Royal Antwerp striker William Owusu Acheampong has expressed his excitement following his maiden call-up to Ghana's senior national team.
“I don’t know how to express myself but I am really glad and delighted for this call-up," Owusu told Sportsworldghana.
"It has been a dream for a while. You know it’s the dream of every player to represent the national team so it is such a wonderful news for me.
"I am really glad and I also thank Ghanaians for following my progress over the years. I promise to do my best and repay the faith the coach and the entire technical team had in me,” he added.
Owusu was born in Ghana but raised in Portugal and never represented any of Ghana's youth national teams.
At club level, he has had stints with Cercle Brugge, Westerlo and KSV Roeselare.
