Palace were struggling when Hodgson arrived as manager but are now on 43 points in the Premier League. Next up, they travel to Fulham. As for Bournemouth, they will be looking to recover from a poor showing, with the Cherries winning run away from home coming to an end. They host Manchester United in their upcoming match.

Eze scored twice to help Palace secure a comfortable victory over Bournemouth. Palace were dominating the game but could have gone down to 10 men. Andersen flicked his fist into the face of Lerma, but VAR decided it was not enough for a red card. The hosts continued to control the proceedings and broke the deadlock with a brilliant goal. Zaha twisted past two defenders after receiving the ball from Ayew, with the winger lashing a low cross into the box. Ayew was there and flicked it into the path of Eze, who powered his effort past Neto. Zaha then curled an effort just wide of the post before the break. Eze then scored a sublime second to put the result beyond any doubt. Countering from a Bournemouth corner, Olise switched the play from right to left to the former QPR man. Eze then cut inside towards the edge of the box before blasting his effort into the top corner. The Cherries were absent in the attack throughout the game, with none of their five shots on target.

Olise has possession on the right on the halfway line and drills a pass across the pitch to Eze. He moves inside from the left past Lerma and into the middle of the pitch before curling an effort into the top corner.

55' Edouard looks to get involved for the first time since coming on and races forward into the box to get on the end of a pass from Andersen. Neto reads it and claims just inside his area.

55' Olise has caused the Bournemouth defence a lot of problems. This time he accelerates down the right flank before delivering a low cross into the box that is cleared by Mepham. It was an important interception from the centre-back as Ayew was behind him waiting for an easy finish.

53' OVER! Guehi switches the play from right to left to Olise. The winger takes a brilliant touch and dribbles inside before curling a shot well over.

51' Palace are forced into their first change. Zaha is injured and is replaced in the attack with Edouard coming on. Zaha is walking off but looks disappointed.

49' The injury to Zaha looked to have come when he was running at Zabarnyi before giving away a free-kick. He tried to continue before going down.

48' Zaha plays a one-two with Hughes before going down with nobody around him. He grabs the back of his right leg and the game stops. This could be a huge blow for the home side.

47' SAVE! A superb save from Neto to keep Bournemouth in the game. The ball bounces out to Hughes on the edge of the box, with the former Derby County man lashing a volley towards the top corner. His effort goes through a number of bodies, but the goalkeeper watches it all the way and pushes it away.

Zaha was nullified for most of the game before having a vital part in Palace's opening goal, but Bouremouth's focus on him has allowed spaces to open on the other side of the pitch. Olise was excellent before the break and was giving Vina a difficult time, going on the inside and outside and delivering crosses into the box. Gary O'Neil should look to replicate this with Ouattara after the break. The Burkina Faso international has been excellent since joining in January but has had just 23 touches of the ball and has not been able to get involved in the game.

Eze ended a superb passing move to break the deadlock and give Palace the lead at half-time. The hosts were patient outside the box, with Ayew releasing Zaha down the left side. The winger was up against a couple of defenders but twisted past them before delivering a low cross into the middle that was flicked to Eze by Olise, who powered in his effort from the middle of the box. It was the only shot on target of the first 45 minutes. Solanke, Ouattara, Olise and Doucoure all had shots blocked, with Zaha flashing an effort just wide of the post. VAR got involved when the game was goalless after Andersen's fist connected with Lerma's face, but no further action was taken.

45' + 3' Andersen drives a powerful pass into the chest of Zaha, with his touch forcing him out to the left. The 30-year-old looks to get past Kelly and does down under the challenge of the defender, but no free-kick is given.

44' Olise has been dangerous on the right and shows it again, flashing a cross from the right across the box. Nobody in a Palace shirt attacks it but Lerma is forced to clear it behind for a corner.

42' Andersen launches the ball out of the defence to Zaha with the winger bursting down the left flank. He cuts inside and unleashes a powerful curling effort that goes just past the far post.

40' Palace have avoided defeat in their last four matches when scoring the opening goal in the Premier League dating back to 1st October 2022 against Chelsea (L1-2).

39' Ayew is an unselfish striker and shows it with a smart flick. He has the chance to shoot after Zaha finds him with a cross, but he decides to find Eze behind him. The former QPR man was free in the middle and converts the chance.

39' GOALLL! EZE SCORES! 1-0 PALACE! That's a wonderful Palace goal. Zaha, Hughes and Ayew combine with the striker sending a pass back to Zaha. The winger is on the left of the box and spins past a couple of defenders before lashing a low cross into the box. Ayew is there and flicks it to Eze who crashes it past Neto from close range.

37' Ayew holds onto the ball and wins a free-kick after being fouled by Mepham. Eze delivers the free-kick into the box towards Guehi who flicks it on. Bournemouth get it away to Hughes, with the midfielder finding Olise who has a shot blocked from the edge of the box.

