The defender had a relatively good season that saw him crown the year with the first runners-up, Defender of the Year award despite Rangers’ struggle last campaign that saw them finish 15th on the KPL log.
Head coach Sammy ‘Pamzo’ Omollo has admitted Achesa’s departure is a blow to his team, considering his perfect input on the pitch.
“Every coach wishes to have his best players available in preparations for the new season, but it will not be the same for Achesa.
“He requested to leave and gave out genuine reasons and we had to let him go. We will definitely have a replacement for him because we cannot leave his position unfilled.
“I cannot tell who we will go for; it depends on many internal factors. It is not going to be an easy season for sure but we will prepare well.”
Posta Rangers are set to kick off their pre-season preparation next week.
