Dyche's side.
75' SAVE!! Brighton are creating plenty of chances but Pickford pulls off another superb save to keep them at bay. Mac Allister connects with the cross but Pickford makes an acrobatic save once more to deny his header.
74' A rare foray into the Brighton half for Everton results in a free-kick. Tarkowski rises well to get a header on target but it doesn't have the power to trouble Steele who makes a comfortable save.
72' Gross cuts a frustrated figure as he is unable to get onto March's reverse ball into the Everton box. The away side defending well as things stand.
70' With 25 minutes gone in this second half, Everton are yet to have a shot on goal.
68' Gross stands up a ball into the box with a cute cross but Mina rises highest to head away the danger.
66' OFF THE BAR!! Brighton come so close to their opener as they hit the woodwork twice within the space of seconds! Ferguson dances through the Everton defence before Pickford tips his effort onto the bar. From the corner, it is Mac Allister with the flick from the near post but that also cannons off the upright and Everton can clear.
64' March has been lively since his introduction after the break but it's more dogged defending - this time from Mina - to block his shot as he cuts in and takes aim from the right.
63' Calvert-Lewin is the only Everton player with an average position inside the Brighton half as the away side remain camped in their half defending this three-goal lead.
61' Brighton attack with another two corners but the Everton defence holds firm once again to clear them both away.
59' Gross is the man who delivers the resulting corner as well which Everton deal with initially. The play is recycled and Pickford has to be at his best with a superb dive low down to his right to palm away Ferguson's header. The offside flag goes up straight away so it may not have counted anyway.
58' Brighton win a free-kick by the right corner flag. Gross delivers and Mykolenko deflects it bending for a corner.
A. Doucouré
Yellow Card
56' Doucoure is shown a yellow after he complains to the referee about a Brighton free-kick.
54' Brighton continue to press and probe but they fall short again. Encison tries to slip in Ferguson but the young Irish forward fouls Mykolenko as he looks to get on the ball inside the box. Well-defended by the Everton full-back.
51' McNeil turns behind Gross' cross but the home side waste their corner effort having taken it quickly
50' Everton have had just 29% possession in these first five minutes as they look to fight off this Brighton response in the second half.
48' SAVE!! The home crowd roars on their side as March stings the palms of Pickford with a left-footed shot as the ball breaks his way after Ferguson's shot is initially blocked.
47' March is immediately into the action as he gets the better of Mykolenko before his cross is caught by Pickford.
46' With those changes made, we are underway in the second half.
S. March
F. Buonanotte
46' Buonanotte also comes off with March coming on in his place out on the right wing.
J. Enciso
D. Undav
46' Enciso is introduced with Undav making way in the forward line.
E. Ferguson
D. Welbeck
46' Welbeck also comes off with Ferguson replacing him.
L. Colwill
A. Webster
46' As expected, De Zerbi rings the changes with a quadruple change at the break. Webster is replaced by Colwill in central defence.
Everton are the lowest scorers in the league but you wouldn't know it after watching that first half. Dyche set his side up perfectly and they have been ruthless on the break against an out-of-sorts Brighton side. De Zerbi will no doubt ring the changes at half-time after that abject first 45 minutes from his side who will need a miracle if they are to get something from this game now.
A clinical first-half display means Everton take a surprise 3-0 lead into the break at Brighton. The Toffees took just 34 seconds to open the scoring as Doucoure turned home Calvert-Lewin's cross and the Everton midfielder would double his side's tally in the 29th minute with a superb first-time volley after a lung-busting run from McNeil. McNeil would be involved again just six minutes later as his low cross was turned into the net by Steele to give Everton their third in front of a shell-shocked home crowd.
45' + 3' SAVE!! Everton should have a fourth on the stroke of half-time. It's again down the left where Everton create the opening. McNeil's cross is met by Garner but a combination of Dunk and Steele are able to block his strike from inside the box.
D. Calvert-Lewin
Yellow Card
45' + 3' Calvert-Lewin stretches for a loose ball but catches Mac Allister and is shown a yellow card.
45' + 2' Brighton fans continue to urge on their players as we enter the second of three first-half added minutes.
45' Everton clear away yet another low ball into their box before Doucoure wins a foul as Caicedo hauls down the Everton goalscorer as he looks to break once again.
43' Patterson has struggled up against Mitoma so far this half but the Scottish full-back does well this time to intercept a pass looking for the winger. Everton defend the corner and play resumes after a brief VAR check looking for a foul in the box.
41' Brighton finding it hard to get past this stern Everton defence as they look to maintain their lead before the break.
38' Another driving run from McNeil and he's inches away from finding Calvert-Lewin in all kinds of space. Brighton are being cut open at will so far this half.
37' Everton have won one away game all season prior to his game. They now have three after 35 minutes away at the seventh-best side in the League.
J. Steele
Own Goal
35' GOOOOOAAALLLL!!! OWN GOAL!! 3-0!! Steele deflects the ball into his own net and I'm not sure any of the Everton fans in that away stand can believe what they are seeing. Doucoure does well to recover an overhit pass from Iwobi before feeding McNeil. The Everton winger fires in a low cross and Steele gets it all wrong as it bounces off his right leg and into his own net.
34' Tarkowski is the man in the right place again as he makes the vital interception to prevent Welbeck from getting on the end of Mitoma's cross.
32' Brighton continue to come forward but another corner is cleared away, this time by Tarkowski.
D. McNeil
29' McNeil with a great drive up the pitch and superb poise to pick out Doucoure at the back post who makes no mistake with his finish.
