‘Benni doing wonders for Rashford’ – Fans credit McCarthy with Manchester United forward’s top form

With the England international enjoying an impressive run in front of goal, fans have associated it with the South African’s impact

Fans have credited Marcus Rashford’s top goal-scoring form to Bafana Bafana legend Benni McCarthy.

The forward has been in phenomenal form and scored in his eighth consecutive home game on Tuesday evening against Charlton in the Carabao Cup.

This resurgence contradicts how Rashford performed under previous manager Ralf Rangnick, when he scored four goals in 25 league appearances.

McCarthy, who was incorporated into Erik ten Hag’s technical team this season, is directly working with Rashford and other strikers. Consequently, the former Orlando Pirates forward has been credited with the English international's impressive run.

Some see McCarthy’s hand in Rashford’s resurgence, while others claim that he is not responsible for it.
