Corinthians president Duilio Monteiro Alves revealed that the club made an offer to Cristiano Ronaldo to join them but it was substantially less than what Saudi Arabian out Al-Nassr offered who eventually landed the Portuguese.

Speaking to Bandeirantes’ Donos da Bola, Alves said, "We made an offer to Cristiano Ronaldo. A salary equal to what he earned at United, a two-year deal with the help of sponsors. I know he also had proposals from Europe. But the proposal from Saudi Arabia was 20 times higher. I spoke six, seven times with Jorge Mendes and, in the end, we sent a proposal through another person."

Chelsea are interested in signing Southampton midfielder Romeo Lavia and are reportedly in touch with the player's agent over a possible move according to journalist Simon Phillips via GiveMeSport.

The journalist said, "There’s contact with Lavia that’s still going on. There’s regular contact with his agent. So, Chelsea are sensing an opportunity to try and get him this window. If not, it will be in the summer because Manchester City have that buyback clause on him. I think that comes in possibly in the summer, so Chelsea again trying to get ahead of the competition with him."

Arsenal confident of landing Mudryk


Arsenal are confident of signing Mykhaylo Mudryk from  Shakhtar Donetsk in January according to Fabrizio Romano via Caughtoffside.

The journalist in his column wrote, "Of course Arsenal are confident, and Arteta too. But reaching an agreement with Shakhtar is crucial, they were so strong in negotiations also in August when they turned down €30m from Everton when it sounded like a great bid. No deadlines have been mentioned in the negotiations, as of now; talks continue."

Napoli make bid for World Cup star Ounahi


90min reports that Napoli have now made an opening bid for Azzedine Ounahi worth €15m (£13.2m) plus add-ons, and the offer includes an initial loan-back agreement.

The Moroccan midfielder impressed in Qatar this winter and has subsequently been linked with a move to the likes of Leicester City who have also reportedly put in an offer.

It seems as though Ounahi could well be leaving Angers in the very near future.

Leeds United are "firmly involved" in the chase to sign Coventry City forward Viktor Gyokeres this January, as per TEAMtalk.

However, the likes of Everton and Brentford are also said to be planning on making their own moves for the striker this winter.

Gyokeres has 12 goals and delivered one assist in 25 Championship games so far this season.
