Robbie Kruse continued to stake his claim for Socceroos World Cup selection, scoring a double in Bochum's 2-1 win over Erzgebirge in the 2. Bundesliga.
The attacker put his side ahead in the third minute, streaking through on goal before calmly slotting past the goalkeeper into the near post area.
Erzegebirge did force an equaliser shortly after but their job became much harder when defender Dennis Kempe was sent off mid-way through the second half.
Kruse then popped up to seal the win in the 77th minute, finishing coolly after the ball broke to him in space at the back of the area.
The 29-year-old is in contention for a Socceroos starting XI position in Russia on the left flank, with Andrew Nabbout and Nikita Rukavytsya also in the frame.
Bert Van Marwijk will select the Australian squad for the World Cup early next month.
