The Netherlands won 2-0 away against Poland, meaning Belgium remain second and Wales stay in fourth.
Belgium run out deserved 2-1 winners over Wales. The hosts dominated the first half and made their advantage count: first, De Bruyne slotted in from 20 yards with a precise finish, before Batshuayi doubled the lead with a tap-in from close range. Belgium could have been further ahead were it not for misses from the two goalscorers, Tielemans and Hazard. Wales improved in the second half and made things interesting when Moore headed firmly beyond Courtois, but Belgium comfortably held on for the three points.

Belgium lead 2-0 at the break following a superb performance. The hosts sliced through Wales throughout and the scoreline could easily be much more impressive. They got to work quickly when De Bruyne clinically slotted in from 20 yards, but the midfielder could have added to his tally when he hit the post and missed a one-on-one. Nevertheless, Belgium were still able to double their lead when De Bruyne set up Batshuayi for a close-range finish. Wales, on the other hand, offered little and it could be a long second half for them.
