Man Utd won't pay more than €80m for Bale


Manchester United are refusing to pay Real Madrid's asking price for Gareth Bale, which president Florentino Perez has set at €150 million (£131m/$174m), according to Don Balon .

Bale has been heavily linked with United and his admission that he needs to be playing more regularly following his impressive Champions League final performance will have made Europe's top clubs take notice.

But United will apparently only go as high as €80m (€70m/$93m) for Bale, with the Red Devils apparently unconvinced by his overall performances in 2017-18, despite his sensational substitute appearance in Kiev.


Liverpool announce Fabinho signing


Liverpool have announced the long-term signing of Fabinho from AS Monaco.

The club has said the 24-year-old Brazilian's move will be completed on July 1 after completed a medical and agreeing personal terms with the Reds.

Arsenal close on Sokratis deal


Arsenal are closing in on the signing of Sokratis Papastathopoulos from Borussia Dortmund.

As first reported in Germany, the Gunners have been in talks with the Bundesliga giants over signing their second player from Dortmund in almost five months, after Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang joined for a club record fee in the January transfer window.

Talks are ongoing with Switzerland right-back Stephan Lichtsteiner who will prioritise a move to Arsenal despite interest from several other European sides including Dortmund. Sources close to the player have told Goal that they are confident of striking a deal, with the 34-year-old keen on moving to London when his contract with Juventus expires in the coming days.

Dortmund complete Wolf signing


Borussia Dortmund have confirmed that they have completed the signing of Marius Wolf from Eintracht Frankfurt.

The 23-year-old winger has signed a five-year deal with the club that will see him tied to BVB until 2023.

Liverpool step up £60m Fekir chase


Liverpool are ready to step up their efforts to sign Lyon captain Nabil Fekir with talks over a potential £60 million (€69m/$80m) deal to get underway this week, Goal understands.

There is competition from a number of clubs, including Chelsea, for Fekir's signature, although the Reds are confident that they can see off other potential suitors and get the deal over the line.. 

In what should be a busy summer for the Reds, Jurgen Klopp is targeting at least three key signings, while the likes of Daniel Sturridge, Simon Mignolet and Divock Origi could all leave.

Umtiti: Barca will have to throw me out!


Samuel Umtiti, who has been heavily linked with Manchester United, has claimed that Barcelona will have to “throw me out the door” in order for a summer switch to be made.

The France international defender has a €60 million release clause in his contract which is proving enticing to clubs outside of Camp Nou.

Liverpool need to upgrade a midfield unit of “workaholics” this summer, says Jamie Carragher, with creativity lacking in the wake of Philippe Coutinho’s departure.

The former Reds defender said: “Going forward I certainly think the midfield needs looking at.

“That will change, with [Naby] Keita coming in and talk of Lyon’s captain [Nabil Fekir] also coming in who plays that No. 10 role."

Neymar could replace Bale & Ronaldo


Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is open to selling Gareth Bale and Ronaldo to raise funds to buy Neymar, reports Guillem Balague at Sky Sports News.

Both Bale and Ronaldo hinted they could be departing Real Madrid following the club's Champions League triumph over Liverpool on Saturday. 

Selling the star pair could be acceptable for Perez, should the club reinvest the funds in the PSG star who has been strongly linked with a move to the Santiago Bernabeu. 


Madrid wanted Iniesta


Andres Iniesta has claimed that Real Madrid were interested in signing him at various points during his Barcelona career.

The 34-year-old is moving to Japanese side Vissel Kobe after a trophy-laden spell at Barca, although he has admitted there were times when Madrid explored the possibility of taking him to the Bernabeu.

Milinkovic-Savic wants Man Utd move


Lazio star midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic is interested in a move to Manchester United, according to Radio Sei.

United, Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain and Arsenal have all made proposals to Milinkovic-Savic's representatives, with PSG and Arsenal's bids nearing €150 million (£132m/$175m) including bonuses. 

But the 23-year-old prefers a move to Old Trafford because he wants to work under United manager Jose Mourinho. 


Chelsea in Bale chase


Chelsea have joined Manchester United and Bayern Munich in the hunt for Real Madrid forward Gareth Bale, reports the Express .

