The Flamengo wonderkid is already looking forward to making a splash in Madrid, and he wants Neymar to join the club's growing Brazilian contingent

Future Real Madrid signing Vinicius Junior is hoping to one day line up alongside his idol Neymar - in the white of the current Champions League holders.

The Flamengo striker agreed a £39 million switch to the Santiago Bernabeu in July 2017.

At just 17, however, Vinicius will only be able to complete the deal after the World Cup in July, when he will turn 18 and be cleared to move overseas - while the prospect of a loan that keeps him at Flamengo for a further year is also possible.

And while Neymar is currently recovering from an injury at Paris Saint-Germain, the youngster would love to see him bolster Madrid's Brazilian contingent in the near future.

“If God wants, Neymar and I will play together at Real Madrid," Vinicius explained to the Guardian.

"I would definitely be in favour of him moving to Madrid because it would be my big dream to play in the same side as Neymar.

"He is my idol in football. If had a chance to play with him, I would feel very happy.”

Cristiano Ronaldo is another of Vinicius' idols, and he admits that the striker's work-rate is a shining example to him.

“Every day, I say thank you for being blessed with the gift of playing football. The dream of any player is to have the gift but very few have," he added.

"I have been given this gift and my desire to improve is even stronger. In this respect, Cristiano Ronaldo is my inspiration.

"I admire what he has been doing for the last 10 years, playing at such a high level. It is not just talent and quality but hard work too. I hope to be able to tell him that one day.

“I know I am still no one and I have done nothing so far. I want to become one of the best players in football and win a World Cup. I want to reach my goals and make my family proud."