35' Bournemouth have not had a lot of chances in Palace's defensive third. Ouattara looks to score with an ambitious strike from distance but Hughes makes the block.

33' After keeping a clean sheet in their first Premier League meeting with Palace (0-0 in December 2015), Bournemouth have conceded in each of their last 10 against the Eagles. They have been defending for most of the game.

31' VAR CHECK! Lerma is down in the box and VAR are getting involved. Olise curls a corner into the box and the fist of Andersen connects with Lerma's head. After a short check, the game continues.

30' Guéhi gets onto the end of a corner from Olise and heads the ball back across the box. Bournemouth get it away but only as far as Doucoure. He drives a shot towards the goal from the edge of the box, with Christie sliding across to make the block.

28' Eze swings a dangerous corner into the box that Neto punches behind. Olise curls a cross in from the other side, but Kelly gets it behind.

26' MISS! Olise went on the outside of Vina last time but decides to cut onto his left foot before curling a cross to the back of the box with Zaha making the run. Palace's star is free and swings a boot at the ball, but completely misses it. He was three yards out and will be disappointed that he could not get a shot away.

25' Olise runs at Vina again, bursting past the Roma loanee before drilling a low cross into the box. Kelly gets it away but Bournemouth fail to get it away. Ward finds Ayew in the box, but the striker heads wide.

23' Doucoure lays a pass into the feet of Olise who has a cross cleared away by Kelly. Ward gets it back and spins past a defender before giving possession to Olise, but his second ball into the box is caught by Neto.

20' There have been a couple of sloppy passes in the opening 20 minutes, with Palace and Bournemouth having one shot each. The crowd has been bouncing but there has been a lack of energy on the pitch. Both teams are safe in the Premier League and it is showing with a lack of intensity.

18' Solanke does well inside the Palace box, playing a quick one-two before receiving the ball in the middle of the box. He looks to shoot low past Johnstone, but his attempt is tame and Hughes makes the block.

17' Palace lost 3-0 at home to Fulham in December – they've not lost consecutive home league games against promoted sides since February 2016, though one of those defeats was against Bournemouth. The away side have had a corner but have not put together a dangerous attacking move.

15' Zaha has possession on the halfway line and sends a pass down the right towards Olise. He drives towards the box and cuts inside past Kelly before curling his effort wide of the far post.

14' Palace fail to make another corner count, losing possession from a short corner. They get it back on the right side with Olise, but he takes a heavy touch before sending a pass to Zaha out for a goal-kick.

13' Olise receives possession and has a chance to run at Vina. The former Reading man steps over the ball before pushing it past him and towards the byline, but the left-back recovers and slides it behind for a corner.

11' Eze has a free-kick on the left and curls a looping cross into the middle of the box. Andersen gets on the end of it before Solanke and heads his effort just wide of the post. The flag then goes up for offside.

10' Palace waste an opportunity from a corner. Eze plays a short corner to Zaha. The winger holds the ball before looking to play a pass out to Hughes, but Christie reads the danger and makes an interception.

8' Palace have struggled to defend against corners and let Solanke have a free header in the middle of their box. The striker connects with Christie's corner from the right, but his header is blocked.

7' Lerma slides a throughball down the right side of the box with Solanke rushing forward. He is up against Andersen who pokes it behind for a throw-in.

6' Vina crashes into the back of Eze and the Palace man goes down in a heap. After a minute on the floor, he is back on his feet.

4' Eze brushes off the challenge of Christie and feeds a pass to Olise on the right before rushing towards the byline. The Frenchman tries to complete the one-two, but puts too much power on the pass and Bournemouth have possession.

Having won just one of their first seven Premier League meetings with Bournemouth (drawing four, losing two), Palace have now won each of their last four against them.

As for Bournemouth, O’Neil makes two alterations to the side that lost to Chelsea in their previous match. There is a new partnership at centre-back, with Mepham and Zabarnyi starting in the middle of the defence. Kelly moves out to right back, leaving Senesi and Smith on the bench. Moore is back in the squad.

Palace make just one change to the team that lost against Tottenham in their last outing. Jeffrey Schlupp misses out through injury and is replaced in the midfield by Hughes.

Questions were asked of Bournemouth manager Gary O’Neil when his side dropped to the bottom of the table after a 3-2 loss against Arsenal at the start of March, surrendering a two-goal lead. However, they have had a monumental turnaround and have almost guaranteed survival. The Cherries won six of their 10 games since then, collecting impressive wins against Liverpool and Tottenham. Importantly, they also secured victories against relegation rivals Leicester City, Southampton and Leeds United. Bournemouth have won their last three games away from home.

Palace and Bournemouth have escaped the relegation battle and will be looking to end the season strongly. The Eagles were just three points above the drop zone and without a win in 2023 when they got thrashed by Arsenal in their final game of March, but their fortunes have changed since Roy Hodgson returned to the club. They won four of their first six matches under the former England manager, scoring 13 goals in that time, and are now nine points ahead of 17th place with just three fixtures remaining.