The Wales international has hinted that he could be on the move this summer to spark a scramble for his signature.

United are leading the chase for his services, but they will be facing competition from a Premier League rival for the former Tottenham winger.


Messi remains loyal to Barcelona


Lionel Messi has reiterated that Barcelona will be the only European side he plays for, although he is still hoping to head home to Newell’s Old Boys at some stage.

The mercurial Argentine has been linked with big-spending Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain in the past, but he will only be leaving Camp Nou to return to his roots.

Liverpool to return for Alisson


Liverpool are ready to make another attempt to sign Roma goalkeeper Alisson, reports The Telegraph.

The Reds' goalkeeping situation has been put back under the microscope after Loris Karius endured a nightmare Champions League final against Real Madrid.  

The club made tentative enquiries to Roma earlier in the season, and are now compelled to return for the Brazil international. 


City not interested in Bale


Manchester City have no interest in moving for Real Madrid winger Gareth Bale, reports The Guardian.

The 28-year-old declared his unhappiness at not playing every game following a star performance in Saturday's Champions League final against Liverpool. 

With City out of the picture, the path is clear for Bale to move to Manchester United.


Lichtsteiner has deal with Arsenal


Juventus right-back Stephan Lichtsteiner has a deal in place with Arsenal, claims Gianluca Di Marzio.

The 34-year-old is set to depart the Old Lady this summer as a free agent, and there is mutual interest between Lichtsteiner and Unai Emery's side. 

Though a deal is in place, Lichtsteiner and Arsenal have not yet reached a final agreement with both sides eager to conclude matters before the World Cup. 


Neymar quiet on Madrid links


Paris Saint-Germain star Neymar has played down transfer links with Real Madrid.

As reported by Goal , the 26-year-old is keen to join the Champions League winners as he plots an exit from PSG , but he is publicly staying quiet on the potential move and focusing on the World Cup.

Ronaldo offers Madrid hope


Cristiano Ronaldo has given Real Madrid fans renewed hope that he will stay at the club. 

The 33-year-old made headlines following Saturday's Champions League final when he suggested that his time in Madrid may have reached its conclusion. 

But, speaking during his side's Champions League trophy parade on Sunday, the Portugal star made comments suggesting he may well stay at the club he joined in 2009.

Both Villarreal and Valencia hope to sign Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas this summer, reports El Gol Digital.

Valencia are gearing up for a return to the Champions League and want to make the 31-year-old part of their rebuilding effort for 2018-19. 

Villarreal are also aiming to land the former Arsenal and Barcelona man, who has 12 months remaining on his deal at Stamford Bridge. 


Deulofeu set for permanent Watford deal


Barcelona attacker Gerard Deulofeu is nearing a permanent transfer to Watford, according to Sport

The 24-year-old spent the second half of the 2017-18 move on loan with the Hornets and is understood to prefer a permanent stay at Vicarage Road.

Deulofeu's contract with Barcelona expires at the end of next season, and has a release clause of €20 million (£18m/$23m)


RB Leipzig to move for Lookman


RB Leipzig are preparing an offer for Everton winger Ademola Lookman, who impressed on loan in the second half of 2017-18, reports Liverpool Echo.

The 20-year-old scored five goals and added four assists in 11 appearances for Leipzig after moving to the Bundesliga outfit in January. 

Lookman will hold talks with Everton's new boss, likely to be Marco Silva, to see if he's in the club's plans for 2018-19, with Leipzig set to test the Toffees' resolve to hold on to the young Englishman. 


Roma close in on Coric


Roma are closing in on a deal for Dinamo Zagreb star Ante Coric, according to Calciomercato

The Giallorossi have been negotiating with Zagreb for months over the 21-year-old attacking midfielder, with a move now nearing the finish line. 

Coric is likely to cost slightly less than €10 million (£9m/$12m).


Soyuncu to hold Arsenal talks


In-demand Freiburg defender Caglar Soyuncu has said he will have talks with Arsenal over a potential move.

Soyuncu said he will sort out his future following international duty with Turkey.