A. Doucouré
29' GOOAAAAALLL!!! EVERTON DOUBLE THEIR LEAD!! 2-0!! Everton have looked dangerous on the break all game and Brighton play into their hands once again and it's Doucoure with a wonderful finish and his second of the game. McNeil drives all the way up the pitch after Everton overturn possession before getting his head up and spotting Doucoure in the box. It's an inch-perfect cross into the box and a wonderful first-time volley finish into the net from the Everton midfielder - Steele with no chance.
28' Everton are winless in their last 18 Premier League away games against sides in the top half of the table (D7 L11), though their last such victory was at fourth-placed Brighton in August 2021 (2-0).
26' BLOCK!! Everton threaten again as they come forward. Iwobi does well to keep hold of the ball down the right and they work it well to the byline through Garner. Doucoure cuts it back to McNeil but Webster gets the vital block as the Everton winger looks to strike on goal with his left.
I. Gueye
Yellow Card
25' Gueye's shot from the corner is blocked and he then hauls down Mitoma as the Brighton winger looks to break up the pitch with the loose ball.
24' Everton win the ball back again and this time McNeil drives into the box before his shot is deflected behind by Webster
23' Brighton are still without a shot on target in this game as we reach the halfway point in this first half.
L. Dunk
Yellow Card
21' Calvert-Lewin has won his battle against Dunk so far this game and the Brighton centre-back is now in the book after he brings down the Everton striker.
20' Gross and Estpuninan combine from a free-kick but the eventual cross from the full-back is misdirected and sails out for a goal kick.
Y. Mina
Yellow Card
18' Mina takes too long over an Everton free-kick and is shown a yellow card for timewasting.
16' Brighton make a real hash out of playing out of the back and Everton win the ball back high up the pitch. The loose ball ends up at the feet of Calvert-Lewin who jinks back onto his left before dragging a low effort wide of the post.
14' Mitoma gets the better of Patterson down the left and pulls it back to Mac Allister but his right-footed effort is blocked inside the box. Up the other end, a rare Everton attack ends when Mykolenko's low cross is gathered by Steele with Doucoure looking to pounce again.
13' Gross fires a low cross into the box from the right looking for Undav at the far post but Everton have enough men back and can clear it away.
11' Mina gets a telling-off after the Colombian centre-back fouls Undav.
9' Brighton have had 90% possession in these opening nine minutes. Everton with the all-important goal, though.
7' Everton have had their backs to the wall since going ahead but they do well to head away another inswinging cross from Mitoma.
6' A long ball from Everton nearly catches Dunk out again but the Brighton captain recovers this time and wins his duel against Calvert-Lewin.
4' Brighton get on the attack straight after conceding but Estupinan's cross is cleared away. Mitoma produces another one from the left moments later but Welbeck can't direct it on target.
D. Calvert-Lewin
1' Great work from Calvert-Lewin down the channel as he squares it across to Doucoure who makes no mistake.
A. Doucouré
1' GOAAAL!!!! EVERTON AHEAD!! 1-0!! 34 seconds and the away side lead and it's Doucoure with the goal. Brighton give the ball away on their left and Everton can break. Dunk attempts to intercept a pass into Calvert-Lewin but gets it all wrong and the Everton forward strides into the box. From there, it's a simple pass across the box with Doucoure on hand to sweep home. What a start!
1' Brighton get us underway in this first half.
Following their 4-1 win at Goodison Park in January, Brighton are looking to complete their first ever league double over Everton.
Dyche also makes two changes to his Everton side following their 2-2 draw with Leicester. Patterson and Mina come in to replace Coleman, who misses out with injury, and Keane who drops to the bench.
Roberto De Zerbi makes two changes from Brighton's 1-0 victory against Manchester United. Gross and Undav come in with Gilmour and Enciso making way.
EVERTON SUBS: Tom Davies, Mason Holgate, Ellis Simms, Asmir Begovic, Conor Coady, Amadou Onana, Michael Keane, Neal Maupay, Demarai Gray.
EVERTON (4-3-2-1): Jordan Pickford; Nathan Patterson, Yerry Mina, James Tarkowski, Vitalii Mykolenko; James Garner, Idrissa Gueye; Alex Iwobi, Abdoulaye Doucoure; Dwight McNeil, Dominic Calvert-Lewin.
BRIGHTON SUBS: Billy Gilmour, Solly March, Yasin Ayari, Levi Colwill, Robert Sanchez, Evan Ferguson, Andrew Moranm, Julio Enciso, Jan-Paul van Hecke.
BRIGHTON (4-3-2-1): Jason Steele; Moises Caicedo, Adam Webster, Lewis Dunk, Pervis Estupinan; Pascal Gross, Alexis Mac Allister; Facundo Buonanotte, Deniz Undav, Kaoru Mitoma; Danny Welbeck.
Everton, meanwhile, have no such lofty ambitions and instead find themselves deep in the relegation battle. Sean Dyche's side rescued a 2-2 draw against Leicester last weekend but remain in 19th place with no wins in their last seven games. Leicester's early defeat on Monday against Fulham and Leeds United's loss against Manchester City on Saturday does, however, mean that with an away win, the Toffees could move out of the bottom three and into 16th.
Brighton's fairytale season continues and West Ham's victory against Manchester United on Sunday may well have their fans dreaming of an unlikely late push for the top four. Buoyed after their dramatic last-minute win against Manchester United in midweek, a win against relegation-threatened Everton would move them into six and five points of fourth with a game in hand.
Hello and welcome to this live commentary for the Premier League fixture between Brighton and Everton from The Amex Stadium.
