Who are the best Fantasy Premier League forwards for 2022-23?

The FPL game is open for the 2022-23 season, with managers required to select 15 players to bulk up their squads, including three strikers.

With that in mind, GOAL takes a look at the top fantasy football forward picks in the Premier League, including a few bargain options.

  1. Erling Haaland | Manchester City | £11.5m

    Erling Haaland | Manchester City | £11.5m

Manchester City forked out £51 million ($60m) to bring Erling Haaland to Etihad Stadium from Borussia Dortmund at the start of the summer transfer window, with Pep Guardiola finally landing a long-term replacement for club legend Sergio Aguero.

The Norwegian hit 83 goals in 87 appearances across all competitions at Dortmund, and could potentially be even more prolific in the Premier League given the high-quality service City's midfield can provide.

  2. Harry Kane | Tottenham | £11.5m

    Harry Kane | Tottenham | £11.5m

Tottenham's captain Harry Kane has been the scourge of Premier League defences for nigh-on a decade now, winning the Golden Boot on three occasions.

A slow start to 2021-22 saw some question whether the England man had passed his peak, but he bounced back to finish the campaign with 17 top-flight goals.

It will be difficult for managers to leave out Kane once again this term, especially given the fact he has sparkled under head coach Antonio Conte and continues to enjoy a fruitful partnership with Son Heung-min.

  3. Jamie Vardy | Leicester City | £9.5m

    Jamie Vardy | Leicester City | £9.5m

Leicester's Jamie Vardy has been the model of consistency in the final third over the past five seasons, scoring at least 15 Premier League goals in each year.

At 35, the crafty frontman may have lost a bit of his once-electrifying pace, but his instincts in the box remain as sharp as ever, and he will surely be a popular pick once again as Brendan Rodgers' side aim to bounce back from a disappointing 2021-22 campaign.

  4. Darwin Nunez | Liverpool | £9.0m

Liverpool reportedly won the race to sign Darwin Nunez ahead of a whole host of top European clubs, having seen him shine in both the Primeira Liga and Champions League at Benfica.

The club will hope for an instant return on their £64 million ($77m) investment in the Uruguayan, who will surely be a nailed-on starter through the middle in light of Sadio Mane's move from Anfield to Bayern Munich.

  5. Richarlison | Tottenham | £8.5m

    Richarlison | Tottenham | £8.5m

Tottenham snapped up Richarlison from Everton for £50m ($60m), but his debut is set to be delayed after the FA handed him a one-match ban for throwing a flare during a game against Chelsea last season.

The Brazilian will, therefore, be absent on matchday one in 2022-23, but beyond that, he could provide excellent value for FPL managers.

Conte has been tipped to employ a 3-5-2 formation following Richarlison's arrival, with Kane dropping slightly deeper, and the former Everton man will add even more pace to a Spurs side well known for hitting hard on the counter.

  6. Gabriel Jesus | Arsenal | £8.0m

Arsenal have also spent big to land a new No.9, with Gabriel Jesus reuniting with former Manchester City assistant coach Mikel Arteta following a £45m ($54m) switch from the Etihad Stadium.

Jesus scored a respectable 58 goals in 159 Premier League outings for City, despite often being used as a substitute, and will surely be even more lethal when leading the line for an exciting young Gunners outfit week in, week out.

  7. Kai Havertz | Chelsea | £8.0m

Kai Havertz has been bumped up to the forward ranks in FPL for 2022-23 after impressing up top for Chelsea towards the back end of last season.

The German has proven he can deliver the goods in a false nine berth, and with Romelu Lukaku returning to Inter on loan, he is set to be relied upon as the Blues' main source of goals.

  8. Ollie Watkins | Aston Villa| £7.5m

    Ollie Watkins | Aston Villa| £7.5m

Ollie Watkins finished strongly in the last season with three goals and one assist in his last five appearances. Aston Villa have decent fixtures until they face Arsenal on matchday five and if the striker gets on song he can prove to be a quality addition at this price point.

  9. Michail Antonio | West Ham | £7.5m

    Michail Antonio | West Ham | £7.5m

Slotting in as the best option to lead West Ham's attack heading into the 2022-23 season, Antonio made the numbers last season with 10 goals and 10 assists to his name - a good return on FPL.

He managed it well alongside the Europa League fixtures as well, despite touted to be prone to injuries. And at £7.5m, Antonio works out to be a well-founded mid range forward option.

Until at least West Ham sign another forward, which would then lower his value, the Jamaican makes for a good option to have in your team.

  10. Callum Wilson | Newcastle United| £7.5m

    Callum Wilson | Newcastle United| £7.5m

Callum Wilson can be a handy prospect for the season, provided he remains fit, as he scored eight goals in 16 appearances, that is 0.52 goals every 90 minutes.

His points per stat were behind only to Ronaldo, Vardy, & Kane, all of whom are far costlier than Wilson. He has done a full pre-season with the Magpies and even got on the scoresheet against Athletic in the final friendly.

  11. Ivan Toney | Brentford | £7.0m

Ivan Toney's goals were a huge reason for Brentford's success in their maiden Premier League season as he struck 12 times in 33 outings.

The 26-year-old will be the first name on Thomas Frank's team sheet once again in 2022-23, and will likely retain spot-kick duties, making him a potentially shrewd addition to FPL squads.

  12. Aleksandar Mitrovic | Fulham | £6.5m

    Aleksandar Mitrovic | Fulham | £6.5m

Aleksandar Mitrovic has had experience in the Premier League, managing 10 goals in 40 outings for Newcastle before hitting a modest total of 14 in 64 appearances for Fulham.

The Serbian will have another chance to test himself in the top-flight with the Cottagers following their Championship-winning campaign, which he spearheaded in record-breaking fashion.

Mitrovic's 43-goal haul in the second-tier of English football holds him in good stead to shine in the Premier League in 2021-22, with Marco Silva's free-flowing set-up perfectly suited to his talents.

  13. Taiwo Awoniyi | Nottingham Forest| £6 million

    Taiwo Awoniyi | Nottingham Forest| £6 million

Taiwo Awoniyi can be a steal at £6 million. He has recently joined Nottingham Forest for a club-record transfer fee and will be looking to carry his rich vein of form in the Premier League after scoring 20 goals in 43 appearances for Union Berlin in Bundesliga.

  14. Brennan Johnson | Nottingham Forest | £6.0m

    Brennan Johnson | Nottingham Forest | £6.0m

Brennan Johnson is another low-cost option who played a crucial role in firing Nottingham Forest to the Premier League after a 23-year absence. He scored 18 goals in 49 games while also laying on another 10, and his ability to find the net and provide for others makes him an excellent budget pick.

  15. Dominic Solanke | Bournemouth | £5.8m

    Dominic Solanke | Bournemouth | £5.8m

Dominic Solanke was crowned Bournemouth Fans' Footballer of the Year for his performances in 2022. In FPL, the former Chelsea and Liverpool striker has racked up 57 points so far and he is the cheapest buy in the list of top 10 FPL forwards this season.
