Villarreal are beginning to find their feet under manager Quique Setien as they are unbeaten in their last seven competitive matches. They have also recorded the biggest win in the cup this season, beating Santa Amalia 9-0 in the second round. The Yellow Submarines will provide a stern test for their opponents today as only Barcelona have conceded fewer goals in the league than them this season.
Real Madrid have won this competition 19 times before, with only Barcelona (31) and Athletic Bilbao (23) winning it on more occasions. The last time Los Blancos won the cup was back in 2014 when the beat Barcelona 2-1 in the final, but Carlo Ancelotti will not be getting ahead of himself today. His side have performed poorly in recent games, including a 2-1 loss to Villarreal in the league two weeks ago. They were also embarrassed by their El Clasico rivals in the Supercopa final last weekend, losing 3-1.
