Senegal’s Pappy Djilobodji joins Dijon on loan from Sunderland

The former Chelsea defender will play with the Mustards in the French topflight league this season

Dijon have announced the signing of Senegal international, Pappy Djilobodji on a season-long loan deal from English Championship side, Sunderland.

The 28-year-old centre-back joins the Stade Gaston-Gérard outfit without an option to buy as coach Olivier Dall’Oglio strengthens his defensive line for the 2017-18 season.

Djilobodji makes a return to the French Ligue 1 having previously played for Nantes before he departed for English Premier League side, Chelsea in 2015.

The former Werder Bremen defender who joined Sunderland from the Stamford Bridge outfit last summer becomes the seventh signing of the Mustards this summer and he has been handed the number 4 jersey.
