Super Falcons to face Asec Mimosas U16 in friendly in Abidjan

Ahead of the showdown with South Africa next week, Thomas Dennerby's ladies will tackle the boys in a friendly in Abidjan

Nigeria senior women's team will play ASEC Mimosas U16 boys in a local friendly at the Sol Beni Stadium in Abidjan on Friday.

The warm-up match will be coming four days after Thomas Dennerby's ladies landed in the Ivorian capital for their eight-day final camping for the Africa Women's Cup of Nations in Ghana.

Prior to their trip, the Super Falcons had lost 3-2 in the first friendly match against Dominion Hotspur at the Atlantic Hall pitch, Epe during their two-week long camping in Lagos.

Having trained for three days in Abidjan, Dennerby believes the game will help the coaching crew assess his overseas-based players, who missed the team's first warm-up game a week ago.

"I think it is always good to play friendly because some other players came to camp lately," Dennerby told Goal.

"Hopefully, the one or two games and some good training sessions in Abidjan will help us in preparing very well."
