The winner of the tournament will qualify for the 2019 Africa U-17 Cup of Nations

Kenya will not take part in the 2019 Africa U-17 Champions after the junior Harambee Stars were knocked out of the Cecafa regional qualifiers.

Uganda’s emphatic 8-0 victory over Djibouti painfully crushed the hearts of Kenyan fans, which will have to wait until 2021 to battle for a spot at the continental age-group competition.

Kenyan needed victory in their third match against Ethiopia, but the opponents had a different idea altogether when they handed Michael Amenga's side a 4-2 defeat.

Kenya needed a big favour from Djibouti, whom they beat 13-1, to proceed to the next stage but they failed to do just that.

The lose saw Kenya round off the competition with a third-place finish, behind Ethiopia and Uganda, who are set to grace the semi-finals on Friday.
